A great reliable haircut for $ 20. An old school friendly atmosphere capable of modern styles.

A top haircut from a very genuine and sincere barber. I’m a 20-year-old student visiting from Ireland, and was very impressed that he could give me a ‘modern’ style, exactly as I requested. Plus, there’s always James Bond on(somewhat of a signature according the other reviews), which is always something you can half watch while waiting. I’ve always preferred a long haircut — it took about 25 mins — where no one is in a rush and you’re given full attention. So this isn’t a place for a speedy chop, but it comes highly recommended if you want an unhurried personal service.

Pros: — Bond. James bond — Cheap. $ 20 — Mom and Pop feel — You are supporting a guy who works long and hard — Inescapable old school feel Cons: — My haircuts are ok… but not fantastic, but i keep going back because its good enough. — I’m obviously not memorable, he never remembers me. — No resos, and the last couple times I had to wait 20mins — No credit or debit

Attention to detail here is immaculate. Very careful barber and he’s an artisan who cares about the work he does. Will come back here often. Price of a haircut and beard-trim is very good too!

THE best Barber in town hands down!!! I have been everywhere including most Barbershops in Gastown and Yaletown and this is the best cut I have ever received. Great ambience too! Feels like an old school shop. I’d give him 20 stars if I COULD! See you in 5 weeks buddy!

This place is a gem in a world of cookie cutter franchises and generic experiences. This is my go to place to get my ears lowered!

Was in the neighbourhood working out at the Dunbar community center gym, and I’ve read good comments about this place; so I decided to give it a try. I walked in at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon and saw there were 2 others ahead of me. I decided to go run a few errands in the meantime and after returning 30 minutes it was not my turn yet. Although I didn’t mind because Casino Royal was on in the background on a 13 inch CRT Sony TV. Compared to other barber shops where you’re kind of forced to make chit chat with people, the TV allows you to just zone out for the time being. However upon my turns I felt interested in introducing myself, Alex(the owner) has been there for 10 years now and was very friendly and offered suggestions with what type of style haircut would suit me(because I couldn’t decide). I was very impressed with Alex’s delicate technique and how he was able to gauge exactly what type of style would suit my look. The entire time he did so in such a fluid motion which seemed more like art than a job. Even though this place charges a bit more than other hair salons I’ve been to, $ 17 as opposed to the usual $ 10, I feel that extra money is well worth the attention to detail Alex provides. I was very happy with my haircut that I decided to pay $ 20 and have him keep the change, definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to try a new barber shop! (+) Very attentive to a particular style that you wish for and is happy to oblige. (+) Nice retro feel to the establishment, vintage photos and barber tools. (+) James Bond films (-) Kind of a wait. Just an FYI, this place only does hair cuts & beard trimming for men, so unless you’re a woman with a beard…=/

Open Sunday, great barber with warm personality that knows how to cut men’s hair. Old school with James Bond movies playing as you wait and get your hair cut. Great experience.

There are two great things about this barbershop. First off and most importantly, the barber gives a great haircut. I’ve been there 5 times and it’s the same great barber there very time, unlike a lot of other shops around. Secondly, while you get your hair cut you aren’t subjected to awkward small talk. Instead, there is always a James Bond movie playing on a small 13 inch CRTTV in front of you. The barber is very nice and willing to talk, but I find it very relaxing just watching old Bond movies while my hair is cut. He takes care of all the details and doesn’t just rely on clippers. The price is great(16) and he really takes care of you. You don’t leave with hair all over yourself or with an uneven cut. Even though the price is great, when you leave you won’t feel like you just left supercuts! This is just a really cool barber shop with a great barber who cuts hair on the cheap. Check it out!
