Lovely, charming store with warm, inviting service. And all handcrafted goodness produced by community members. This place truly is social enterprise at its best — yes, you can pat yourself on the back and feel good about supporting local artisans, but also, the store is filled tip to tail with unique, eclectic, and beautiful pieces you won’t find anywhere else. Perfect place to shop for gifts.

Where else can you buy a bodum cozy(yes, you heard me right!) then make friends with the local woman who made it? Fantastic locally-made goods. A great place to go to find gifts. I ended up buying some beautiful cards, the aforementioned bodum cozy(best!), and some smart stationary. Screw gentrification. This is the best of the Downtown Eastside.

This place is amazing! The selection of items are all hand-crafted by locals from the community, and every piece is unique, eclectic, and beautiful. There is a great selection of jewelry, pottery, cards, shampoo/body creams and the like, and many other items. Today, I was in here looking for the perfect present for my best friend and I ended up finding an absolutely gorgeous wall hanging made out of porcelain(maybe?) with a 3D imprint of a woman doing a yoga posture. I can’t describe it! … but it is lovely! There were also some amazing necklaces made out of geometric shapes that caught my eye and a stunning mobile made out of old vintage silver cultlery, cups, and teapots. The one thing to look out for here is that since artists sell to the store on commission(I think?) the prices vary quite a bit from way lower than you would expect to way higher than you would expect. Don’t write off this place just because you see one thing you can’t afford! PS this place is also owned by the same folk who run Community Thrift and Vintage and The Frock Shoppe — go check them out, too!
