Cheap, standard Greek fare. I like this restaurant because you get large portions for very cheap — great if you want a nice, sit down meal but you don’t want to be spending more than $ 20(most of their plates are $ 10 — $ 15). I’m not sure why this restaurant is getting bad reviews, I found the food to be tasty and the service was prompt and friendly. The interior is also nicely decorated in the classical Greek style. We got our order fairly quickly and our water glasses were always full. Definitely would come back again when I’m in the neighbourhood for an affordable bite to eat! :)

They got lots good Greek dishes and the price is not expensive at all. All the servers there are nice too. Their dishes are huge… we ordered 2 and only finished half of it. Overall highly recommended.

Just came here with a group of 20 people, everything was top notch! They were good enough to take our large party at short notice. We were seated in our own private dining area. All staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The server was very attentive and friendly granted she had to deal with 20 people. She didn’t miss one drink or food order. Our food arrived promptly and everybody’s meal came pretty much all at once. Everybody loved their food and cleared their plates! Great service, great food and very reasonable! Five stars !!! Will defiantly come back again!

I have been to this place couple of times. And boy ever since I tried their lamb roast I have been hooked to it like crazy. It’s sooooo yummmmmyyyy. You shall just fall in love with it. It literally melts in mouth. Pasta is ok too. I knocked down 1 star coz the service here is a bit …“different experience””” if I may say for the lack of proper adjectives Wine selection is ok… not bad. Overall it’s a must go… and will I go there again. .yea I will definitely go there and keep the .“different experience””” thing out of my head as I am used to doing now

While there is a lot of good dishes offered by Stephos(like the lamb souvlaki), I encountered a number of flaws that are significant enough to affect my review. — I asked on behalf of a friend if Stephos’ dishes were halal. A server said yes. My friend enquired separately to be sure and was told no. This is too important to be making a mistake about. — the lasagna claims to have lamb, but on enquiry, it’s actually ground beef flavoured with roast lamb drippings. So no actual lamb meat. — I tried the fried fish entrée. Yuck. The fish was over-fried; making it tough and dry. Stephos falls short on the meats which are generally a bit tough and dry. However, they are generous with the sides, like rice and pita. So at least you’ll leave with a very full belly.

First time dining at Stephos in probably a decade! Also first time trying the Robson location and wasn’t disappointed. No frills, good food, large portions and great value. We got there around 6:30pm on a Wed and waited maybe 20 mins for a table. We had the roast lamb, clams, and calamari. Was impressed by the service and all the waitresses were prompt and friendly! Will return again!

We arrived right before the dinner rush which was awesome. This place is preferred compared to the other location which has more of a wait time. The food was excellent and the service was attentive. I really enjoyed my beef dish, Greek salad, and roasted potatoes. The calamari was ok. The prices are really reasonable. They also serve drinks

We were a party for 6 and we were advised to wait for 45minutes. The restaurant did not look full as in other times we went. We waited for more than 45mimutes and were seated in separate tables. The wait staff seemed to have a hard time serving customers. The older waiter had an attitude. Food though was good. The souvlaki a were excellent and the saganaki perfect. I don’t know if I want to endure the bad service for the good food.

ESL teachers – stay away from this place! I’ve been to tons of restaurants around town and they’ve all been good to great. This place, however, was a sad example of terrible atmosphere and sub-par service. My students – a group of 20-somethings – decided on this restaurant as our last place to eat together as a class. We were 10 people in all, and contrary to our expectations the one topic that dominated the conversation was the magnificently lousy service. Upon entering, we were led into the far left rear of the restaurant, a table for 12. There were no lights on the walls, no lights on the ceiling, no lights on the tables. It was noticeably, unpleasantly dark. We were denied any kind lights or candles after politely commenting on the ridiculous situation before us: apparently, they just didn’t have any. As we were a class of students(noted in my reservation made two days earlier), we all had bags and/or knapsacks. We were told to move them from the backs of our chairs because it was a high-traffic space for the servers(the servers probably passed through about twice in total). We placed them between two empty tables behind us, out of everyone’s way. They were unoccupied the entire time because whenever staff tried to put anyone there, they wanted to move on account of the dark atmosphere of the unpleasantly shadowy corner. It was a *total* bummer to have to sit there. Rather than inquire as to whether the food was good, or whether we needed water, staff complained about putting our bags out of everyone’s way, in the only unused available space. After our meals, when the waiter expressed we include a 15% tip(which I told my students to anticipate and pay), I politely countered that 10% is what the tip would be on account of the terrible atmosphere, and being told to sit uncomfortably with our bags. The waiter argued the dark, unpleasant space wasn’t his fault – and that he had eventually brought small, electric candles for us. Indeed, aside from being ignored for the entirety of the meal, engaging me in an argument about tipping, he *did* bring us tiny electric candles. I would have happily encouraged everyone to tip 15% for average service. By now, no one wanted to tip anything, and we all wanted to leave. So, all in all, the space was terrible, the service disreputable, and the process of discussing the tip made everyone regret going there. Teachers, you know public excursions and activities is challenging enough; if it’s between Stephos on Robson or anywhere else, go anywhere else. You’ve already got enough on your plate and you don’t need what these folks are serving.

