Scammy business. NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES EVER. Doesn’t matter if the furniture is broken, you hate it, or it took months to receive. You are screwed. Good luck with that.
Oh and read the super tiny fine print. Take your $$ and go elsewhere: support ethical business practices.

Do not go to that Store unless you are really desperate and do not have to talk to the sales associate. I wanted to buy a sofa and all the things the sale associate told me is a LIE. Luckily I found out before I made the purchase. UTTERLY LIERS ! I still can not believe it and felt highly disrespected.

I thought finding the couch I liked would be the hard part… little did I know that finding out when it will be delivered or just getting a date confirmation would be the hard part. I ordered the couch the first weekend in August and it is now the end of September and despite almost daily phone calls I still don’t know when the couch will be delivered. When I call to get a delivery date they say they need to call the factory where it is being made and never call back. If they were to call back and update that they are still looking into it or can’t get a hold of the factory that would be one thing but no response and having to go through the process everyday has been so frustrating… so disappointing. I really hope the furniture is okay but from the reviews already posted it looks pretty bleak.

If you are looking for customer service, ANY customer service at all, this is NOT the place to shop. After 4 weeks of hearing nothing, it took me FIVE phone calls to finally get an answer as to when my 84-​year-​old mother’s furniture was being delivered. And those five phone calls were not polite and pleasant. The staff were brusque and unhelpful. When I finally spoke to our sales rep, Raj, he was rude and argumentative: «Do you think this is all I have to do today?» or when questioned why he hadn’t called me back on the day he said he would, «Monday’s not over yet.» Today my poor mother waited over FIVE HOURS for her furniture; a delivery that was supposed to take place around noon finally being delivered at 5:30 and without so much as a phone call or an apology. Whether the order is correct or has been delivered in good shape remains to be seen, but up to this point I would say JR Furniture’s treatment of my mother is absolutely unacceptable. Don’t shop here!

I’ve bought several pieces from JR furniture over the past 12 years. I’ve had great dealings with them from the purchase to the deliver.
I’ve bought 2 couches, 1 dresser, 1 lounge chair 1 hide a bed. All were from the discount isle in the back. If you know exactly what you want and want to save a few dollars, that’s the place to go. I’ve had to drop by and see what they have a few times in order to find what I needed but in the long run, I saved a lot of money.

This place is ridiculous. I cannot believe they are still up and running. Back in mid november I went to JR and purchased a leather sofa from a very eager and sketchy sales associate named Sammy. He told me my sofa would be delivered within 3 — 4 weeks. After the 4 weeks was up I called the store to see how much longer, Sammy told me he would check and call me back in 20 minutes. Never did. The next day I called JR back again and asked Sammy the same question, all I wanted to know was how much longer I had to wait. He told me the exact same thing, that he would check with Ashley furniture and call me back, NEVER DID. I called back frustrated at this point and asked to speak directly to a manager, who told me due to the holidays it would actually be 4 — 6 weeks. Ok. Weird how they couldn’t have called to tell me, and I had to hunt them down. However after waiting 4 weeks already I decided 2 more wouldn’t be the end of world. The manager agreed it was the sales associate Sammy’s fault and said he would thrown a Vase as a gift for the delay of the sofa. I appreciated the manager’s gesture (not the vase because really a vase costs what, $ 20?) but his apology. Okay so now. 6 weeks later. Have not received a single call or email from JR, so I call them and am told by the manager that the sofa was actually put on back order and that it would be ANOTHER 2 WEEKS! TWO MONTHS FOR A SOFA? not to mention JR couldn’t be bothered to let me know? The manager gave me the same bullshit apology and At this point I asked for my money back. He told me my money would be put back on my Visa in 3 days. That very same day I went to the Brick and bought a sofa which was delivered to my home in 3 days! 7 days pass and the money is not on back on my Visa. 2 weeks later the money still has not been refunded to me, and I HAVE BEEN CHARGED LATE FEES FROM JR! I called the manager and was told to come in the store so he could manually refund my money back onto my card, and why couldn’t he tell me that 2 weeks ago? JR Furniture is a joke of a business and every single one of their employees is full of fucking shit. Stay as far away from this place as possible.

I bought furniture from JR and I would not recommend it to anyone! Horrible experience and garbage quality. The quality is horrible, you feel the wood poking through the couch. Uncomfortable when you lean back or to the side. My favorite part are the cushions have worn down in a matter of months to become super soft and uneven. JR messed up our order SEVERAL times and we finally gave up. Contacting someone at the store is a joke.
I would NEVER recommend anyone to shop for furniture here. The lack of customer support and care for their own products speaks volumes.

