Yikes! Sounds like Hunter F. had an unfortunate one-​time shopping experience at The Latest Scoop! I, however spent this summer working in the South Granville area so had many, many opportunities to pop into The Latest Scoop… and I did just that! The store is beautifully laid out with lots of new pieces on a weekly, if not daily basis! The price tag is reasonable and the clothing options stylish and current yet also classic and elegant; offering options to women of all ages and styles. They also sell pretty bras and tank tops for layering or otherwise as well as many jewelry options to go with your latest purchase. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable in providing suggestions on putting together an outfit for any occasion! All in all, with the cost of everything in the S. Granville area it’s refreshing to find a little boutique that’s not going to bankrupt you the next time you have to shop for an outfit for a special occasion! I loved shopping at this little shop when I worked on south Granville. The clothing was really chic & trendy but the prices were reasonable & the sales are great! I always stop by when I’m in the area to check out their new arrivals. I still receive their promotional emails to let me know about sales and new arrivals, which I appreciate since I’m not in the area anymore. Service is always friendly.

Really interesting items there and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. I bought a really unique purse that I get compliments on every time I wear it. This is definitely a place to stop in and check out every time i’m on South Granville.

I’ve shopped here many times. Their return policy sucks. The customer service if you are willing to spend $ is great. I was in the other day with my bf looking for a dress to wear to a friend’s wedding. They had no goddess dresses left in my size, which was the dress style I wanted in blue. Anyways I lucked out since I continued looking for a dress there and found the blue goddess dress in my size on the sale rack for 15% off. I asked why, and they explained that there was a rip on the inside of the dress where no one can see, of course I was super happy, tried it on and bought it. When I bought it I was given the usual sale spiel about the dress being a final sale. In any case, on the day of the wedding, sitting and waiting for the ceremony to begin my bf looks over and points out the gigantic rip which is barely concealed by a small ruffle flap right on the ver front middle of the dress! I could see my entire torso through the rip — yikes! I was obviously upset that the salesperson gave me misinformation, but decided that the store would likely take the dress back for a full refund when they heard what had happened.
I called the store on Monday and explained about the giant rip and what I was told about the rip being on the inside at the store. It was the same girl who helped us in the store and she flat out told me that it is the customers responsibility to check the clothing for defects! Wow– great customer service … why would I not listen to the salesperson about the reason the dress was on sale. I don’t go into nice clothing stores with an air of suspicion about their salespeople. She said there was nothing she could do but give me a $ 10 credit. So I paid $ 90 for a dress with a rip down the front, concealed by a flap.
Not sure who does the training for customer service at this store, but their ideas will not produce repeat customers. I previously would rave about this store to my friends, but the truth is all it takes is one poor experience to lose a customer’s loyalty.

Reasons Why This Store Sucks:
1. First of all, update your frickin’ Unilocal page. Add some nice photos of your beautiful store (because it is quite pleasant on the eye), display your hours correctly as well as the days of the week you’re open! I know it says you’re closed on Sunday’s but I just came in today (Sunday) and you were most definitely open :)
2. Cute clothes (sometimes), but very over-​priced (100 dollars for a skirt that’s not good quality).
3. Seems like wonderful customer service when you walk through the door looking put together in a nice outfit (they immediately judge you and can see who has the money to spend and who doesn’t. You can tell which customer ‘matters’ more to those who work here).
Example: I’ve gone to the store in what I’d like to think is a decent outfit and have received the nicest compliments and amazing assistance in helping me find what I was looking for. And then I’ve wandered in with no makeup and a ball cap and no one would even say hello. That’s unacceptable to me and it just goes to show how snotty the women who work here really are.
Do you work on commission ladies? Really, I can’t tell.
4. Rarely a sincere ‘Hello’ when you walk in. They obviously haven’t trained their employees very well because they stand there all awkward and watch you… it’s just creepy.
5. Communal changing rooms. I went in today and asked for a private room, the lady proceeded to roll her eyes at me, muttered «they’re full’ and then walked away without even offering to hang up my items. *Great service, your mother would be proud!*
6. Employees wear the clothes on the racks through their shifts and they don’t even have to buy them.
Example: I went into The Latest Scoop in West Vancouver with my mom and boyfriend because I regretted leaving a shirt behind the previous day. When I asked the girl that had been helping me if they still had the shirt, she looked very awkward and said «I’ll be right back.» As I waited at the counter, I noticed the girl who was helping me arguing with another salesperson on the floor. This woman was wearing the shirt I wanted and so she went to the change room and came out in a different top. She then put the shirt she was wearing (which still had the tags attached) on the counter and was going to (angrily) sell it to me. That’s gross. And uncalled for. Don’t be cheap, just buy the damn top. I wasn’t aware that this was a used clothing store!
SO! To sum it up, if none of this bothers you and you still want to give these women your hard earned dollars then be my guest! But I’d recommend going to a professional establishment where you’re treated like an actual human being with feelings and not an ATM machine.

