The Gentlemen Hecklers

This is one of the hidden treasures of Vancouver entertainment.
It’s a comedy show held at the Rio theatre once a month. The dates vary from month to month but it’s usually in the middle of the month on a weekday. The gist of it is that they show a cheesy movie while three comedians sit in the front row with microphones and heckle the movie from start to finish. Basically, it’s like a live version of Mystery Science Theater 3000, minus the silhouettes.
The Rio is a licensed venue, so you can enjoy a drink with your popcorn and show. The tickets are reasonable in price, making for an affordable night out. Getting there is pretty easy since the theatre itself is a stone throw away from the Commercial skytrain station.
They sell tickets at the door but I always purchase mine online as it costs less that way.
