History

Established in 2014.

Gael MacLean started HoundsTooth for pets when she saw the need for quality pet treats and accessories for cat & dog owners in the West End of Vancouver. Real food at an affordable price was the priority. Gael spent years researching and resolving Ruby her German Shepard’s extreme allergies through diet and real food supplements. She understands that just like humans, «They are what they eat.» And the healthier the food & treats, the longer they and the less we we spend on vet bills. Let’s keep our pets healthy and safe. We also carry a specialty line of LED visibility products for both dogs and humans. Be Safe-​Be seen.

Business Owner

Gael is one of Canada’s half-​dozen, pre-​eminent, sound & music designers. She has produced, directed, supervised and created sound & music design for feature films, television movies, series & mini-​series, animated shorts and documentaries in Canada and the US. Since acquiring the dog love of her life, Ruby, she has spent three years in intensive education and study of pet food and health. By changing Ruby’s diet, feeding the right treats, and using safe toys, Ruby no longer deals with extreme allergies to food and the environment. HoundsTooth was the next logical step.
