A decent family style chinese restaurant with good sized portions. Nice modern interior and good service.

Decided to try this place one night with 2 friends instead of Oscar’s across the street. We went around 9 pm and there was literally no one there. The waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered the honeymoon fried rice, cod filet & cream corn on rice, a plate of gai lan, and deep fried buns. All the dishes were delicious. — The honey moon fried rice was tasty and the sauces weren’t overpowering so they could be mixed together. — The cod was filet was fried to perfection; slightly crunchy on the outside and soft/tender on the inside. — Gai lan was cooked just right, crunchy not soft. — The buns were also fried just right, the color was a light even beige, oil was fresh and buns were of decent size. We were worried about time because they close at 10 pm, but the waitress reassured us many times that it wouldn’t be a problem and we could stay later as the owners would still be here. We ended up leaving at around 11 pm and the owners were totally fine with it and greeted us when we left. Wish I had saved some pictures instead of only posting on snapchat. 10⁄10 Would definitely go back for traditional chinese food.

Around 2 weeks old, another hongkonger’s café. Huge place near my place of work, i witnessed the place when they are building it, pretty neat neighbourhood, near school, near groceries and bus stop. Parking is free underground and street parking, wifi is free aswell password is by the wall near the cashier. Service is good bilingual crew and most of them were friendly when i came, quick service hot tea and water right away. decors are minimal theres still lots of flowers from the opening day, large money trees in one corner, 2 television inside, tables are clean not greasy… noise level is moderate wash room is immaculately clean well its a new place. still… I had the lunch special. i picked up beef with bitter melon and black beans on plain rice plus i ordered a togo of my favorite fried rice which is the diced chicken with salted fish, it was good the only thing i dont like is they put some lettuce on it… if you bring it home it moists though. Pricing is reasonable just almost thesame with other restaurant with thesame category. decent chinese foods my review is juast merited on what i ordered that day there are tons of dishes in the menu it was my late lunch actually, i had a pleasant experience, im satisfied with the foods i ordered plus i found the crew that day all friendly. Ill come back again soon with friends so we can try some other dishes… oppsss the place smells clean aswell…

LP just opened for about 2 weeks. I paid my first visit tonight and I, LIKE it totally! I don’t understand why people are so eager to write really critical reviews on a new establishment, what’s in it for them to run it down? Don’t they know it still working on the kinks? To me LP is 4 stars+ at least… It is clean, bright, spacious, large and comfy seats. Friendly service, reasonable prices with good portion, yummy food(China-wide cuisine) with nice presentation. It is not Cash only, equipped with separate M/F washrooms, ample free underground parkings. There aren’t too many decent restaurants in this area so to speak. I am very positive to return for more with my friends and family. Nuff said.

Lucky Plus is a Hong Kong-style café restaurant. I think they recently opened as there were still many bouquet signs in front when I visited with my family. The menu seems to have a wide variety of foods from the simple rice and noodle dishes to the more elaborate like braise lamb hot pot. The ambience seem nice with the tasteful décor, with good comfortable seating that is not too crowded. But that’s where the good side ends. Our server seemed very rushed to take our order after we sat down(at 11am just when they opened). She came to our table 3 times in a short span of 5 minutes. We did not realize why until we placed our order for a couple of appetizer dishes(Hand shredded chicken and 7-flavor deep fried squid) and a couple of entrée dishes(Fried noodles with chicken, Mapo tofu rice, Sauteed shrimp). It took almost 35 minutes until our first dish showed up which seem an eternity when one is hungry for brunch. When the food dishes showed up at last, we were very disappointed at every dish. The hand shredded chicken was more of cut-up pieces of chicken with little taste and too many pieces of skin thrown in. The 7-flavour deep-fried squid tasted bland — I tasted salty which is just one flavour as I tried to find more flavour. The fried noodles looked good but lacked anything special(including taste!). The sauteed shrimps were not well de-veined so tasted bitter. We all thought what could possibly go wrong with mapo tofu rice? Well, the mapo sauce was definitely from a jar so that was pretty hard to mess up, but the rice was too hard(tasted like rice left in a refrigerator overnight). Very disappointed at the food at Lucky Plus! To add to the poor service and bad quality food, we were presented with the same dishes we had already eaten 3 times over! If the food quality was better we might have taken up their offer! But we were honestly not interested in more of the same bad dishes. We hope that Lucky Plus is just testing their kitchen process to make improvements and honing their waiting service to provide a more enjoyable experience for their customers. But they will need to do this quickly as many traditional Chinese clients like myself would not likely go back after the one bad experience.

I’ve been watching this place being built since summer. They finally had their grand opening last week on the 17th of December. When walking in … First impressions … Nice!!! It is a roomy restaraunt. It doesn’t looks so big from the side, but once i walked in, I was impressed! The seats were quite comfortable. Of course being brand new the dishes were perfect(meaning no chips). We were here for dinner so it was dark outside already. I can imagine how nice and bright it would be during the day, the North and East walls are glass. Lots of natural light. Once seated we were brought our tea, hot water and menus right away. I will admit that I thought it was a noodle house. One of my daughters had said her gf said it was a soup noodle place. Maybe for lunch? So … having said that … I was a little taken back by the prices of the entrees. We ended up ordering three dishes and a soup. Honeymoon Fried Rice, House Special Fried Noodles, Gailan w/oyster Sauce and a chicken and corn soup. All of them were winners! Perfectly seasoned. Great textures. Crispy noodles. Crunchy yet tender vegetables. Receiving the bill was a little painful … $ 60 for those three simple dishes and soup. I would like to try this place at lunch time. I forgot to ask the waitress about their lunch menu. Whether it’s dim sum or soup noodles. Either way I look forward to coming for a noontime meal.
