I had the blueberry and my bf had the choc banana meringue pie. We’ve heard good things about Tartine and have been dying to try it since they opened this store. I was expecting a tart berry pie but didn’t get it but bf really liked his choc banana meringue pie.

I live in the West End and was happy to have discovered this cute little bakery. It was the wonderful smell of the goodies baking in the oven that drew me in while walking by one cold morning. They have friendly staff and the atmosphere is nice. They also have a good variety of food choices. I went back several times, mostly for their lattés and morning goodies, esp. the«No Sugar Morning Glory» muffins… they are delicious! However, I’ve since stopped going there because the morning glory muffin is EXTREMELY oily… After touching it, your fingers are COVERED in oil — not exactly the best food if you’re trying to lose weight! Also, their chicken pie is very mediocre(too much crust and the sauce was missing that«je né sais pas quoi» — sorry to say but Costco’s pies actually taste better(even though they are more unhealthy with all the chemical preservatives in it – at least at Tartine you’re getting«real» ingredients). If you don’t care about losing weight, then this is the place! My boyfriend came in and thought their pineapple-coconut cream pie was absolutely amazing! Made him feel like he was on holidays somewhere tropical, lol. It’d also be great if they had more electrical outlets to work on your laptop.

Got the Elvis pie — basically it has everything delicious inside — banana, chocolate, peanut butter, meringue & a flaky crust. It’s about as heavy and yummy as you can get.(Go early on a Friday– Pie Friday is becoming a thing & many pies were sold out.)

So let me start by saying, I worry a tiny bit. This place doesn’t have nearly enough reviews and while Vancouver is a sleepy little city when it comes to Unilocal, this bakery is deserving of some Unilocal lovin’! Delicious house baked bread and various pastries, all displayed beautifully. The breakfast sandwich is yummy, as is the Hass Avocado toast. I have tried their pies, breads and little treats(yup, I like sweetie things so sue me), and everything has been delish. Please don’t let this place go the way of Cho Pan. Davie street: you need more good things and this little shop is a local treat worth visiting!

Wonderful pastry with delicious fillings! A lot of new flavour combos too… Nummy! This is like the pies my auntie used to make with cooked fruit fillings! U can take a trip down memory lane with some of these delightfully old-fashioned fillings… We’ll be back!

Fantastic. That’s all you need to know. So happy we found this place. I had the granola and also the peanut butter and banana toast. The granola is so good and the bread /toast just phenomenal. We had some coffee as well, which is also really good. I love the small, quaint space with all its simplicity. Great spot for breakfast and coffee.

Never fails me. I love this place. I used to work right on beach Ave and used to go get lunch at the hornby location, the original one. Then, when I saw they are opening davie location, which is a few blocks away from me, I was super excited that it’s just steps away. I would say they made a good decision considering the location being very close to residential an businesses. And it’s in beautiful west end! They are well know for their pies but do not miss on soups and sandwiched! They are amazing!!! I am not even gonna bother cookies. Coffee is just bonus! Go bananas people.

I’ve been on a pie mission lately and this one takes the crust! So far I’ve tried the butter tarts and the cherry tarts and pie slices. Their crust to filling ratio is on point! So much crusty goodness. In fact the crust was so incredible that I asked to purchase a pie crust to go. Not surprisingly they do sell frozen pie crusts! Perfect for taking home to make your own creations. This location in particular is good for relaxing and people watching. The service is warm and friendly. They take the time to explain their ingredients.

Yuk! I am a pastry chef from Portland and have a plethora of amazing bakeries. We came to this place since it had 4 stars thinking it would be great. I got the veggie breakfast sandwich which had a slice of unripe white tomato some flimsy slices of cucumber with mixed greens thrown on top. The chai was too sweet to drink and the yogurt and granola tasted stale. This is my 4th experience this weekend dining at a four star establishment that is below average. Love Canada but your food needs work.

I had the peanut butter and jam toast, they didn’t have the avocado toast one which was disappointing, so I went with the PBJ, it was OK something I can have at home really. Coffee was good. Place is clean and neat but maybe needs rearrange the sugar, cream, spoons, lids area… I didn’t find it and I though they didn’t have and just when I was about to ask for it I heard one of the servers telling the customer after me where the sugar was… The person who took my order didn’t even care about telling me, she didn’t smile or care if I had what I needed. Meh. I sat by the bar, sit was kind of uncomfortable after a bit, the place also felt really warm, I think needs Ventilation I wonder how hot it will be in the summer *____* I might come back to try something else, rating them in food with a PBJ toast seems too easy

It’s one of the best coffee shops in the West End. The cakes are delicious, they have a wide choice. The latte is really good and foamy. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere too. I totally recommend visiting this place.

