I really like pasta so I had to give this place a try since they price is right. Well, it’s far from what I expected. The sauce was flavorless and the pasta was just stale. It’s cheap and filling, but there are much better pasta places. Actually this is one of the worst ones I’ve had in a long time. I would take Boston pizza pasta over this any time if day. And Boston pizza is just a couple of blocks away. Will not come back. I still have bad taste in my mouth from this place. Sorry.

Troed their spaghetti and meatballs… possibly the worst I have had, it was so laden with grease wow, not sure how they made it…

This place makes a great lunchtime meal. Quick and delicious. My fave is the Farfalle with creamy pesto. Huge portions. Friendly service.

Pasta was great(Farfalle /Rose sauce) and pretty okay(Rotini /Tomato Alfredo Pesto sauce). Value is tops at $ 10 for pasta with 3 fixings(choice of pancetta, sausage, baby scallops, chicken, clams, and more) in reasonable quantities. Food is made fresh. Like Basil Pasta Bar only with fewer veg options. Ambiance is take-out diner casual. Not a place for dates but solid for buddy food and highly recommend for fast lunch and/or food-to-go. Will definitely return.

I enjoyed the pasta. They messed up my order by adding sun dried tomatoes instead of chicken, but it was still delicious. Good place to get pasta for lunch. Good price. This place is more of a lunch place or get the pasta to go for dinner.

Conceptually, Semolina is as straightforward as it gets: pick the type of pasta, sauce, and add-ons you want. The combination is prepared(in massive quantities, might I add) and placed in front of you, fresh off the pan. My dinner consisted of penne in the creamy pesto sauce with sun-dried tomatoes, chicken, and peas. Tasted fabulous! Monetarily, Semolina is as value-conscious as it gets! You will be completely stuffed and have leftovers to take home… and you’ll have paid under $ 10. Fine, add a couple of bucks if you went with the garlic bread and pop combo. You’ll just be even more stuffed in return.

— while it seems since the last review they have settled more into a traditional pasta bar… With the focus being on the pasta selections for lunch at around 7.99. — it think that’s was the right call but unfortunately I can’t increase the rating… I’ve actually decreasing it. **First, the increased traffic has created a new problem. — it would seem ppl are looking at the menu when they get to the front of the line. Unfortunately what that means is that the others are wait for each person to decide. It took me 10 mins at 12:05 to get through a line of 4 ppl — perhaps you need pictures in addition to the pasta list on the blackboard so that ppl can decide while in the line **Second, the pasta was quite bad. — I ordered the fettuccine alfredo to go. The pasta in the container was just noodles(which were hard because they were not cooked enough) and a simple limited flavour cream sauce. — I don’t know what to say. It would seem this place just hasn’t settled in yet. Perhaps we should give it some more time for the growing pains.

Finally, a custom make pasta joint to compete with Basil Pasta Bar. This location has changed hands a few times in past several years, more known as Suzette’s but I digress. Ordered the rotini with chicken and a good size for under $ 10. Choose your own pasta, sauce, and choice of toppings, and this is much healthier than the fast-food joints in the area, as well as more filling. Just opened in past month. Friendly service, lots of seating. A few blocks from Pacific Centre; corner of Richards/Dunsmuir. You’ll need a key to use the washroom. Easy repeat. also serve breakfast.
