Take Five Cafe

This was within proximity yesterday and even though I’m not fancy with the location of the café, being a small corner of a large floor of a building, it was a nice little place to sit and hang out for a little while.
I got a gunpowder green tea, which I was pleased to see was only $ 2, and I got a cookie that they have their own bakery (offsite) for which I found nice. Their sandwiches and wraps looked pretty tasty, but perhaps a little pricey for a sandwich.
They have free wifi, comfortable seating and it’s pretty quiet in there with the exception of a bell that goes off what seems like every 30 seconds. it’s relaxing enough to read a book or have a nice conversation.
It’s out of my way but if I’m in the area again I’d return.

They make sweet and savoury crepes right in front of you! It’s a definite win in my books.
I had a really satisfying egg & cheese crêpe from here. Real eggs. Real cheese. Served hot. I suppose it would also serve as the perfect hangover food if you happen to be on your way to work after a night of drinking.
They lose one star because I’m not really a fan of their coffee, but crepes all the way!:)

A coffee and a banana chocolate chip muffin for just under $ 5! Muffin is a bit greasy and tastes like a very mild non-​nut banana bread. Muffin was ice cold even though they just opened today at 6:30am — guess they don’t make them onsite.

It was a hot 27 degree sunny afternoon. I was walking along W. Hastings @ Burrard counting my steps before I reach the nearest Starbucks… determined to quench my thirst with a nice refreshing Venti Iced tea. I then stumbled across an A-​frame sign that announced $ 2 lattes!
Before I knew it, I detoured to Take 5 and ended up delightfully sipping a foamy, artfully designed latte. My quest for iced tea? Forgotten. My latte was bold and delicious. Not the heart palpitating goodness of Peets or Caffe Artigiano, but still great nonetheless.
The kiosk was clean and inviting, servers were friendly and helpful, décor modern and spacious. Expect a wide array of European style organic and kosher coffees, paninis, wraps, or salads. I will certainly go again, perhaps on a cooler day, and try out the healthier fare of gourmet lunch items or desserts. (And heck, maybe a wiser idea to get an iced latte on a summer day!)
The best part about it is that it is aesthetically presented, tasty, and cheap. A bang for your toonie! Having said that, would I still stop and detour on a sunny hot afternoon again if priced differently? Probably not. After all, you had me at $ 2.