The staff are friendly and stylish, and they have been very helpful in answering my questions about how to match and style certain pieces. They are always changing up their product selection so every time I go there, it’s a new mix of things to see. I would say the pieces are LA /​Westcoast inspired. There’s a communal changeroom, but if you prefer more privacy, there are two private changerooms as well. If you enjoy boutique shopping in Vancouver, this is a must-​visit shop.

Endless Rose, Naked Zebra, Soia and Kyo, Six Crisp Days… FAB. I make a point of getting my shopaholic butt in here every time I’m in the neighbourhood since they’re constantly bringing in new pieces — some leaning towards the contemporary, trendier end while there’s the simpler, classic pieces every wardrobe should have available too — at very satisfying prices. Friendly, outgoing, and attentive staff (admittedly, a bit overbearing at times) on the floor making sure you get greeted and have a change room ready — and sometimes, to ensure you have a hanger space ready in their communal change room when the private ones are already occupied on their busier days. Honestly, I don’t mind the communal changing room when I’m in for a quick try-​on, but hey there’s days when I want to take my time and not feel rushed or self-​conscious because of someone else eyeing what I’ve got on or wanting more room in the rather limited mirror space…

Great concept and I browsed a bit, however, thought that it featured more local clothing. I don’t mind buying US, however, when it comes to small shops like this I figured that they would have at least some local selection. Decent customer service.

Communal Fitting Room *gasp!* I know ladies, it was a first for me too. My guess: sales strategy. I walked in and could feel another customer’s eyes on my dresses, and when the sales associate asked if she wanted to try anything else, she pointed eagerly at my selections. It’s kind of genius really except for the fact that we’re women not pre-​schoolers and I like to strike my best pose and make sexy faces at myself while trying new stuff on in private -.-
If we were in an Ivory commercial we could all sing kumbaya about all women’s bodies being beautiful but let’s be real… we all have insecurities and no one likes to feel exposed with your wobbly bits out in the open!
There were 5 associates in the small shop which seemed a tad excessive, and while they were friendly there was an overall «pushy» aura that made me feel less than comfortable.
As for their wares, I was too distracted feeling watched to notice much that was worthwhile. Did I mention communal change room?!?

Very concerned about my purchases today. I have been shopping for my daughters here ever since all their opennings and closings from the beginning. All birthdays and holidays. Today, however, was a very different story. Since all the clothing I buy are presents for my daughters I need some re-​assurance that I or they are able to exchange the items.. The associate at the counter was not at all amiable about this and insisted that the exchange is only 3 days. Doesn’t work for me since I work full time and all my daughters work full time. I now want to take my purchase back and not do business with them anymore.

Great experience. I absolutely loved my purchases — two dresses and a tunic.
The clothing was unique and not to be found at a large big box store, which is great!
I was surprised to read the negative comments as my experience and the stores ambiance were amazing! To each their own.
I was not bothered by the communal change room as we all have the same bits and pieces. The lady that shared the room with me at the time was precious.
I will definitely go back! Two thumbs up!

I’m surprised at how low the rating is for this store. I went in one night unbeknownst the store was closing. It was a last minute scramble to get a lbd and the girls working were so helpful. I ended up leaving with two dresses instead of one and I’ll definitely be returning during regular hours so I can have a better look around!

I wandered into this store as I live close by and it seems to be fairly busy on weekends. Right off the bat I notice they have the jeans brand Just USA, which I used to wear all the time back home in Amuricah. This is the first time I’ve seen them here. A quick glance at the price tag and. .. eeeeek! They’re selling these jeans for 70 dollars!!! Umm, they aren’t worth more than 30. That’s like the most I’ve seen them retailing in the States for.
I wandered around and noticed pretty much everything is overpriced. They have crappy made-​in-​China wallets that are faux-​leather retailing at 40 – 50 bucks. No thanks. Guaranteed those will fall apart in two weeks. Many of the brands they carry you can find either over the border or online for a fraction of the price. I know it’s easier said than done to take a trip SIMPLY to get these clothes for cheaper, but in all honesty the brands they carry aren’t known for their high quality, so spending 99 bucks on a dress isn’t worth it.
Most everything was «Made in China». This stuff is a rip-​off for what it is.

I was shopping on South Granville yesterday and noticed a new pop-​up boutiques clothing store. This used to be where Homewerx used to be. The goods inside were pretty nice and trendy and prices were reasonable. Colorful skinny jeans, drapey tops, jewelry and random bags and accessories can be found. Their sales team constantly hounds you asking if you’d like to be on their mailing list. They may even forget they’ve already approached you and ask you twice or three times.
Everything seems to be great until I discovered their change room was COMMUNAL. Yes! One big empty space enclosed by a large curtain where everyone saw everyone’s glory. I found this distasteful especially since this wasn’t a warehouse sale. What if I didn’t have my cute underwear on? To make matters worse, just when I got in and hung my dress, this women asked if I was going to try on my dress! Yes! She was already eyeing it before I had a chance to try it myself. Completely turned off by her rudeness and the lack of privacy, I left the store empty handed.
Hopefully the owners would invest in a few dividers or come curtains. I understand the economy is bad, but seriously?
