Progressive Shoe Service

I had bought a pair of shoes to wear at my wedding and realized they needed to be altered and had been told by another shoe repair place that it couldn’t be done. I was recommended to Progressive that «if anyone can do it, they can» and I brought the shoes in and the gentleman behind the counter assured me it would be no problem. He was right! They did a great job, and were incredibly reasonably priced. Definitely will be bringing my next pair of shoes that need repairing here! I only took away 1 star because when I was trying to drop them off I arrived at the store in the morning when they were supposed to be open, and they weren’t, so I had to come back later.

Only place I trust with my footwear. Friendly and professional service and the quality of their work is always great.

Here is the reasons why I highly recommend Progressive Shoe Service.
One thing to know about this shop is that it is closed for lunch from 1−2pm and they are not open on Tuesdays and Sundays. They DONOT take credit cards they accept cash and debit only.
— Your shoes are kept in the back away from anyone snatching them (I went to pick up a pair of my Gucci shoes at another shoe repair store and I was shocked when I went in to pick them up that they were sitting on a shelf outside of the cashier, I was more shocked that they were still there)
— I have brought in many pairs of shoes to Progressive so far before writing this review and I have had no problems at all with damages or being dissatisfied in anyway with the services. I had a pair of boots that needed a new sole and they came back to me polished and beautiful.
— If you are in a rush, paranoid about a special pair of shoes or high end ones you do not feel comfortable sitting around in the shop waiting for its turn you can always ask for a rush on them, of course with a fee but it nice that they have this option. I have used the rush service twice myself (They are sometimes really busy so the rush service can be from that day till the next morning depending how important your need for the shoes are but from my experience they are willing to help you out as best they can)
— Really nice couple, positive and professional.

I have now been to this store 3 times during their published business hours and they have been closed. Two times they were closed for an hour during the middle of the day, this time they have piece of paper on door stating they are closed for the next two weeks for a winter vacation. Good thing there are many other options with better reviews near by. Also, stop advertising «best in Vancouver» status, that was 1994.

Verdict: Friendly and very efficient service
I came in on a Tuesday afternoon with a pair of stiletto boots that needed heel replacements, and I needed them ready for pickup by Thursday before closing. The owner at the counter said «no problem», and I left them in her hands.
By 6pm the same day, she called me to let me know my repairs were done and I could pick them up the following morning… a full day before my requested completion time, which was a tight turnaround as it was!
I’ve since picked up my boots; the once horribly mangled and worn away heel tips look as good as new now. My bill came to $ 13, which I find to be a very reasonable price for such prompt service.

This place is as good as it gets. I brought my boots somewhere else (Both Feet on Main street) and what they quoted was ridiculous and not necessary. They were going to charge me for a whole new zipper when all I needed was new pull tabs. Progressive got the job done at a much more reasonable price (more than half the cost) and did a great job!

I work close by but I have never stopped in. I recently found out that some of my friends use this place so I thought I’d give it a try.
I brought in one of my old but only slightly used boots from the early 2000’s, that I had in storage for several years. You know the ones with the wider and chunkier soles. «So not in right now.»
They shaved down the sides, lowered the overall height, and made new grips, making it look so much more sleek. If only they could change the square toe to a round or sharper one but that’s not possible. At least now, I will wear these boots again.

I’ve had several pairs of old shoes fixed here for an unbelievable price. The owners do very good work and take the time to explain options and to show exactly what they plan to do.
Most recently I had the front soles on a pair of boots replaced along with the heels on a pair of dress shoes, all for $ 60.
They also do heavy-​duty zipper and repair work on backpacks, etc.
If there were a downside, it would be that work tends to take a week to complete, but in my opinion it’s worth the wait for the reasonable prices and good workmanship.

Cobbling is a dying art. Damn cheap cheap cheap addiction of the world.
If you own a decent pair of shoes or boots, you know they are worth repairing. I had a pair of boots with worn heels. The friendly Chinese couple here did an excellent job, literally making them look new.
Turnaround takes a few days, but it’s worth it.

I took my shoes there for repairs because of the positive reviews. The shop is tiny but they were busy. I have to wait one week for the repair. The workmanship is good and price is fair. I would recommand to my friends for sure.

I recently brought in a pair of casual shoes for repair and they were fixed very well, quickly and at a reasonable price. I would definitely return to Professional Shoe Service for future shoe repairs.

The couple who run this little place are friendly and do quality work. They don’t just repair shoes. I’ve seen them sewing up backpacks and they even fixed the busted zipper on my winter coat.
You’ll have to leave a deposit when dropping off items to be fixed.

A friend recommended them to me. Mom n’ Pop type shop. I found them friendly, honest, and reliable. I’m planning on taking some shoes to them again soon.
