As I work nearby, I decided to try out this self-professed«Healthy Korean food»(see banner sign photo) place inside Bentall Centre. I really wanted to like this place because there aren’t a lot of quick Korean food places nearby. The place is laid out like a cafeteria, with a counter to order customized items & a cashier at the end of the line to pay before you get your food. Ample seating area. I wasn’t impressed by the food the 1st time, so I came back a 2nd time today to order something different. Sadly, both occasions left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. The 1st time, I had the spicy soft tofu soup with rice. It arrived sizzling hot, with rice & a side of kimchi. In terms of ingredients, there was nothing much in there. The soup was overly salty and super spicy(and, this is coming from a person who loves spicy foods). I abandoned my meal after several mouthfuls. Today, I decided to give the Bulgogi Japchae(beef & glass noodles) a try. At $ 12, the portion size was rather big. Lots of beef and large scoopfuls of glass noodles. Unfortunately, the entire dish was extremely oily. Both the beef and the noodles were literally drenched in oil. I mean, I’m not sure this could even be considered«healthy», when it’s so much oilier than other(non-healthy, regular) Korean restaurants’ food. Again, I abandoned more than ¾ of the plate of food. Even with lowered expectations for cafeteria style food, this was still pretty bad. I probably won’t go back again.

Funny how I forget a lot of reviews when they’re work meetings lol, that’s the stress of my job, visiting as many restaurants and other businesses as possible :) Been coming here for a few years, and I believe it was another food establishment before, now it’s Korean owned, though most of its stuff is from its former predecessor, a breakfast/lunch serving sandwiches, soups, etc. Coffee’s decent but the 3-cheese macaroni is pretty good. Due to its prime time office location, it’s mayhem here during lunch, so i prefer scheduling before/after. Much more spiffier now, w/a dimmed lighting ambience, but plenty of seating. also offer catering too.

The. Best. Breakfast. EVAR!!! Tucked behind Bental II’s food court and a less trafficked area is Ridia Garden — Korean Special. I was craving for a croissant breakfast sandwich and remembered walking by Ridia’s breakfast posters. This is no ordinary croissant sandwich, this is savoury cheese stuffed in a buttery croissant and then GRILLED! Grilled as in on a panini grill. The sandwich is hot with oozy cheese, perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It was sooooo good! Sorry, too busy indulging and forgot to take a picture. You’ll just have to go down there and give it a try. In addition to breakfast and sandwich items and since its Korean owned, they also have common Korean dishes offered for lunch, such as: Bulgogi, gal bi and japchae. I will have to go back for lunch and try them out and I have no doubt it will be fantastic.
