Simple clean interiors, lots of seating, decent selection of pastries. Not a lot but there is a balance of sweet and savory. It is bus accessible with some minimal walking. Customer service is friendly and prices are decent.

Good place for quick coffee and pastry, didn’t find it particularly outstanding in terms of food or service. Especially when you have The Town at corner of Knight and Kingsway. Had their cheesecake, did the job. Also offer catering. free parking at front. You come here if you want some peace and quiet.

Pretty solid. Had a spinach croissant-type thing and a cappuccino. Both were satisfying, good but not mind blowing. Bumped up from a 3 to a 4 star due to the wonderful welcoming demeanour of the owner. Wasn’t feeling like anything sweet today, but the fruit pastries looked excellent. Will definitely return.

If you are in the mood for a delicious pastry Marche is the spot. The owners are incredibly kind and hospitable. They also make an amazing breakfast!

The service was extremely good, the food tasted so homey and and flavourful without being greasy or over seasoned, and the fresh squeezed orange juice was to die for. The owner was really friendly. I am ready to go back tomorrow!

I’ve never eaten here. In fact I’m writing this in hopes of some attention. I walked by Marchè last night around 11pm and there was a dog inside. A big black dog with a toy. Seemingly alone. With all the lights off. The only reason I noticed was my dog ran for the window. My dog who is about the same size wanted to play with something the store. And we realized it was not a statue of a dog. But an actual dog. Just left alone. At night. In a restaurant. So my question is… Do the owners use their store front at night as doggy day care? Does their business license permit dogs to hang out around food? My assumption is not. So let me know. If this is standard practice… I’ll take my review down. Otherwise, buyer beware. Dog hair might be on the menu.

Great desserts, good croissants(i believe the other coffee shop down the street resells them), good coffee, and a very nice owner. Probably the best café in the neighborhood. Live music, too!

i went to this bakery after hearing about it at my school as the owners son is in my class. as soon as i walked in i was greeted enthusiastically and was offered samples of a very good short break cookie. after my mo and i ordered(i got the apple cinnamon bun) he warmed it up for us and my mother ordered a coffee. when the coffee was brought to her there was a beautiful heart in foam on the centre. my cinnamon bun was the best i had ever had as it is not the traditional kind you would see. halfway through out treats he brought over two bags with complementary goodies inside(a great shortbread cookie and a sort of coconut brittle) they were absolutely delicious and he made sure that we had everything we needed before walking away. this business is owned by an amazing family and the man who owns it used to be a top chef and own 4 factories back in Egypt before his family had to relocate due to the riots that happened. i highly recommend this place for anyone who wants amazing food that is made fast and a cheery environment. in all i will definitely be going back very soon and most likely will be bringing the whole family.

A friend of mine did an open mic acoustic set here a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t eat anything but the breakfasts were getting rave reviews. I guess the coffee was ok and the service was down homey, but slow as eff…

This place is very cute! Just opened recently(it seems, they were hanging a «grand opening» sign when we walked in). We stopped on our way to another coffee spot, because we were craving something in the espresso family before going to the grocery. Rather than walking a few more blocks, we thought we’d give this place a try. Ordered a hot chocolate and a latte(based on the recommendation of the person tending the counter), an they were very tasty. We weren’t going to get any pastry, but we ended up sitting for a while, so decided to grab some croissant. The pistachio variety was very good, covered in actual pistachio and with swirls of green folded into the croissant dough. Seems like they’re still getting set up, hopefully/maybe there will be macaron in the future? :) One can dream… For now, I give a solid 3.5 stars.

* Sad * The bright new sign signaling a new opening of a bakery/café on this stretch of Kingsway made me happy. Trying to find a parking spot made me sad. Walking up and seeing a sign that read, «Roast Beef sandwich special $ 4.50» made me happy. Entering and seeing a big open empty space with several of the display fridges empty made me sad. Hearing that they did in fact have the sandwich made me happy. Waiting 25 minutes for them to make and«grill» the sandwich made me sad. Hearing that my sandwich was ready made me happy. Touching it and realizing the outside was warm but the inside still fridge cold after 25 minutes of «grilling» made me sad. Photo: Seeing the pickles and olives on the side made me happy. Biting into the off-putting pickle made me sad. Seeing the generous amount of meat made me happy. Biting into the roast beef and sensing the corned beef nature of it made me confused/sad. Conclusion: This bakery/café made me sad.

Finally a little competition in the neighborhood! I was transported to baking heaven. This business is still in the soft opening phase, but pastry chef and owner, Helal, already has some pretty tasty offerings. Today I tried the Apple Galette and the Apple Danish as well as a latte. The pastry was so fresh despite having been in a refrigerated case. I had a nice chat with the owner/chef who beamed that everything is made on site. In a few weeks they’ll be selling fresh loaves of bread :) This is my new favorite neighborhood haunt!
