I stumbled into the The Hang Out Place while shopping on Granville Island. I was instantly welcomed by the employees to relax, put my feet up and hang out. Everyone in the shop was so positive and so chill — it was an awesome experience just being there. I eagerly bought my first hammock for $ 100 including all the hardware. Having no buyers remorse is an amazing feeling. When I move into a bigger house I will return for an even larger hammock!

Located on Granville Island this unique place offers relaxation. I came here to browse. The lady offered me to try out one of the hammocks which was one of the most relaxing experience, especially for someone like myself who has back issues. Very reasonably priced at $ 99. Very well hand made.

I was never entirely sold on the idea of hammocks until a recent trip to Thailand. Stormy weather, insect-infested cabin… the hammock tied just outside my bungalow proved to be my saviour in more ways than one. The Hang Out Place hopes to help you achieve that magical water-side sway in the comfort of your own home(or balcony). In all shapes and weaves, the Hang Out Place is a one-stop shop for any and all your hammock needs.

Wow — the staff at The Hang Out Place sure have a rough job! They — quite literally — hang out in and sell fine, handwoven hammocks and hammock chairs out of this small Granville Island space all day long! In fact, the hammocks sold at The Hang Out Place are truly unique and special. Designed by the owners of the shop, these hammocks are easy to hang, easy to assemble, easy to take apart, easy to store, easy to carry, and easy to relax in. The hammocks are $ 99 each and come in a rainbow of colours. The staff(I spoke with Ben) is more than happy to explain the build and design, show you how to assemble the hammocks, let you test one of them, and explain why these are such a great little invention to have in your own home.
