It’s pretty good here if you work/​live nearby but parking at City Centre Mall, can be chaotic with the twists and turns here. So not the best one to go to if you’re in a rush.
As such, the independents do offer better service; it’s smaller than most.

Spirits are lifted whenever I can purchase beer at the same price as the trusty BCL! Cheapest cold beer in town that I have found.
Too bad the staff normally treat me the same as the bum in front of me who just returned cans to buy his beer. Oh well, won’t stop me from continuing to visit.

Same prices as the LDB, better hours and good selection in the cooler! I requested Tin Whistle’s Black Widow ale and they brought it in. These guys are great! They are well worth supporting. They are trusting that the lower prices will bring in enough people to make up for their low margin and so far it seems to be working for them. I hope it continues to do so, so give them your business!
City Square might seem like a pain for parking, but there are several 15 minute spots off of Ash street outside so you don’t have to go into the underground parking.
Great selection of craft and import beer. I like a good selection of quality inexpensive wines and they get two big thumbs up for that. They even sell mead and Sea Cider.

Really good selection of wines and beers that are often hard to find elsewhere. I’ve never had an issue with the staff– I have always found them helpful and friendly. The great thing is that they have BC Liquor Store pricing.

Lousy service Decent beer. After looking at there large IPA’s selection for a about 2 Min’s. A Woman who I think was a manager came out of darken room rudely asked if she could help me, I said i was making my choice I wound up with 2 local IPAs. When I went to the check out the cue was a bit deep. The same woman was no were to be found to help out with the til. Clearly more interested in making a sale the providing service

It’s on my route to and from the gym, well mostly from the gym as a reward for going ;) The wine selection in a standard mix with the odd, oh my I have to try that, which keeps me dropping back in. They also have a good beer selection and some very exotic ciders and fruit beers. If you need to reward yourself drop by.

This wine shop is tucked inside the City Square Mall across from the Safeway. It’s so easy to jet across after you’ve done your shopping and grab a bottle for dinner. But it’s got such a great selection of bottles, including lots of delicious choices from BC.
I often stop by looking for a bottle to accompany a meal and the staff is always on hand to answer any wine-​related questions. They’re helpful, but not pushy and don’t judge you in the way you know you’re often judged by snooty oenophiles.
A great way to buy wine is to taste it first, which makes Thursday (and sometimes Friday) the best afternoon to drop by Lennox. They host a wine tasting at the counter. While you’re at the counter, look up … way up on the shelves and you’ll find a great selection of dessert wines from BC. Dessert wines (especially coveted ice wines) make excellent boozy presents. If you’re traveling and want to take a bottle to thank your host, ice wine is just a small bottle and easy to pack!