I know it’s been months since I’ve been here but I distinctly remember the experience. This place is directly in front of my hotel which made this my first stop(plus this was the only decent looking restaurant open that time). I had the prawn souvlakia which was very good. It was cooked well and very tasty. A serving is enough to feed 3 people. The ambiance is cozy with a unique take on Greek decors. I’d definitely go back, probably make myself very hungry first before returning.

I love stepho’s. This is a really good restaurant perfect for sundays to take your family to. there was never an issue with my food and the servers are trained well. Most of them are greek too. I love the ambience of the store, they put in a lot of work in providing good customer service and most Importantly the quality of food they serve. Their Lamb is soo good. Btw, not a Lamb eater never been and prolly never will but stepho’s is an exemption.

Okay so my friend from Korea told me that on a Korean blog it mentioned that this was the best Greek /Mediterranean restaurant in Vancouver so we gave it a try. I ordered the lamb Souvlauk which is served with a rice pilaf, Greek salad and bread. The lamb and bread were both good but the pilaf was flavorless and had frozen veggies in it that tasted like they had freezer burn. The Greek salad was not much of a salad at all. We were seated near the window in the front which was nice. But it seemed our server was a bit preoccupied. My friend and I were both disappointed because this place was really built up but was more of a let down.

I usually think Greek food is average so I was not expecting to be blown away by the incredible lamb roast dinner plate that I had. The lamb was moist and succulent and falling off the bone. My hubby went crazy over the green bean side dish. I even thought the rice side dish was flavorful and well seasoned. The service was incredibly fast & friendly and the large dinner plate was reasonably priced at $ 14.95. It made me want to watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding. :)

I love Stepho’s and am really excited that they have opened up a second one. However I like the one on Davie more. Its seems like the Robson one has smaller portion. But overall, its still very yummy. There are more street parking then the other one. But of course you have to pay(its all meter) Highly recommend it. Good food and friendly service. PS: I ordered take out instead because didn’t want to pay too much for parking. Like the other Stepho’s this place also has a lineup. Come early or be like me just take it to go.

They had an hour wait to get a table. You can make a reservation but only with 24 hours notice or more. The wait was worth it! Very cute place. A bit tacky but in a good way. Food was great! Really reasonable prices. The service was excellent. I only give the four stars because of our seating. We had a group of seven and the table we were sat at was very small. Not much elbow room. Should have been for just six.

We ate here at this new location for the first time. They have a location on Davie Street that we used to go to, which is their first and original location. I’d say I prefer this new location on Robson Street, better than the other one because this location’s layout is better. The food quality was really good. We’ve ordered the Tiroboukes(Greek Cheese Balls) first for appetizer. It was really good! Omg… It was so good I can eat all of them. It comes with this dip which I can’t tell for the life of me what it is or what’s in it. It tasted cheesy, creamy with shredded parmesan in it. But, I’m not quite sure what it was lol. All I know is that it was really good. For our main, we ordered Calamari Platter, Garlic Shrimp in Butter, and Chicken Souvlaki Platter. As I expected from Stepho’s, the food was really hot and fresh. The Greek Salad was very tasty and delicious, too! Portions are really big and most people won’t be able to finish it. But, that’s one of the reason we love this place. Our server was really friendly, too. We will definitely come back to this place. Line-up is always long but it’s always worth the wait.

A solid three stars. While relatively new in this location, Stephos has been downtown for some time and has become probably one of the more popular Greek restaurants in the area. They are popular because they strike a good balance between reasonable prices, good food portions, cozy atmosphere, and decent food quality. While I wouldn’t say they serve mouth watering, memorable Greek dishes, they do have a nice selection that should satisfy most. I’ve had worse(a lot worse in fact) and I’ve had better. However, what I’ve had there didn’t disappoint. And for what they charge, you do get a pretty big portion. The décor is pretty typical Greek style with a nice homey feel. The place does get pretty busy during peak eating times, however, you don’t feel overly crowded like in some other places. They do take reservations(recommended) but only one day in advance. Service is hit and miss. The five times I’ve been there I had the whole range from from the very friendly and helpful to the totally disconnected«Boy, you’re in the wrong job» servers.
