History

Established in 1974.

MCC is a global, nonprofit organization that strives to share God’s love and compassion for all through relief, development and peace.

As an Anabaptist organization, we strive to make peace a part of everything we do. When responding to disasters we work with local groups to distribute resources in ways that minimize conflict. In our development work we plan with community and church groups to make sure the projects meet their needs. And we advocate for policies that will lead to a more peaceful world.

They asked me to put my bag behind the counter and when I went back to get it somebody behind the counter had opened two of the pockets. Nothing was missing but don’t trust them when they ask you to put your bag behind the counter.

Very underrated. I came here a long time ago and got some reasonably priced dishware for a dinner party that I was hosting. Prices were good and so was the customer service.

Worth the trip. Friendly staff, great selection and cheap prices. The store is well organized and even has wide enough aisles between the racks (which is rare for a thrift store)
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a well organized toy section in a charity shop.
Their hang tags name a cause which the organization is supporting, which I thought was a nice touch.

MCC is such a great store. The linens are very clean, lots of kitchenware, and today there was a faux French Provincial couch and side chair in superb condition for $ 798.
The book section is wonderful, and not censored. Really, the sign says so! Always a good selection of paperbacks for .75 each, and a good section of German language books for adults and children.
The small appliances are all checked out by staff and signed that they work. Sometimes there is a good deal on a washer/dryer.
Prices are very fair. The best reason to shop here is the volunteer staff; kind folks doing good work. Many items have tags which indicate what the money will purchase eg., the money from this item will purchase a well.

What a solid thrift shop!
What sets this place apart from the herds of thrift and «antique» shops in Vancouver is the care and quality of work the staff puts in to making sure that the items they’re selling are of top quality. This care most certainly comes from the fact that each person working at the shop is a volunteer and the proceeds from the sales go towards various charitable organizations the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) supports.
If the thought of your thrift budget going to whatever projects the MCC supports don’t shop, here you’re missing out/lame but thanks for leaving me some solid finds.

CHEAP! This is one of the cheapest thrift stores I’ve come across. The store isn’t very big, so don’t expect it to be filled with tons and tons of clothing like Value Village. However, they have a nice assortment of women’s clothing, along with furniture and other goodies. I recently bought a satchel from there in good condition, and it was only $ 4.50! I was ecstatic.

I love this store, I go to a private school, and all the girls wear cookie-cutter shoes and coats. But I like to wear my leather jacket, and doc martins.(Which is against the rules) I bought an oscar de la renta jacket for my dad for $ 4.50, and tna pants for $ 1.00. I recommend this store to all my friends, but im sure none of them have actually been to a thrift store. Im not afraid to tell anyone where my clothes are from. Thanks to everyone who volunteers and works there.

I love this thrift store! They have an awesome selection of glass ware! And some of it is quite antique! I only picked up an original Stanley Park Brewing glass for $ 0.50 and knitting needles for $ 0.35. But there was so much more I wanted to buy. In fact, I might actually go back and get these Alexander Keith beer mugs I had my eyes set on.
