Jungle Swing’s Stomp it Off Dance is Vancouver’s premier Swing Dance event! Join the crowd every Saturday for a great night of music, dancing and socializing. Jungle Swing specializes in offering a great entertainment experience for Vancouverites who want a social and engaged night life. As hosts to Vancouver’s premier Swing Dance event, we offer a great atmosphere for both new and avid dancers. We host regular live Jazz music nights featuring the Lower Mainland’s best Swinging and Hot Jazz musicians to compliment our DJ nights. Simply put, we give you a unique and friendly evening of social entertainment that can’t be matched.

History

Established in 2003.

Like many small businesses, Jungle Swing was created by accident. With a forced change in work due to an employer’s bankruptcy along side a desire for more Swing Dance events in Vancouver, I decided to take advantage of a BCIT program that helped me learn to build and develop a business.

Jungle Swing was ultimately launched in August of ’03 as a business offering Swing Dance lessons for Vancouver and the surrounding areas. By November of that year, we were also running our own Saturday night dance to give new and experienced dancers a place to socialize, have fun, and practice their craft.

In ’08 Jungle Swing moved the dance lessons to Rhythm City Productions and has focused on the dance events end of the business. In July and August of 2010, Jungle Swing co-​produced Dancing in the Street with the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Assn. and SalsaVancouver. We’re working on making this event an annual offering to boost the visibility of Swing in Vancouver.
