I saw some really good reviews here and thought I’ll buy a bunch of buns and review them. It is a very small bakery with limited selections. The ladies were nice, but a bit pushy(standard for all Chinese places). I was excited to try the buns when I get home, but my mood was quickly dampened. Unfortunately, the fillings in the buns were lacking and portions are smaller than other places that offered cheaper buns. The taste was not too bad, but really, I was only tasting the buns(because there was not much filling to taste…) Unless I’m desperate for buns when I’m in that area, I will likely not come back to this bakery.

This place is in my hood. The buns are ok. I especially like the sugar donut. The apple tarts are average. The ladies are pushy and try to up sell you all day long.

Another one of my go to favorite Asian bakeries in the city, especially their buns and mango rolls. Cash encouraged. Great customer service.

Definitely my favorite Chinese bakery in the East Van area. They offer a wide variety of either sweet or savory treats(I love the pineapple barbecue pork bun and the fruit tarts the best). I’ve never gotten anything there that I didn’t like. The staff is always very friendly!

There are a lot of Chinese style bakeries in this area, but this one is by far my favorite. They’re small, but they have a great variety of things, from frozen baozi you can cook at home, to a whole case full of savory buns. They also, of course, offer a variety of cakes and sweets. Typically they have slices of specialty cakes available, but sometimes you’ll see a whole cake in the case. They also offer roll cakes with a variety of cream and cake flavors(my favorites are coffee and chocolate), either as a whole cake or slices. One of my favorite things they offer are tiny fruit tarts, which are very simple, just some cream in a little buttery tart crust with a single piece of fruit on top. Fruit varies by season, and I love all varieties I have tried so far. :) They also offer thickly sliced bread, in plain(usually) as well as raisin or whole wheat from time to time. They also have rolls usually. And some pop in the fridge, if you like! Everything is very very affordable and while small, it’s the perfect place to stop in and just grab something. Always lots on offer, even in the evenings, and always fresh and delicious. I’ve never gotten something I didn’t like!
