Specialties

The Gam Gallery is an exhibition space, boutique and artist studio. We specialize in contemporary art by local and emerging artists as well as jewelry, ceramics, children’s clothing, vintage good and other house wares. The Gam is an artistic community space that hosts live music events, games nights, community markets and more.

History

Established in 2009.

The Gam was opened in December 2009 by four women originally from Alberta. It’s aim was to foster a welcoming and creative space for emerging artists and the broader community. Since opening, the Gam has had a monthly schedule of new exhibitions across a wide range of media and approaches, been host to many talented musicians and theatre performances, and participated in festivals such as Olio, SWARM, National Youth Arts Week, LIVE Performance Art Biennale and Capture Photography Festival.

THE GAAAMM IS C YEW TE!
i marched threw scary junkies on Saturday night to make it to my good friends opening.
the show is titled «Guilt», it features Kirk Gowers smaller piece’s work. the front of the GAM is small and intimate but then when you go to the back to find a washroom its like someones basement. i liked the contrast. the show, curated by Suzanne Fulbrook is from August 13 — September 2, 2011.

The GAM is a fun art-​filled space in a little room on East Hastings. Often marked by the crowd of young smokers on the street outside and loitering in the display room out front, the events at the GAM are almost always local, inclusive, and cheap.
They host many local art works as well as live music on weekends. There is also a chess night on Thursdays!
