I love, love, love this little shop. I can’t go in and not buy something. I’m somewhat of a skull connoisseur and this is like Heaven. In addition to a lot of Day of the Dead stuff, they have other products from Mexico including hand-bags, sweaters and a lot of jewellery! It’s a great to pick up gifts for people. The owner is so sweet and friendly too.

I found this great little store when searching for day of the dead decorations. if tierra del sol means land of the sun, no wonder I love mexican culture! it’s so colourful and happy and makes every day seem like a party. I live in vancouver and their stuff is like sunshine on a rainy day. bought a couple of ceramic sugar skulls for my next day of the dead party. I remember now buying a skeleton diorama there before, of a mariachi band. they have tons of different decorations and stuff to wear. it’s fun to browse through such a great selection. chatted with the owner, rosario, who is so warm, friendly and funny. she travels down to mexico to bring all these things back. we have to support small shops like these, so they can stay in business and we can experience a taste of mexico!

The weird thing is that I have walked by this place many times, however, was never inspired to walk in or when I wanted to, they were closed. Normally when I am on the Drive I am on a mission and rarely in the mood or forget to stop into the stores I am curious about. What prompted me to walk into the store besides temporary shelter from the rain was the colorful arrays of Mexican skull figures in the window. The entire store is full of nice hand made quality Mexican arts and crafts. Very colorful. I love anything with skulls on it, especially art with culture and story. The owner was really nice and sweet. Clearly she has retail experience and a sense of quality for the items that she carries in her store. The store is small and plentiful in items, however, not overcrowded and well organized. I felt as though I was walking into a museum of fine art. I thought that I was in a rush, however, I missed two buses ’cause I was inspired to comb through the store at the gems. I picked up an evil eye protection key chain for my mom(she believes in that sort of thing) and will be coming back for some worry dolls. The prices are very reasonable. This is the one place to go for your Day of the Dead art.

I originally thought«oh wow, everything but groceries…» and then I realized they do sell hot sauces. So everything but the kitchen sink? Art, clothing, toys, figurines, from Latin and South America. Picked up some worry dolls from Guatamala and my friend got the perfect set of purple sparkley heart earrings with crosses and skulls. If you are looking for something special for you or for a gift, check this place out.

This is my favorite store on the Drive! It’s filled with fun and fantastic goods from Mexico including lots of Frida Kahlo stuff. The lady who owns this store is helpful and nice. Go, smile, shop and support a local business.

Neat store with all sorts of arts, clothing, and other little treasures from Latin and South America. I’ve always been interested in things from other countries/cultures so it made sense for me to stop by and take a look. The owner was really nice as well.

I love this shop! It’s chock full of fresh Mexican art and crafts. I’ve bought some nicely received gifts there, including two stained glass pieces, the likes of which I never saw anywhere else. The owner is nice too. She has a really good buying eye so what you have here are some unusual art pieces and better quality hand made things. It’s not your average ‘ethnic store’. Make sure you allot an amount of time to really comb through the merchandise because it’s really packed to the hilt!

This adorable little shop is tucked away on the South end of the Drive and I don’t often get down there, but when I’m looking for a special one of a kind gift, Tierra Del Sol always comes through. Recently I was shopping for a birthday memento for a girlfriend who is part hippie love child, part 80’s rocker, and a dash of Suzy Homemaker all rolled into one. And of course, I found the perfect thing at this great store chock full of Latin inspired trinkets and treasures. From jewelry to clothes, to authentic folk art and pottery pieces, they have it all. I always find exactly what I didn’t know what I was looking for and always for less than what I’d thought I’d spend!

Tierra Del Sol is the place to go for your little dead people. That being, of course, los muertitos, a popular symbol of the Day of the Dead festivals in Latin America. The store offers an array of unique fashions, jewellery, crafts, art and textiles from all regions of Latin America. There are some unique finds along with the usual knick-knacks. It’s a short trip to a colourful destination!
