Had to try this place out because my Filipino coworkers recommended it to me. I came here during this year’s Street Food Fest for Dine Out Vancouver. Man oh man, first of all, this truck was bumpin’. They had flashing lights and played loud but dance-y music. I really hope it’s like this all the time. As a millennial, I would definitely consider this one of the cooler trucks based on that alone. Second, the food was so tasty. As a Canadian-born Filipina, I’d describe it as the food I wish my parents made when I was growing up– nostalgic, but totally contemporary. I ordered the pulled pork pandesal and they piled the ingredients on that thing. So good! I’d suggest grabbing a can of Sarsi(Filipino root beer) to get the full experience. Love it love it love it. Will come again.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review on Fliptop too! I saw them on Main st, and HAD to try them. It’s just a Filipino support in me. First off, The folks are friendly. At the time I first visited them, I believe they were new. The girl and I conversed about food trucks and I told her I was from San Francisco. I got the Pacman Pandesal sliders and Lumpia Shanghai. The price was good and the quality of the food and portion was equally as good! If you see them, definitely give them a try!

Ohmigod Fliptop is my FAVOURITEFAVOURITEFAVOURITE food truck in Vancouver!!! It’s always really delicious, average food truck price, killer music to dance to while you wait(think No Diggity remix), and awesome staff! They park outside 33 Acres a bunch, and you can take your food into 33 Acres. The first time I ate from Fliptop I dropped one of my sliders on the ground and they made me a new one for free!!! It’s honestly so delicious I nearly ate it off the ground.

Friendly service, nice food! ! I had been wanting to try their food, but when I ran into them I wasn’t really hungry, so I asked them if they would do half a portion for me to try, and they happily did! ! Nice flavours. Give them a try!

These guys were the unsung heroes of the Unilocal Elite Food Truck event. Kicking tunes rocking the beat– check Friendly interaction — check Full portion slider to get a real sample going on — check I still dream of their triple A sirloin slider. This burger was the thing of burger dreams. I have to get my a$$ down to their location soon. This is the kind of truck I think of when I think Portland food scene. Bravo FlipTop! g

Yum! Well the veggie lumpia is the first item I tried from this truck. Very good, $ 7 crunchy and filled with vegetable goodness. It comes with a sweet and sour esque dipping sauce.

**Warning: I had no previous experience with Filipino food** Food is not exceptional, but pretty good in general, and very generous portions. They like to use fried vegetable filaments to give their food items more texture. That’s fine, but sometimes i feel there’s too much of it so the food becomes greasy. I had their pulled pork sandwich and vegetable lumpia. The pulled pork was tender and juicy, and piled high with a lot of the aforementioned fried veggies. It was very filling, but also left me feeling a bit greasy. The lumpia was nice and crispy. But I did not like the texture of the vegetable fillings as I found it a bit tough to chew. Maybe this is suppose to be authentic lumpia, but I did not like it as much as I thought.

I’ve wanted to try this truck for so long but have never actually seen it in person until recently. Luckily this was one of the 20 or so food carts at the shipyards night market in North Vancouver and being there early was great since there wasn’t a line. Their menu looked really good with different sandwiches and tacos but the item that caught my eye were the Pac-Man sliders so I had to get them! My girlfriend got the pulled pork sandwich and added an egg which was so juicy and delicious. The buns they use are Filipino pandesal which is sweet and goes with the meat/veggies really well. Prices are typical for food carts but the sizes are more generous than I was expecting compared to other food carts around the city. I loved this cart, the sauces and flavors were really nice on the pallet and I hope we run into them again during the summer :)

So great to have stumbled upon FlipTop food truck right outside of whole foods today! I didn’t feel pissed that I only had a small bowl of food an paid part of my life savings as I would have at whole foods lol. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The food was awesome and the service was great. I’ll definitely go back to try the adobo Philly cheesesteak.

