Avoid this place! I left my old laptop for purchasing evaluation and had to wait about 10 days. Moreover, after the offer was made, I came there to pick up my laptop and was told that I have to pay service fee or leave my laptop to break it even. What a scam. I am glad I came back and told them that nobody told me anything about this service fee. Another sales man told me that the other guy who talked to me misunderstood me. They try to deceive people to make as much profit as possible. Horrible service, rude staff, and scammers!

Was looking to sell a couple year old mac desktop computer, but when we phoned in, the man we spoke with was immediately interrupting us based on his presumption that we wanted a specific quote. He jumped into a lecture about needing a diagnostic test first and when we tried to interject with the actual question, he continued to speak over top. This is very inconsiderate customer service, and thus we decided whatever offer they may have for us, it’s not worth it. Will stick to Craigslist.
TLDR; one employee’s attitude can ruin your experience with an entire business.

Tried my hand at a difficult repair on my macbook pro 13. The task — swap out the upper case… After a 3 – 4 hour tinkering, laptop turned on but new upper case and keyboard would not respond, prompting an outburst my girlfriend was none to happy about. Tried again in the morning to troubleshoot. still no keyboard function and now the screen was gray with a question mark inside of a folder. Deciding to tap out at this point and bring to a professional, a friend recommended Mac market. Emmanuel was very helpful and had my macbooks keyboard and software up and running in 5 minutes, no charge. This kind service prompted me to hand over my next repair/​upgrade planned which is an optical drive swap out. Gave him the parts and ssd I had and he billed me 40 $ for labour. Excellent service and great pricing, compare to simply which charges double for labor and a mandatory 50 dollar diagnostic.

I would give them a 5/​5, but nobody is perfect so ⁴⁄₅ is what they get. I’ve been going here for 9 years for parts and service and they have never let me down. The guys have come through when (competitor store) told me that my Macbook couldn’t be repaired, and they fixed it cheap! I love this store.

I took my macbook there after it wouldn’t turn on, they took the time to show me what they think the problem might be, and then telling me every step they were going to take to attempt to revive it and how much it would cost along the way. Their honesty and openness was a breath of fresh air.
Highly recommend you skip the big chain store and come here. You’ll get good, honest service and quality work.

marvel at the early frog design models locked on the display shelf, and the old bc transit fare box and reminisce about the good old days, when you could reach your hand into the bowels of the system folder and do to your system pretty much whatever inspired you, thanks to res– edit, a text editor, can opener, document converter and trial and error, ANYTHING was possible.
Look at the OSX intels and sadly wish that Steve never sold out.
Today’s ‘BOB W’ is a linux system running on Apple architecture– the OSX today is a pale imitation of all that UNIX was meant to be.
This store is geek candy.

I have just become a favourite aunt of my niece! Her IMac crashed and she lost all her data and she was devastated. Without hesitation I recommended Rick at Mac Market. We have been dealing with them for years and have had incredible support.
Well, what was definitely a Woohoo! moment — the data was found and the skill and support of these people (Rick, his wife, and their employees) have our highest recommendation. Thank you to all the employees at Mac Market! And, pop in next door for good company and exceptional coffee!

Bought a PowerMac G5 there, a year later it’s toast. So, no don’t buy anything from there.

I am shocked to read any negative reviews of this place because I’ve been going there for over a decade so have had dozens of experiences and this is truly a business I feel privileged to deal with. Seriously privileged. The owner is one of the nicest people I have met in Vancouver.
Not only are all the front end staff super friendly and helpful, but they are highly ethical. If you have an easy repair that takes only 5 minutes, you will not get that half hour minimum charge you’d get everywhere else. Er, well, if you are nice you won’t. They’ll often do it right there while talking to you.
The only negative about this business is that they are usually overloaded. That’s what you get for being so kind, so much fun, so helpful and so ethical – customers like me who will never go anywhere else. It’s a rare moment when you can go in there and talk to the staff and not have a lineup of people behind you. Being overloaded cannot help but affect quality of customer service at times.
So, if you want to have the true experience that is The Mac Market, go in the morning when it’s not busy. If they seem busy, go next door and have a chai latte, relax, it’s not the end of the world, your Mac will be in safe hands. Then, come back and talk to a technician. If you’re lucky, they might even have a used part you can replace yours with which would cost a fraction of what you’d pay ordering new parts. You probably won’t ever know just how much you’ve actually saved. And voila, order is restored.

The people and service at the Mac Market are always top notch. The people who work there are extremely knowledgeable about Apple products and always take the time to listen to my questions and concerns. They go above and beyond and always provide professional and reliable services.
I took my old Macbook there recently with concerns about the machine slowing down. They told me about the solid state drive and installed it for me. Since then, it has worked perfectly, and speed has been boosted significantly, saving me time and money.
I would recommend the Mac Market to anyone looking for new or used Apple products and services. Forgo that trip to Future Shop and support the little guy!

I had excellent, pleasant, and flawless service!
The initial emails were professional; identifying whom I was dealing with by first and last name, information concise and pricing competitive.
The hardware is working flawlessly, and the installations were perfect and completed in the shorter of the proposed turn around time.
Also Joe took the initiative to help me by doing more work than I actually paid for, saving me time, money, and potential head ache. Thank you Joe, you definitely deserve ⁵⁄₅ stars!

The two times I had dealings with the staff at The Mac Market, I received top notch help! My first encounter was seeking help transferring a file from a Mac Classic II which contained a manuscript I had no way of transferring to my current Mac Mini. No body in Vancouver had a solution, but a staff member loaned me an «ancient» device free of charge!
Yesterday Rick, the owner, and one of his staff members, Ryan helped me get around a problem downloading a version of Adobe Flash that wasn’t readily available due to the age of my Mac Mini. These guys put a lot of time into this problem and stayed with it until a solution was eventually found!
The two times I was in their shop, I witnessed an army of people coming in for technical help, endless phone calls and of course, the servicing of broken macs in the back area. I can’t say enough good about Rick and his team. The Mac Market is well deserving of any business you can give them! Five star service for sure!

Well, I wanted to like this place too. I really did. I wanted to support the little guy. All I did was bring in a laptop to check it to see WHY it wasn’t turning on. A week later, nothing. I tried to call, and no answer. I tried to email, could not get through. FINALLY, at 7 pm (when they were closed) I got a guy on the phone, I assumed it was the owner who said, «Hello?» I asked if this was the Mac Market, and he said yes, but they were closed. Fair enough. I said it’s been a week for my computer, and could he check on it. «No, no no no… I am all closed up here, and everything’s shut down. I wouldn’t even know where to look for it.» Okay. It’s slow there.
So what is the problem? Do they need to hire for QA to machines that are troublesome? I could do it??? I am a mac guy! Or… what do they need to do to get customer service back to par with the rest of the world?
I’m sorry to say, Mac Market but until you get up to par… I’m going to the competitor.

I really wanted this place to be great. … but unfortunately had horrible service. Had to keep chasing them down to see if they had gotten anywhere in servicing our computer. … empty promises lead to more empty promises, and a few days turned into a few weeks. … but without them ever communicating reasons why, or being pro active to let us know they needed more time. Would not go back.