I already filed a complaint on Nov 2 2014.
On Sept 15^th I ordered two ashley couches in the colour stone from Jr furniture on Grandview highway in Vancouver. I asked if I would please have them by the 1^st of Oct as that is when I was to move in. The sales rep Raj said no problem I will put a rush on it. I handed him $ 500 cash towards my $ 800 balance. Leaving us with $ 300 remaining.
On oct 1^st I did not have any couches however they said they would both be in on the 4^th the store called me to let me know that they are in — okay I went to pick up both couches on the 4^th. I get there and he tells me only 1 had arrived and the other would be in on the 16^th of October. I left with my one couch and did not pay anything towards to reminding until my second piece had arrived.
On the 16^th I got a phone call letting me know my couch was here. I went to pick it up – it was the incorrect colour this couch is dark grey. He said take this couch for now– and Pay $ 200 and I will get head office to take off 100 for you. He wrote this all down on the receipt. I paid by debit. I called two weeks later as no one followed up with me and they tell me my couch will not be there until Nov 1^st 2014. On that day the manager (mel) called me and told me the couch will be delivered between 12 – 2. No one showed up I kept calling no one answered until 4:53 pm he told me he had no idea where the couch was and that he will call me on the 2^nd. No one called me again. I didn’t get called until the 4^th he told me he was delivering my couch — he went to the wrong address and finally showed up at 4:30 with this piece of paper.
Stating all my customer services will be resolved if I signed it.
Now at this point my balance is paid in FULL the couch is mine. I refused to sign this paper as I have a complaint in with the bbb already stating i would like the full cost of the love seat returned to me and the correct love seat to be in my home. They refused to give me my couch because I didn’t sign this paper.

My experience with JR started off as a 5 star experience that has quickly turned into a shit show.
Upon moving into our new suite our sectional couldn’t fit into the house (like we couldn’t even get it in the door) so we have had to rush out and buy new furniture. We checked a few stores before trying JR and quickly found what we were looking for here in a price range we could afford.
The sales agents range from vultures circling for fresh meat trying to poach each others customers to just not caring about your existence in the store. So we cautiously told a few to leave us alone that we were already being helped by someone else as we wanted to ensure he got his rightful commission.
We went on a day that they had a no tax sale and were swiftly offered free delivery (a $ 60ish value) and I heard on the radio if you ask for a discount you get 20% off. When we asked for this the salesman had no idea and have to check with the manager who was happy we had heard the add but we were then told we would have to pay the tax on our purchase.
We bought a couch, love seat and splurged on an overpriced but very functional coffee table. We made sure the couch could be returned for credit if it didn’t fit into our house (as we were aware this was completely possible) and all was good.
Delivery #1 was to be made between noon and 4pm and they called me at 10:30am to say they were 5 minutes away… thanks guys… if you’re gonna come over 2 hours early please give more then 5 minutes notice! The drivers were great, turns out there was no way to fit the couch but they tried everything they could being very careful not to damage anything before giving up. They unwrapped the loveseat and took away the garbage. They left the coffee table wrapped. I later discovered when I unwrapped said coffee table that they send us the store model which was scratched, dirty and missing a handle… this was unacceptable!
My fiancé contacted them and they said they forgot to tell us there was a 2 week wait on the table so sent the floor model to us… not ok. We arranged to have a NEW table ordered (like I said before the table was a splurge so getting it in this condition was ridiculous!) and to exchange the couch we sent back for a love seat. We were told the love seat would be delivered on Monday and the table when it came in. We were also told we could use the floor model table until the new one came in which was nice of them to offer.
Enter Monday… driver didn’t show up on time so we called. It’s not on the truck so he will need to go back to the warehouse to get it and drop it off later… which wasn’t ok cause we had plans and weren’t going to be home. Got ahold of the salesman and apparently he thought we wanted the couch delivered with the table in 2 weeks even though he set up a delivery time for us for that Monday! He arranges to have it delivered on Wednesday between 4 and 5pm.
Delivery #2 driver arrives on time but I am busy doing other stuff and my fiancé accepts the delivery. The driver literally dropped it upright in the middle of my living room still in all it’s packaging makes him sign for it and runs off. I walk out «what the hell is this» delivery drivers are paid to drop items off, unwrap them and put them where you want them… and they should take the wrapping/​garbage with them as a courtesy like they did on the 1^st delivery. To say I was pissed at this point is an understatement.
Unfortuantely I am STILL waiting on my coffee table and yet another delivery from these morons so the saga continues…