Had a slice of pie here on pi day 3⁄14! They were running a special so a slice of pie + coffee/tea for $ 3.30. How could I pass that up? They had a great selection of pies from fruity like apple or key lime, to rich like the Elvis pie. I ended up with a slice of the raspberry ginger & rhubarb pie and it was delicious. It definitely made me want to come back and try out some of their more savory meat pies. The place itself has a café-like atmosphere with hard chairs and tables; enough room for patrons as they consume their pie, but cozy enough that I was glad that I came late enough in the evening that it was easy enough for me to grab an open chair. If you’re craving a nice dessert, I’d definitely give this place a try.

The bread there is really good! It makes the sandwiches taste good:) the fresh ingredients they use also makes their sandwiches good! I ordered the sandwich with avocado, tomato and eggs and my boyfriend ordered a pie with chick peas. The sandwich and the pie were both really good!:) Their pastries are really good too!

Tartine please don’t microwave your breakfast sandwiches! It ruins the texture of the bread. The latte was pretty good, the tarts are amazing!

This place is really cute! It’s a nice bakery with some seating available. I loved the interior with white walls and white tiles. I came here to try butter tarts since they are a Canadian favorite! They were delicious!

I am familiar with their other location, however, just noticed this location earlier in the week. This is brand new as in 5 months old. They have a limited selection of sweets and pastries, however, what they do have is awesome. I got myself the $ 4 blueberry pie and tea special. Awesome mid week comfort food. Customer service was friendly. Limited seating inside. This is the only pie shop that doesn’t give you whip cream as an option which was really really odd as it is tradition in the city.

The blood orange buttermilk cake tastes okay with soaked sour blood orange slices on top of cake; the cake texture is coarse and the side is dry. The choco ganache inside the choco pecan tart is smooth and little bitter with a pecan on top of the ganache, but the tart skin, which has not much choco taste — little bitter, little salty, little sweet — both the ganache and the tart skin can be better. The white cookie with ganache centre and nut bits coating tastes light sweet and little salty. I also bought the vegetarian borscht from their fridge to try it at home. I was surprised that they add cream to it because the usuall borscht does not have cream in it. The ingredients are similar to the usual borscht but with green beans, and it tastes less spicy than the usual borscht due to the cream. The staff there are friendly and attentive, but I was surprised that they have the tips option in the interac machine. For a small café? That’s not common. Also, it is not hygienic to put all the pies and baked goods on the counter with just a piece of glass to separate them from customers. It is better to put the pies and the baked goods in a glass shelf with a sliding door at the back like the other places; or at least put them in an open glass shelf with some distance between the cashier and the baked goods like the one at the other location. Cream pies should be put in a glass shelf with fridge inside. Because I can find the same flavour of pies and the same food with similar quality somewhere else, in order for me to go back, they need to invent something that is exclusive to them.

This is a lovely pastry/coffee/sandwich shop! The interior and people who work there are charming and warm. The coffee was good! My soy latte was foamy and delicious. They don’t offer iced drinks yet though, so set your pallet accordingly. We came here for breakfast and I got a breakfast sandwich with veggies and avocado. The bun was AMAZING! So good. the veggies included cucumber and greens. If I had a do-over(and I will when I come back!) I will get the avocado toast– which is two big, thick slices of toast with avocado and tomato. much more flavorful than the breakfast sammie, and about 3 times the size for the same price. Both tasted good, but my money is for the toast! The street parking here is pretty easy in the morning, and gets worse as the day goes on.

I have visited tartine on davie 3 times now. My initial visit was great; I had the chicken pot pie and a slice of raspberry rhubarb ginger pie. There is no option of ice cream or whipped cream which I found a bit unusual, nevertheless the food was great. My second visit was like night and day. I brought some friends after talking the place up. Three of the chicken pies came still completely frozen and with a side salad of two slices of tomatoes. The waiter was apologetic and seemed a little puzzled. My third visit I decided to go the sandwich route(‘pretentious piggy’: was great. The bread is fantastic). My friend ordered a sandwich and asked if it was possible to get it without bread and just maybe some extra greens, the request was received with a ‘no problem’. However, upon receiving was less than a half cup of salad on a plate(for $ 9). I am still happy to recommend this place, however with a disclaimer. It has the potential to be an amazing addition to the Davie strip.

I work in the area, and recently stopped in at this new Tartine location for lunch. As far as I can tell, the menu is similar to the main location, though I noticed a few new tasty-sounding sandwiches. I ended up going for their classic Oven Roasted Turkey(to go), and it did not disappoint — made to order with real slices of turkey and super fresh bread. I also picked up a mini lemon meringue tart, which was a winner. All in all, a great lunch — will definitely be back again!
