Okay, I think I found the perfect salon and stylist. I’ve been in Vancouver for 6 years now, and I’ve never had a consistent hair stylist. Maybe it was the lack of communication, or the hair style that doesn’t seem to last long. I don’t know. But this place!!!
I came here on a friend’s recommendation, who knows the stylist, Mi Sun, from her previous hair salon place. I didn’t have much faith in hair salons, but it has been restored! I’ve been wanting to get an ombré style, and I didn’t know where to go. Plus, I STILL had some red dye from a previous dye job (1 year ago), so I knew this wasn’t going to be an easy job for anyone. I’ve seen so many bad ombré photos on Unilocal; so many stylists claim they know how to do ombré, yet they just brightly color the tips and call it «ombré». THAT’S NOT OMBRE, PEOPLE, JUST FYI. Ombré is supposed to be a gradual fade from one color to the next, a color transition, if you will.
But, I digress. Let’s talk about the stylist.
Mi Sun Moon is very knowledgeable in her field. She asked me when I got the hair dye, and even noticed that I have a tint of green in my hair (who knew!!!)! She gave great recommendation on the color, based on my hair color tone, which came out to be more reddish brown to blonde tips.
BONUS! She also knows how to make a customer feel comfortable. I don’t really like to talk with strangers, but I really enjoyed making small talks with her, and learning more about how to properly take care of your hair. She’s really cool and relaxing. And her doggie was there, which was an extra bonus!
The thing that REALLY put the icing on the cake was that my hair wasn’t damaged AT ALL. One of the things I really don’t like about having my hair dyed is that my hair gets kind of dry and dead. But even after I took a shower, my hair is still going strong, and the color looks even better (it got brighter). I do have to maintain it with some Moroccan oil, but I think that was to be expected.
