I came here with a gift coupon for a facial & photo rejuvenation, and had a wonderful experience. Parvin did my facial; she has a warm, gentle assurance and motherly attention that made me feel I was cared for; that this was a human connection, not just another client. She had a lovely variety of classical music playing, which was a nice change from the generic new-​age dribble that many spas play.
You can indeed hear exuberant chat from the other rooms or hallway sometimes, but that didn’t bother me.
I’d definitely go back.

Margo, the owner, is great but her receptionist is pretty terrible. Their system is also pretty bad. Receptionist keeps telling me my one year unlimited laser hair removal sessions purchased from Social Shoppers has expired. She says they count the one year from when I paid and according to her. I paid in October 2012, yet my calendar shows I didn’t receive my first session til March 2013. I even check my financial statements and I don’t see paying $ 21.36 in Oct 2012. Why would I pay so early?! Alright I can give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe I paid in October 2012. but isn’t it more logical to start the 1 year when you start your first session? In the end, the lady gave me one last session in December 2013. I figured I can afford to let them rip me off one session. All I am saying is, when you buy the 1 year unlimited voucher, keep track of your dates and appointments since their system cannot be trusted.

This place is cute and clean, but my experience wasn’t awesome.
I had a Social Shopper voucher for 3 infrared sauna treatments. Their hours aren’t particularly convenient for people who are busy during the day but I did manage to get a couple of sessions booked — which took a few tries.
The first session was fine, except the sauna is in the same room as the laundry facilities, which makes it seem a bit cheap. Other than that it was clean.
The first time I booked the second session no one was there when I showed up: lights off, door locked. The appointment was for 10 AM, and I was told they opened at 9:30. I at least expected someone to be in the shop even if (as they told me later on the phone) «Infrared sessions start at 10 AM.» I gave up waiting and left a note asking them to call me. (They did.)
I rebooked and went back. There was some terrifically obnoxious pop music radio station playing and believe me the sauna is not soundproof. Then I realized after about 15 minutes that the sauna was not retaining its heat. The lights had gone out in it a few minutes earlier. Bad electrical connection? Not plugged in all the way? Between that and the intrusive music I was done. I only had about a week left to get the last session (and rebook that one) and so I simply wrote it off as a learning experience.

It really pains me to write this review because I really like the staff at this place, but unfortunately I had little to no success with the laser hair removal here.
The staff are very nice and professional and the center is relatively clean. I would not go as far to call this place «a spa» (not when you can hear the Unilocal of people undergoing laser treatments through the walls), but as a treatment center it is totally fine and very reasonably priced.
Unfortunately for me, after undergoing 7 laser Brazilian sessions I have seen nearly no results — maybe at tops a 15% reduction in hair growth overall. There was absolutely no hair loss («shedding») after the first 4 sessions, and only very minimal shedding on the final 3. Now I recognize this is not the case for everyone (a friend of mine saw around a 60% decrease in hair after 6 laser Brazilian sessions here), but I should have been a prime candidate (light skin and dark hair) and really saw only the most minimal results so I can’t justify more than a 2 star rating based on my own experience.
Their prices are very cheap, especially if you have a Groupon, but as the laser intensity increases it can get quite painful. Personally if I’m going to endure the pain I would like to see some decent results — and I’d much rather shell out more dough to see these results faster if it means enduring fewer of these painful sessions.

After finishing all my treatments on my underarms and Brazilian (6) I am happy with the results. Tatiana is so nice, educated, skilled and conscious of making you feel comfortable. At the end I have about 15% of hair growth under my arms and about 25% on my Brazilian area. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I got a really good result after three laser hair removal treatments at this place.
I want to give some comments about the feedback left by S.C. She said she has experienced a substantial reduction of hair at another place and once she came to Kitsilano Spa Center there was virtually no hair fell out. This is quite normal for facials, electrolysis, or laser. Usually for any har removal treatments of facial treatments you would experience a greater result at the first several treatments, especially the second treatment. But when you get more and more treatments, the results will slow down. If you keep going to the place you said you experienced a great result for over ten treatments, you will notice the results get slowing down as well. This is true even for work out, exercises. You will expereince bigger weight loss at the beginning and you will not notice any more results after a period of time even if you keep working out.
Rush service does not mean they miss some spots of your treatment areas. Some machines can target larger areas if the machine they used is a good model. The other places you used did it slow might due to the reason that they use a poorer model in terms of efficiency. That might also be an indication of the inexperience of the technician. You know, people do things slower if they have less experience.

I bought a coupon through social shopper for 3 underarm and brazilian laser treatments. I have previously undergone at least six laser treatments on these areas at other laser centers and experienced substantial hair reduction. I experienced the same difficulty with getting an appointment expressed by others in the filtered reviews. The treatment itself was very rushed. At all other laser centers I have visited, Brazilian and underarms takes between 20 and 30 minutes to do a thorough job and not miss spots, my treatment at Kitsilano Laser & Spa took around 3 minutes. As expected, virtually none of the hair fell out, likely because the technician did not actually treat most of the area in the rushed appointment. I would not waste your money to come here, even for the $ 30 per treatment you are paying through Social Shopper it is a rip off if none of the hair falls out.
