Delicious organic espresso(though no decaf option). The most unique tasting chocolate I’ve ever had — soo good — which the knowledgeable staff said is due to the type of bean they use from Colombia. And great ethics for sourcing all of their products, supporting small scale fair-trade employment in Colombia. The fellow working there was clearly passionate about their practices there, and it was infectious.

I was excited when this place opened up because it is close to my work and there’s not much for lunch in this area. The food is good, if they have what you want. Although they have a menu of different sandwiches, half of the time they’re out of them. All of their sandwiches are pre-made, and when you do order one it takes over 15 minutes to get it. I don’t understand how it takes so long to get a pre-made sandwich. The matcha latte was good though. One time I went in and the owner was talking on the phone for about 5 minutes before acknowledging me. I’d recommend this place only if you can put up with the poor customer service, are not in a rush, and are willing to try anything on the menu since they seem to be out of most of the sandwiches every time I go.

I came in at 12:30, and they were out of all of their food, except samosas and one single Turkey panini. Just one. It was delicious, mind you, but I would have liked to have something else. If this happens again, they downgrade to 3 stars. But for now, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. The coffee was really good. Just bitter enough. Strong. Like Columbian coffee should be. The proprietor clearly cares about the comfort of his guest. When we didn’t finish our second samosa, he came over and asked if we wanted it wrapped up. I’ve never seen that in a coffee shop before. Impressed. The space would have been awkward if there were more the six people sitting down, but fortunately we were only two.

Wonderful coffee, great service. Make sure you read about how the coffee is planted and harvested!

Incredibly nice people in a cute little café with comfortable ambience. Their roast beef ciabatta panini was delicious and definitely hit the spot. Add on a lovely cup of dark hot chocolate and they had my heart. Don’t expect super quick in-and-out service here, but it’s definitely a community café. Come when you want to learn more about the café, the owner, the products because she’ll spend the time to tell you about it if you’re all ears.

If you’re looking for Latin coffee, than this is the place, however, I’ve seen and read about better places. The shop is small. You would think that it would be busy considering that it is one of two coffee shops surrounded by at least 10 or more car repair shops in the area, however, it was dead and for a reason. It took the staff literally 15 minutes if not more per order. As for relaxing and waiting for your drink… don’t count on it. The seats are horrible. They look trendy, however, an all metal chair is very uncomfortable, even for someone like myself whom has a considerable amount of junk in the trunk. I am purely commenting on their service as I didn’t have anything to eat other than a cup of plain steam milk due to dietary restrictions, therefore, this review is really based on the décor and service.

Fantastic coffee with crema, great paninis and baked goods too! I loved it and will go again if I’m passing by. The owner is really nice and welcoming. I would have liked to have seen more latin type foods or more selection of baked items or sandwiches, but what they have is good.

Five satiny smooth stars for their perfect lattes! I’ve had a couple in the past month when I was emptying my wallet next door at the Gourmet Warehouse. Definitely the best I’ve had since Discovery Coffee in Victoria.

Café con leche, my southern amore! Sure, I might just love to order coffee in another language, but it always excites me to see it written just so on a menu. Sweet and savoury goodies adorn the front case while sweet baristas(wo)man the counter. For me, it was all about the empanadas. Gluten-free, made with corn and filled with either meat or veggie, they were tasty, even reheated. But more than the nibbles, I really like the space. Bamboo walls and ceiling(like the tiki bar at the Waldorf’s little sister), a long narrow bench and small tables are perfect for pitstopping after battling the Gourmet Warehouse weekend rush. Definitely come here for some apres rest and peace.

Another clear sign that things are looking up over here on the east side of town. Just west of Vancouver’s East Village, this small, beautiful flagship café offers direct trade, shade grown Colombian coffee drinks and light lunches including Panini and beautiful, locally baked deserts. They also sell eco-friendly hand crafted gift baskets and of course their amazing whole bean coffee. You can find this coffee at many local food stores like Donald’s Market,(just up in the Village) and even right next door at Gourmet Warehouse. When you look around the café to the interior design you can’t help but to enjoy the use of Bamboo as a wall covering, adding another dimension to the room. Bamboo is another sustainable resource, which only ads to the authenticity of Latin Organics ideals. Friendly and informative proprietor Marta adds to the ambiance of this intimate café. With free wireless and changing specials this is an attractive little oasis will win both hearts and repeat customers. So get over there, grab a bite and slurp up some«black gold» and support small coffee growers by knowing that you’re drinking Direct Trade coffee.

Finally another lunch place within walking distance of work. However, this café only has 4 sandwiches and the soups are on the menu but not available yet. They’ve been open 2 months now, and the space is very cute. A few benches and only 3 stools at the window bar. I didn’t get the sandwich I ordered after all; she gave me a different sandwich, but it was still very good for a pre-prepared sandwich that was grilled on a panini. $ 7.95 for sandwiches, drinks are around $ 3. Next door to the Gourmet Warehouse.
