Is this even a real restaurant? I’ve only been able to go once because every other time I’ve went they’re closed. Pro tip: if you’re caucasian, be prepared to be stared at. Hard.

coming from cali my friends took me here. The food mediocre service was terrible. We ordered our food not less than 5 my dish came to table. come to find it was table next to ours. So I wanted to eat when my friends dishes came which took forever. They served my friend the wrong dish. Waiting again by the time her dish csme she had no appetite since she waited so long. Maybe if the waiter/busboy/cook world remove his earplugs(listening to music while working) customer might receive better service and they may actually get a tip. If you want to ignored by the staff this is the place to go… just saying

If you are craving good Filipino food, you have to try this place. Super great value for the price. Their sisig is amazing. We live 45 mins away and I would definitely drive the distance for their sisig.

If I had to eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would be TapSiLog, which is beef tapa(sliced marinated beef), sinangag(garlic fried rice), and eggs, hence the name Tap SiLog. Goto King has an All Day Breakfast menu, which all include the«garlic fried rice»(I’ll elaborate on that later.), fried egg, and your choice of meat(beef tapa, longanisa, fish, spam, etc). For what it actually is, $ 9 is a bit much, especially since I can make most of this stuff at home. Regardless, my beef tapa was absolutely delicious. So tender and moist and flavorful. I really liked how thinly it was sliced which made it a lot easier for the marinade to really penetrate through the meat. A+. As for the sinangag… I never got sinangag! I got steamed rice with fried garlic on top! Frauds! How hard is it to sautee some garlic with rice? If I’m paying $ 9, I better be getting what I came for, bud. The fried egg couldn’t be more perfect. It also came with a thick slice of fresh tomato, which really went well with the salty beef and egg.

Just like its sister company Cucina Manila, Goto King is just another Filipino restaurant with OK food and horrible service. My family and I went here late afternoon yesterday and were immediately put off by the employees. It’s as if they didn’t want us there. Awkwardly, we were told to occupy a table that at that point still had some dirty dishes on it. It took the busser a few minutes to come by and clean up the table — kinda gross and we really should have left by then, but we were too hungry. Our food arrived pretty quickly(that’s one of the plusses) and they appeared fresh. My brother-in-law thought his sisig was good but a bit too hot.(My sis disagreed about the heat.) My tokwa’t baboy was okay — the tofu and pork were crispy, and the sauce had a nice, vinegar-y kick to it. My sister’s Bulalo was the best savoury meal we ordered that day. The meat was super tender, and the veggies just cooked to perfection. I thought it could have used a little bit more salt though. We also ordered halo-halo, and this was the best dish of the day. That said, halo halo is kinda hard to mess up.(Kumare on Richmond is one of the few Filipino restaurants that doesn’t have a good halo halo). The food was okay, so I’ll probably come back here if I really have to. But I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. The service is just too awkward. Their ventilation is also not working, so you’ll get out of the place smelling like food(that’s not a good thing). For comparable food with better service, I recommend checking out Pin Pin on Fraser.

Worst Filipino food I have ever eaten. I was flip flopping between giving this place a 1 or a 2, but I decided on the 1. My husband and I passed by this restaurant and since we were starving, decided to try it out. We entered the place and the cook and server were standing behind the counter chit chatting. I saw their eyes look at me and I smiled, but they just went back to talking. Finally the server walked over with the menus. I felt awkward, but decided to give them a chance. We decided on 3 things and the cook brought out the sizzling plate first. He walked away without giving us any utencils. We waited for 2 mins, but nobody came over to give us napkins or forks. I finally walked behind counter and grabbed a set for each of us. Fried chicken with pickled vegetables and rice: 1 chicken thigh deep fried with no flavour. I felt like I was eating a fatty, oily chicken thigh. The worst dish out of the 3. Special Pork Hot Plate: Fatty pork with onions, egg and rice — it was pretty oily and bland. There was again… no flavour except oil. Pork Dumplings: This is 4 pieces of Chinese Dim Sum pork dumpling. This was the ONLY thing that tasted good. It also cost almost double the price than of the pork dumplings in a Dim Sum restaurant. The server didn’t come by to ask if everything was ok. We reluctantly finished our food because I hate wasting food. I went up to the counter to pay and promptly left. Maybe it was a bad night, but I won’t be coming back.

Yum yum! We’re novices to Filipino food so the server explained what the food names were and recommended certain dishes. We got Shanghai lumpia(small chicken? egg rolls), sisig pork(fatty and delicious pork on a sizzling plate) and canton noodles. All of it was very delicious. The pork was even better with a little fish sauce on it. Total was less than $ 25. The server was helpful and friendly. It’s one of those very casual places where they bring out the food as it’s cooked so we got our lumpia after we got our noodles and pork. Water was self served — a water cooler and Styrofoam cups — and we paid at the front. We knew we made the right choice when large groups of Filipino family/friends came in and we had to move to a smaller table to accommodate them. :)
