Pretty dirty McDonald’s location, but over the years I’ve seen some improvements. There still tends to be a lot of homeless people hanging around here since it’s right by the skytrain station downtown. If that makes you feel uncomfortable, you should probably not visit this location. The line ups are now more organized since they partitioned off separate lines for each cashier, and blocked off the line up overflow into the mall. Decent service, generally fast. I wouldn’t recommend eating in the restaurant though. Not a lot of seating space, and as mentioned above, dirty.

Came in to grab a Peppermint Mocha before walking around. This was the dirtiest McDonald’s I have ever been to. So many overflow garbage and 3 people standing upfront with nothing to do. I told them the garbage is full and they did not even acknowledge me with a response.

First day in Vancouver. Busy day running around. It’s now 10:30pm. Arghhhh I forgot to eat poutine. I had to have poutine. I’ve never had an official poutine in Canada and I know it’s one of the things I had to try in Vancouver. Well I was hoping McDonald’s had poutine since international locations usually have some special item for their country. International McDonald’s are usually way better than the ones in the U.S. I know you’re probably thinking I should probably have it at a pub or a restaurant for my first experience but it was late and there weren’t many places open. This locations is open 24 hours and is next to Tim Horton’s in the Royal Center Mall. The cashier was friendly and yes! They had poutine and they also had a CBO(chicken bacon and fried onion sandwich) which I think was unique to Canada so I had to try it. The sandwich was ok but nothing special to me. The poutine was delicious. It was simple with gravy and cheese curds but I loved it. McDonald’s had some of the best fries and that’s a key ingredient for the poutine! You definitely have to try poutine from McDonald’s if you go to Vancouver!

This McD’s seriously needs a face lift both in the physical appearance and with the staff that every time I am in, needs an attitude adjustment. It’s just not me. This seems to be the case with the way they treat most people. Very limited seating, therefore, it is a grab and go sort of situation.

Standard McDonald’s. Quick service to order and get food. Clean, lots of seating, and free wifi. This McDonald’s is right next to the Hyatt, down the stairs. They also have a TV inside that was playing the news in the morning. And this is a 24 hour McDonald’s which is awesome if you’re staying at the Hyatt and need a late dinner or snack! Try the Southwest Chicken sandwich or poutine. I’ve never seen these in America and the sandwich was actually really good!

Staying next door and my husband wanted a snack. Ordered a Caesar salad and got back to the room and discovered it was covered with bacon! Yes I know many people(myself included) love bacon but my husband is deathly allergic to it. Thankfully he saw it before biting into it or our vacation would have been a disaster

5:30am on Saturday. Tables occupied with the homeless, deep fryer smell mixed with the homeless. Weird guy on the phone yelling and cussing about his car or something. Just gross. Anyway, I ordered OJ, egg bagel and hashbrowns. Took forever to get my order even though I was the only one here. It took them 8 minutes exactly. Never again

This McDonalds wasn’t bad. Food was as expected and I won playing Monopoly! I had the Big Mac and hadn’t been to a McDonalds for food for over a year. Started craving it and came to this one. 24 hours is nice but I won’t be coming back for another year at least.

I’m only giving it a 5-star was because it’s open 24 hours a day and it’s right by my hotel where I stayed for a week. Definitely a mad house during breakfast and lunch time. So either come super early or super late to avoid the lines.

Being a former McDonalds employee from my high school years, I can easily say without a doubt that this is the most disorganized and customer service-lacking McDonalds I’ve experienced to date. I have, however, only experienced the late night and evening shifts, but I imagine there’s something wrong with day management if the night shifts are so terrible. Now, really, I’m mindful that it –is– McDonalds, so I shouldn’t really have my expectations set too high, but from working there in the past I know for a fact that there are really specific ways of managing it. These guidelines actually work really well in the hands of the right employees, and when you have great management the whole restaurant should run really smoothly. With every visit to this McDonalds there has been some kind of delay or problem. I order a meal with a bottle of water and they’re out of bottled water. I order some chicken nuggets and a McFlurry and I have to remind the staff that they forgot my McFlurry, even when the receipt is right in front of them. The amount of times I’ve literally seen my food ready to go across the counter and the staff leisurely pacing their way from the fry station to the back(for seemingly no reason) is maddening — I almost want to jump the counter and grab it myself. It’s frustrating too because a lot of these issues can be solved with a little care and attentiveness. The majority of the staff I’ve seen at the front just don’t really give a damn. And it’s not really a job where you have to give that much of a damn either!

I’ve been here several times over the years, and now it’s the only McD’s in the area. Parking here is horrendous unless you pay an arm and a leg, or enjoy throwing money away in those evil parking meters. The nice thing about this location is that part of the counter actually faces directly into the mall(Royal Centre) corridor, so you don’t even have to physically go inside. Oh, this place is also 24h. The inside has a nice(but somewhat tacky looking) fireplace for those hot lunch dates. As for the bad? It’s a total war zone during lunch time. But so is every other place around here. On a side note, I don’t understand how they can sell a Sausage McMuffin for $ 1.39, and a Sausage McMuffin with Egg for $ 2.99. Yes, adding an egg costs more than the entire freaking sandwich. You can get 2 Sausage McMuffins for less than the price of one with an egg inside.

This continues my reviews of oatmeal in Vancouver. I’m not reviewing anything else about this McDonald’s. The best thing about McDonald’s oatmeal is the price — $ 1.99 plus tax. It’s also the worst thing if it is just Quaker Oats, which it is. For about $ 5 you can buy a 12-pack of the exact same oatmeal and eat it at work. Taste-wise, I don’t think I could tell much of a difference between this and those regular packets. The advantage this oatmeal has is the added fruit: chopped apple and raisins. A real fibre boost, much needed for those of us over 30. The oatmeal does come with maple and brown sugar in a packet — good for those who want to sweeten their cereal. I did not add this, so I cannot comment on the taste. The disadvantage: no nuts so it is lacking in protein. Timewise: I could have prepared a bowl of pre-packaged Quaker oats much quicker than I waited at McD’s. I will give McD’s credit: a much healthier breakfast option, so kudos to them for trying to provide healthier options. My advice: buy a box of Quaker Oats and stow it in your desk along with some raisins and walnuts and have it with a glass of milk for a complete breakfast.

I would normally never eat here, but I have a bunch of coupons for 50% off McDonald’s salads and I have used about 4 of them at this location. The first time, I ordered a Mediterranean grilled chicken salad and when I got back to my office, I discovered they gave me the crispy chicken. The 2nd time, i ordered the Thai salad with crispy chicken and i got the grilled chicken. The 3rd time, they got the whole salad wrong — luckily I checked it at the counter and they got me the right one, but when I got to work, I found out the dressing was wrong. Last time, I checked everything before leaving to make sure it was right. It’s a shame they have screwed up so much because the salads are good. Actually, the only one I really like is the Mediterranean one. It’s like a Greek salad with romaine lettuce. The dressing is good(Renees) and there is feta cheese, grape tomatoes, olives, peppers and red onion in it as well. My friends like the thai version with crispy chicken — just personal preference, I guess. I know they are busy, but I’m hoping they work on checking the orders before giving to the customer.

I ordered 2 snack wraps to go. One crispy chicken and one mac. My order was ready fairly quickly despite the long lines in front of each cashier. My mistake. I should have checked my order before I left. When I returned to the office, I realized I was given 2 chicken wraps. Should the restaurant rely on customers to check their orders? No. Is providing the wrong paid orders to customers acceptable? No.
