Provident is a full-​service security firm. We provide installation, service, monitoring (from our own central monitoring station in Kerrisdale) and guaranteed five-​minute response to client’s alarm systems.

In addition, Provident provides unique Homewatch services. If you are out of town for the weekend, month or the rest of the year, Provident will water your plants, feed your cat, walk your dog, forward your mail, drive you to the airport, fill-​up your fridge for your return home… and anyone else that you might need done.

Mike started the company in 1996 with a $ 500 limit Mastercard.

Provident has since grown to more than 160 employees and is the only security firm in North America that provides installation, service, monitoring and guaranteed five-​minute response to client’s alarm systems.

In 2001, at age 26, Mike was recognized by Business in Vancouver magazine as the youngest ever recipient of the 40 under 40 award.

Provident has been recognized three times as one of the 25 Best Places to Work by BC Business Magazine. In 2008, Provident was one of three finalists in North America for ‘Installation Company of the Year’ by Security Sales & Integration Magazine.

A graduate of the Birthing of Giants program at MIT, Mike is President of EO Vancouver (Entrepreneurs’ Organization) and has been a board member of the Kerrisdale Business Association since 1997.
