Sun Moon Nails

Have had 2 pedicures at Sun Moon Nails Spa.
— Both were very well done.
— Vibrating chairs are awesome.
— Both times she started late.
— She chatted too much for my liking.
— Second visit created or aggravated a condition called paronychia. Painful. Had to visit doctor to drain the abscess.
— Will not return.

This is my first time in this salon, reading all the reviews I decided to give it a try, what do you know all the reviews were spot on. Emmy, the owner, did a really good job. My nails were perfect, I got a shellac manicure. I will definitely go back again.

This is the only place I will go in Vancouver. I always see Emmy. She is meticulous. I am always sure to allow extra time as she often is running a little behind, but I am totally fine with that as my pedicure always looks absolutely amazing. She gets booked up pretty far in advance, so be sure to call several days ahead. She just started accepting credit the last time I went, which makes it even better.

I walked in with nasty runner’s feet and ONE FULL HOUR (and only $ 28) later they were baby-​bottom smooth.
Hands down, best pedicure I’ve ever had.

Used my regular salon. but had a couple of bad experiences, so will not be going back. there are so many other good nail salons out there and more agreeable too!

Best Manicure/​Pedicure I have had! The owner is the one who worked on me and she was terrific. My polish was flawless and stayed on for twice as long as most places. She made me feel relaxed and completely cared for. The seats for the pedi have the massage settings.
The only thing I would change is the scrub she uses, it’s the bright blue chemically kind. I prefer the all natural coconut oil mixed with sugar. Also I don’t like having to watch the news. I asked her to change it, which she did, but then we were watching something just slightly less depressing. Personally I wish salons and spas would ditch the televisions and just play mellow music. I miss zoning out and day dreaming.

I think I just found my favourite place to do my mani and pedi!
Emmy is professional, friendly, and very meticulous with her work! Her quaint nail salon is clean and well kept.
I got acrylics nails with shellac gel coat job! :) I am extremely satisfied with Emmy’s work.
All in all it was $ 57.50 + tip! Amazing job! I am excited to come again.

A friend recommended I visit Amy, at Sun Moon Nail Spa for my first time pedicure.
I was so impressed with the care that I received during my stay. Years of working on my feet and wearing heels ruined them. Walking out of the salon, I felt I had been given a whole new pair.

Found this nail salon through Unilocal and I quickly booked an appointment over the phone with, I believe, her name was emmy or Amy.
It was my first time getting my nails done professionally. I arrived about 7 minutes late, and thank goodness she had still been working with another customer. She directed me to a huge shelf of nail polish to choose a gel nail polish colour. After she had finished up with the previous customer, it was my turn.
Long story short — I chose a red color, I believe lucky red? Or something… I can’t remember, but lucky something. I went for acrylic as well. The finishing produce was AMAZING. The nail wasn’t too thick or thin, perfect point at the end of the nails, no bumps, no crookedness, no nail polish mess. It was great! My technician was very precise on her work, even when another customer had come in early, she didn’t rush.
So, for acrylic, gel polish and shellac top coat I believe. It all came out to around $ 47
I will definitely be back.

I’m almost at 2 weeks since getting an acrylic set with gel polish manicure and it still looks great! I have never had anyone take so much care and do such a flawless job. It was a great experience and I will not be going anywhere else for my nails.
NOTE: Cash only and make sure to book in advance as she gets busy.

This place is not worth your time or money, there are hundreds of of better nail salons in the city.

I had to come back and rewrite my initial review (which was positive) after visiting Emy many times.
She’s very meticulous and admittedly it’s a good acrylic nail job but I felt super uncomfortable at the salon. She’s mean, demanding and rude. I recommend Nails by Jenny which is by Joyce Station.

— I did see the other reviews on cutting cuticles too short but mine are perfectly fine. I even have a new growth nail that is very soft (after I lost a nail hiking) that she took care with

Called for a pedicure appointment after reading such glowing reviews and was pleased to get one 90 minutes later. Was running late, so called to let them know in advance — no problem. I arrived 5 min late for original appt. only one tech in the store and she was with another customer for another 10 minutes. She then asked me to pick a colour and set me up in the massage chair. She then said she would be 5 minutes — I was fine with this as my feet were soaking. She took the 5 minutes to heat up her lunch then proceeded to take a seat to eat for another 15. Water is now cold with no sign of pedicure starting almost 30 min after arrival. I got up to leave. Woman came out from back and tried to tell me the other had low blood sugar, needed lunch and they were running late. I left. Not impressed. They shouldn’t have booked my appt if they were running this late. Will not be going back.

Booked a shellac mani-​pedi here after reading the positive reviews. I found Emmy to be professional, meticulous, and friendly. Though the manicure took longer than other places I’ve been to, it was only because she taking the time to do a flawless job. Emmy seems to be a perfectionist and I really felt the extra time was worth it. Thorough mani-​pedi, shellac on both hands and feet, plus simple art on all ten fingers: $ 78.50 after tax, before tip. Very reasonable. Will definitely return.

Emmy is hands down the best nail lady I have ever had. I was so glad when she finally opened up her own shop, as I have been a client of hers for many years. She is extremely precise and takes a great deal of care with all of her clients. Have recommended her to all of my friends and family, and they love her just as much!

Update! (Obviously late but still stands) when I took the fake nails off, my real nails had never looked so healthy and nice! This is super important to me, so keep that in mind, if you’d like to avoid infections!

I really wanted to give a good review, especially after all the positive reviews on mani and pedi services that other Unilocalers gave.
Unfortunately when I arrived for my appointment, I walked in and the smell of chemicals was so over powering I knew I wouldn’t be able to sit through the appointment. :(It’s entirely possibly that I am just sensitive to those sorts of things, but it really did not seem properly ventilated. Perhaps the ventilation was having a bad day… I’m not sure.
At any rate, if you are sensitive to chemicals in the air, this probably is not the place for you. I would love to come back when the air flow situation is fixed. Until then, I’ll be seeking a pedicure elsewhere.

One of the best pedicures I have ever had. Their attention to detail is impeccable! My heels were baby soft & my polish was absolutely perfect and long-​lasting. Really, really great workmanship here.
Their spa chairs are also INCREDIBLY comfortable. I’ve never sat in a massaging chair that massaged my BUTT before– but they do here, and that is a-​okay by me!
$ 28 a pedicure. VERY well spent.
One star deducted because the atmosphere (while comfortable) is not exactly warm and cozy and ‘retreat’ like. This is a nail salon, not a spa. That’s for sure.
