We came here after standing in line for 15 minutes at a hipster doofus restaurant. This place was way better. They have a snack menu but make sure you also consider the meal options on the whiteboard. The chana soup was really good as were the meatball kebabs.

Definitely didn’t like the service I received here. The food is also a bit more expensive than their counterpart, Safari Snack House(both places serve the EXACTSAMEMENUFOLKS!). Both places are tiny and cater to catering(couldn’t find a better use of words there lol). The difference is that Safari Snack House has much better service, cheaper food, and they’re upfront. When I asked the lady at Kilimanjaro Snack House if she would give me a small chutney for free with the unfried samosas, she said yes, but when I went to pay she sneakily removed my chutney and put in tamarind sauce instead. Very unethical business practice, but I didn’t stop her because even though I gave her $ 9 tip for a $ 14 meal(because I like supporting small businesses!), I will never come back to this restaurant again, even though the parking is better and it’s closer than Safari Snack House. I much prefer the owners at Safari Snack house, and believe it or not, customer service and ethical business practices matter!

I went in here with a regular and wow! Everything seems to be hand made right there, with care. The green and brown sauces really add. Savory, delicious, delicacies. Took a few samples home. The brown balls and the samosas reheat well. Keep it short…15 sec in the microwave

First time in here — the food is awesome! Had the chana bateta. Wildly flavorful. A party in my mouth. The place is a bit squished for space, but it’s OK. Friendly atmosphere, and affordable prices. Damn tasty. Go!

My partner saw Kilimanjaro Snack House on our drive towards downtown and decided to stop by. It used to be a phở restaurant and we were curious as to what the new establishment served. Once we entered the place, we noticed that, from the name to the interior décor to the menu, EVERYTHING was so similar to Safari Snack House & Grill. Now, my partner and I have been big fans of Safari Snack House & Grill on Canada Way in Burnaby(See my multi-year review here: ) so I was convinced there was some connection between the 2 establishments. Asked staff. Turned out the original owner(s) of Safari had sold their business and opened this one! AHA The food was homey and delicious, as usual. My favourite was the tea dessert«paak» — the flavour was so complex, it tasted like a combination of pistachio, tea, coconuts, almond, all mixed in whole wheat goodness. It was just awesome. We just stopped by for a snack; can’t wait to try their feature meals next time.

wandered in randomly while walking down’ kingsway. staff was very friendly and very welcoming. they sat us down and gave us our options verbally. i chose a bitter mellon curry and my uncle chose a chicken curry. the mellon curry was fantastic, it came with chipati and yogurt dipping sauce: one of the best curries ive had in this city, easily. my uncle loved his curry as well, i tasted the sauce and it was pretty tasty. i will definitely be back and bringing friends. would be surprised if this place didn’t blow up. highly recommended.

Great place. Delicious home style food in a very warm family atmosphere. It was very interesting to learn that the menu changes every day. I tried a coconut curry bean soup and samosas and were delicious yum. The owners are very nice and friendly. I will be back for sure.

Wow I’m glad I found this place! Initially I thought it was going to be north Indian food(which I would have been happy to have in the area) but it’s so much more. Wait for it… Indian | East African fusion. Say whaaat? So what exactly does that mean? I’m not sure but I do know many dishes have coconut milk(kuku paka chicken, hello!) and that clearly equals deliciousness. Been coming here on and off for six months and have tried several chicken and veg dishes and all have been a winner. I wish I could find the magic words to describe the food but I’m stuck as it’s not like anything I’ve had before. Yes certainly many Indian flavours but they’re «softer»(while still layered and still complex) and fused with other tastes. The owners are always very warm and friendly which makes up for the simple seating environment. They’re primarily a catering company and a handful of tables and mostly day time hours points to that. Worth checking out if you’re like me and have not had Indian | East African fusion.
