Mines and Company is a criminal law firm in Vancouver, British Columbia. Since being called to the British Columbia bar in 1993, Michael Mines has built a successful law practice that focusses on Criminal Code and Motor Vehicle Act defence. Together with associate Ryan Johnson, Mr. Mines enjoys the respect of colleagues, judges, Crown Counsel and our clients. Both Mr. Mines and Mr. Johnson have past experience doing Crown prosecution work. We believe that understanding our cases from the Crown’s perspective gives us an added edge in being able to best defend our clients. Business Owner

Mr. Michael Mines is a Vancouver criminal defense lawyer who has been practicing criminal law exclusively since 1993. Mr. Mines was born and raised in Vancouver. He was educated at the University of British Columbia, having obtained an undergraduate degree in Urban Studies (1983) and a Bachelor of Laws degree (1992). Mr. Mines’ criminal law experience includes part-​time Crown prosecution work. Over the years he has defended clients charged with all manner of Criminal Code and Motor Vehicle Act charges, from shoplifting to impaired driving to murder.

Mr. Mines has obtained successful results for clients charged in British Columbia Provincial and Supreme Courts, including many jury trials.
