The business itself was established in 2010 with one focus: to educate, create and lay the foundation for a locally designed and individually tailored wardrobe.

A relationship between a tailor and client is exactly that — a relationship. It evolves over time by working together and constantly striving to improve the product and the process.

As a person Martin Fisher didn’t exactly exist — the names are actually a reference to my late grandfather’s middle names. In a similar fashion the logo references my late grandmother’s maiden name which was Salmon. She was a London-​trained seamstress who provided me with my first real insights into the industry. She also served as the production manager for my first design project — a five piece capsule collection tailored for my grade seven year of elementary school.

My formal training began at the Ryerson School of Fashion in Toronto. This provided a strong introduction into the field but my true education occurred within the shops of the tailors whom I hassled into providing me with mini-​apprenticeships. It is through their guidance, patience, and desire to pass knowledge on to the next generation that I sit where I am today. I am grateful for their generosity and look forward to doing the same for the next generation.