I’ve eaten at fliptop Many times and must say jay and his team are awesome. They take so much care and pride in crafting amazing delicious meals. I love this truck so much we had them cater Our last work event and everyone was blown away with the food quality and portion size. My personal fave is the adobo cheesesteak — but come hungry — that bad boy is huge. The features are creative and amazing — just had the tacos today and like everything else they were delicious. You will not be disappointed

I checked the truck out while they sat outside Yellow Dog brewery. We grabbed an order of Lumpia and two Filipino pulled pork tacos to share with the family for a late afternoon snack. And we almost didn’t need dinner anymore! The lumpia were some of the best spring/egg-rolls I have ever tasted. Second only to the shrimp lumpia I’ve had elsewhere. The veggies inside their rolls were just the right size to cook well but still have fresh crunch. The shell was layer upon layer upon layer of crispy and light yuminess. I skipped the dipping sauce(but used the yummy stuff for something later). My young kids wanted more more more! The tacos — downright sensational. Creamy spicy chipotle sauce, slightly sweet and succulent pork, just a great blend of ingredients. I will return. Wherever you are.

For my lunch I ordered the lumpia(vegetable spring rolls) and a rice and silog-upgraded BBQ pork skewer plate(pork skewer bathed in sauce, rice, and an over easy egg). I think a general tip for the meat skewer is you need to «rice and silog it» for $ 5 to get the rice and egg otherwise $ 4 for a skewer just isn’t very filing. In terms of quality, this is one of the best food trucks I’ve been to. I credit some of this to the BBQ sauce but the lumpia just make everything better. It took a while for it to come out but it was worth the wait for a fresh order. Crunchy exterior yet soft on the inside, the lumpia were probably the most delicious part of the meal. If you’re looking for a simple snack, the lumpia are a great choice.

Usually I’m not a huge fan of food trucks because of their perceived lack of value, but I definitely enjoyed this one after catching a whiff of my friend’s pork skewer. Staff are friendly and chatty. The pork skewer is somewhat reasonable at $ 4. But this is no ordinary skewer. It’s covered in mayo, shredded turnip and seaweed, and some leaves. Then there’s the sauteed bits(I think it’s onion?). Wow this is delicious. If it didn’t break the wallet I could eat 10 of these things. Definitely will be back to try more of their food. Recommended.

Wow… the thrilla in Manila«Fili» Cheesesteak was AMAZING. Don’t think, just get it. Oh, and don’t just mindlessly bite into the entire bun, I suggest you get a fork and savour each of the elements on their own, its just that good! The crunchy onions on top was a flavour bomb in my mouth and the garlic aioli sauce was just amazing. The prime rib was super flavourful, and the provolone cheese was fantastic. Oh and to top it all off, the service was friendly! Keep it up Fliptop!

Elevating Filipino food on the streets(finally). Filipinos are a humble people. For anyone who has Filipino relatives, friends, or traveled to The Philippines, you know how good the eats are, yet the mainstream knows nothing about it. With Fliptop, Christine and her brother Jay hope to change that so you’ll hear people say«Let’s go for Filipino» instead of the standard Sushi/Thai/Indian, etc I was driving home today and spotted the motherland Flag on a truck parked at W 4th and Vine. My lunch was decided. Super friendly and passionate Christine will go over the whole menu for those unfamiliar with the Filipino specialties. Being a sucker for any variation of pulled pork, I tried theirs. Super tender pork slathered with their signature bbq sauce, pickled green papaya and carrot slaw, roasted garlic aioli and wicked crispy leeks! And instead of your average bun, they use Aling Mary’s pandesal(tiny bit sweet Filipino bun). So pinoy good. Finished off with their Turon Brulee(deep fried banana spring rolls) with hazelnut infused caramel sauce. Another must try. Their fusion cheesesteaks along with the rest of the menu were very tempting. Tonight they’ll be at Brassneck Brewery. Hmm, wicked new craft brewery + Filipino food = smart. Stop being a creature of habit, eat Flip!
