History
Established in 2001.
Formerly known as «Royal Centre Physiotherapy», our clinic was established to provide a convenient physiotherapy service to the Downtown Vancouver community and the greater Vancouver area via our close proximity to Transit Stations. During the past ten years, we established a reputation for providing caring, effective and efficient physiotherapy treatment. Latterly we found ourselves bumping elbows, feeling a little crowded and thinking ‘if we could redesign the physio clinic, what would the ideal space look like?’. Lease constraints late last year gave us the opportunity to make that a reality and we opened Sitka Physio & Wellness in May 2011 in the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
Meet the Business Owner
Helen R.
Business Owner
Helen has a ‘patients come first’ philosophy. She believes that optimal function relies not only on overcoming the physical limitation of a particular injury, but also in considering all aspects of a person’s life. She attempts to match treatments with her clients’ personal schedules, their prior experience with exercise, and their goals for future activity. Treatments incorporate specific exercise prescription with manual therapy, acupuncture/IMS and soft tissue techniques. Core stability exercises are key to any treatment program prescribed; as such, pilates, yoga and gymball maneuvers are often integrated where appropriate.
Helen has a special interest in running and running injuries. She believes it is an activity that is accessible to most people when done both respectfully and correctly. With proper core strengthening, flexibility, technique, footwear, and training methodologies, anyone get out and enjoy this simple and invigorating sport!
