Sunshine Tanning Studios

This place is great. Sure it’s a bit tired but it’s clean and the staff are very friendly. I go here to get a base before a sunny vacation. Always happy with the service… most of these poor reviews are a few years old. I recommend it :)

The receptionist there is kinda inappropriate. I thought so right on my first visit. She always has a bunch of visitors, eats right on the reception desk and talks with her mouth full. Also, I wan never explained how to turn the tanning machine on, same as another person here who wrote a review, so I feel your pain. You simply do not feel welcomed there, you feel like you are not in the tanning studio but in this receptionist’s apartment. I went there because it’s close to my place, but probably it is not worth it. I better walk couple blocks more.

I thought this place was just fine and dandy. I was surprised by the low ratings, but I have a feeling that this «Natasha» person that people said was so rude no longer works here. The two ladies that I dealt with were both very nice and even chatty. I definitely felt welcome. As far as the facility, the place is clean and simply organized. And the $ 7 a tan I thought was a pretty decent price. I would certainly recommend this place for people looking for a tan to battle all these Vancouver rain days.

I’ve been happy with my two tanning experiences, thus far. I use their new stand-​up, current promo — 7 minutes for $ 7. Best deal out there. Yay!
Receptionists have been really friendly and beds are super clean.

Well let me start by saying that Natasha the manager has to be the worst manager that I have ever met, I have been tanning at the Davie st, location for over a year now I tan usually at 9am when they open she is alway’s late and gives me attitude about her beeing late, so about a month ago I had my tanning appointment at 9am and as usual she was late and minutes later I get a phone call saying Jacob I was only 3minutes late no I am sorry, so I lost it on her as I own two hair salons in Vancouver and I require my business to be open on time that means at least 15minutes prior to the schedualed open time, now November 2^nd/​12 I tanned in the morning at 10:30am regular bed and after my tan I was told by Natasha that my monthly package has ended and she went on to tell that I will not not be able to renew my monthly package because the last month has been very stressfull on her LOL so I tan for 20minutes and that is stressfull on her so I think maybe showing up on time is stressfull for her, I tell my ckients to tan here, people visiting I tell to tan here BIG MISTAKE HUGE… I say do your job Natasha grow up, I want an apology and I will be contacting the owner of the business, will keep you all updated this is not over I will not be treated like I am in the wrong I am paying for a service. I used to live on Davie street so I knew about that place but never went in.
I am going soon to a vacation place where the sun will be very powerful so I want to prepare my skin about it.
So I went in the Sunshine Tanning Studio… OMG…if you don’t know how rude can be a receptionist go there !!!
I was even sorry to come and bother her.
I mean seriously, if she doesn’t want to work, just don’t.
After being so nicely welcome (please hear my sarcastic tone here), she indicated me the room I should go into.
I get ready to go into the bed, when I realized that it doesn’t work. So I get out and ask for help, I was YELLED at — press the black button on the wall.
This act had never been discussed with me… how the hell should I know !!!
Definitely will never put an other feet to that place and don’t advise anybody to go there.
Trust me on that !! Your skin and your wallet will thank you.

WORST SERVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IN VANCOUVER!!!
I kid you not. The receptionists there either:
a) seem annoyed that you’re there
b) are rude. RUDE, RUDE RUDE!!!
c) all of the above
If I could give this place NO STARS, I would.
Don’t waste your time or your money in this place. Do yourself a favour and walk the 2 or 3 extra blocks (towards Burrard) and go to Banana Tan. The service difference is day and night between these two places. If Banana Tan isn’t open (for some strange reason) sit outside and just take in the sunshine. If it’s raining, sit outside and take in the rain. Yup. Sunshine Tanning on Davie Street is THAT BAD.
I’ll be sure to tell everyone I know to NEVER go there.
