This place impressed me! It’s not the nicest place but if you want some decent fish and chips, huge portions and a good price definitely check this place out. The $ 4.50 burger and fries is a great deal, decent burger. Today we got the Dinner for 2 take-out special and it was great! $ 15 gets you 4 pieces of cod, 2 orders of fries, 2 clam chowder and 2 coleslaw! The fish was soo delicious! Love the batter! Tastes very fresh, light and crispy… definitely not frozen from a box like some people have suggested, I saw them preparing it while I was there. The fries are most likely frozen but they are still really good and cooked perfectly. The chowder was probably my favorite, I will be ordering that every time I am there! Very fast and friendly service! Only about a 5 min drive from our house so that is a huge plus for us too! For sure a must try if you’re in the area!

I had eaten here once before, and was unimpressed, but the insistence of some of the reviews here along with their«3rd Place Best Fish & Chips in Vancouver» certificate made me want to give them a second chance. The owners seem like nice people, and I wish them no ill, but unless they fix some things, there’s really no reason to eat here unless you live or work right next to it. The food itself is just okay. The packaged frozen fries are probably the biggest letdown. Suspiciously cube-shaped fish(also frozen?). Odd agedashi tofu-like breading. It won’t kill you, but why pay extra for what you can get in a $ 5 frozen dinner you just pop in the oven at home? The food would be two stars, but the other issue is the cleanliness. The place *looks* clean, but everything you touch there is sticky: sticky menu, sticky salt shaker, sticky vinegar bottle, sticky cashier counter, and really sticky table. It’s clear they’re skipping the soap when wiping the tables down. Gross.

I do not know how this restaurant stays in business with the prices they are charging. I wanted some fish and chips and we ended up here because of Unilocal :)! First impression when I walked in, we were the second customers in the restaurant. At least there was someone getting take out, so it should be alright? I ordered the one piece cod special value meal for $ 6.25! Yes it was $ 6.25 for clam chowder, coleslaw, fries and one piece of fish. I could not believe the price and was expecting a small plate of food. The clam chowder was a decent sized portion. It was loaded with potatoes, veggies and a small amount of clams. The rest of the food arrived shortly afterwards. I was surprised at how much fries I had. Too much for me to finish. Perfectly fried, super hot and crispy. My cod was perfectly cooked as well. The fish was moist and the batter was light and crispy. Portion was a bit smaller than other restaurants, but for the price it was great! Coleslaw was a very basic coleslaw. It had a hint of tanginess. My date ordered a two piece halibut special value meal. However, his halibut was slightly overcooked that the fish was not as moist. It does feel like a cafeteria setting. But the place was very clean and tidy. Definitely a plus for me. Good to see that staff take the effort to keep the place very presentable. Service was good. We had water arrive to our table the moment we sat down at a table. Food arrived fast. I would come back for some take out or dine in when I am craving for some fried fish. Overall, one of the better value fish and chip restaurants that I have eaten at.

Pretty good fish and chips… you get much bang for your buck! Crispy and not heavy w/batter!(Though I must say 1 piece of fish is pretty small, get 2 piece IF you’re hungry!!) Awesome lil husband and wife restaurant… the store’s not easily visible… it’s tucked into the corner of Rupert and Kingsway… it’s on the upper corner of chili pepper.

I’ve been a customer for at least 15 years and every experience has been a goon one! The halibut is the best and the fries are always hot and fresh! The thing that shocked me was that the hamburgers were so delicious! The prices are very affordable and my kids love it too!

Seahouse Fish & Chips lies on the small stretch of deadzone on Kingsway that spans Nanaimo and Joyce. In a car, you probably wouldn’t notice it, but if on foot(like I was) it feels like a bomb went off. The only places for food on my lunch break includes this fair establishment, so why not try it out? The room is big and clean, but very sparse. Cafeteria style tables and chairs are neatly arranged with little baskets of S&P, ketchup, and vinegar. The menu is basic. Fish and chips in cod or halibut. Prices start at 5.50 for 1 price of cod and go to 10.25 for 2 pieces of halibut. There’s soup and salads, as well as prawns and calamari. I was here for lunch, and the standing special is $ 4.99 for either one price of cod, a fish burger, or a hamburger. All served with fried and a pop. I imagine the only reason anyone would ever go to this place is because they are near by, or they are lost. Either way, it’s one of those places you won’t ever go back to. Not because it’s bad, but because it’s so forgettable that if you ever do find yourself in the same area again you’ll probably try as hard as you can to find an alternative. Even if it means ignoring the hunger pangs and skipping over lunch…

Fish & Chips… Burger & Chips This small out of the way place was cheap and fast. But nothing special. Bring cash. Or expect to walk a block or two to get some. Parking was awkward.
