We love the water and everything about it. Whether it’s surfing at Rincon with friends, or standing at the water’s edge in Tofino while the waves pull the sand out from under your feet and back to the sea… we love it. We ride powder in Canada, bike the backcountry of New Zealand and raft down the Colorado. We love adventure and traveling. We keep up on the latest fashion trends and make up our own. We sometimes go to bed with salty skin and the smell of the ocean after a day of surfing. We take care of our environment and help out our favorite charities. We love music and singing along with our favorite songs.

Our flip flops are an extension of who we are and what we stand for. We live, work and play with our toes exposed® while wearing the freedom of flip flops on our feet.

History

Established in 2008.

It’s a pretty cool story, if you’re interested? Ok, here it goes. Todd grew up in Boston as a business guy. He opened a tuxedo rental place… not cool, then a dry cleaner… cool if you need clothes dry cleaned, I guess? Then he got hungry & opened a pasta joint… lots of carbs for Todd back in the day. Todd got smart & decided he was so good at running and selling successful businesses that he should start his own deal to help others… very nice of Todd. Then, this cool chick named Sarah, who also grew up in Boston, meets Todd, Todd hires Sarah, Todd & Sarah consult with a bunch of franchise companies. Here’s where it gets interesting. Todd & Sarah head to Vegas for a convention. Sarah has uncomfortable shoes. Sarah has to walk, which makes her very unhappy. This in turn, makes Todd very, very unhappy. Sarah NEEDS a pair of flops. She searches far & wide but can’t find a pair to save her life. She asks the question, why isn’t there a shop that sells flip flops– Why oh Why?? LIGHTBULB!

Born and raised in Vancouver, Fiona opened the Flip Flop Shop in Kitsilano in April 2009. She loves the Kits neighbourhood, and is super stoked to help Vancouverites free their toes!
