Very good Chicken Shwarma. I’ve tried both the wrap and plate, and both are great, but you’ll need to make extra room for the rather generous Shwarma plate! a very small place, only a couple tables, but a great spot for a lunch break or takeout.

This place used to be the best place I have ever been to for Shwarma Plates, their chicken is always juicy, fresh and flavorful! But when I stepped into the shop once more after about half a year I haven’t been back due to work relocation, the place is no longer what it was… even the name changed to Falafel King. Food is mediocre, nothing great, the hummus was so so and the chicken was bland… only thing I can say they kept from Falafel Maison was their Tabule. It saddens me to see that the genuine owner and his son are no longer there. I would recommend going there unless you need a quick fix around the neigbourhood. Falafel Maison, where art thou?!

Microwaved falafel, smarmy creepy dude running the place, too much sauce, not enough flavor. Take your falafel-craving taste buds else where unless you want an underwhelming experience.

I go every Friday with my bf. The food is delicious, the chicken shawarma plate is the best I’ve ever had in my life, also the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I totally recommend this place if you are looking for great food at affordable price.

This place was convinent and close to me in the downtown area. The price is great for the amount of food you get and quality is not impacted in the process. Very casual, hole in the wall look an feel. Prob not the cleanest place… Often one guy in there very casual and able to make you what you what you need. I had the shawarma and my husband had the falafel. He thought he made the better choice and I thought I made the better choice. I don’t think you can go too wrong! So all and all, prices and food and quantity great if you can handle dingy surroundings. Great lunch to-go spot.

Making a perfect donair is tricky business. You want the meat to be tender and cooked to perfection, yet not too greasy. Also the humus and salad accompanying the wrap must be fresh to take the meat to the next level. Having lived in Germany for six months, I have sampled great donairs and some not so good ones. This place feels like a fast food joint but the food is healthy and delicious. I have tried the Falafel sandwich as well ad the chicken kebob and both were good. The portion size is large so pretty filling if you are looking for a healthy dinner. On both occasions when I visited the staff were quite friendly and warm. Overall give this place a try if you are on Robson looking for a rather healthy meal that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

I’ve tried their shawarma sandwich with and without rice so far. Very delicious and filling. A shawarma sandwich/wrap was little less than $ 8. Had the same friendly fellow make my sandwich twice, nice guy. He even showed me the shawarma plate he was making to educate me what will be in my wrap during my first visit. Service is pretty fast too even though there’s only one person making the food. My coworker grabbed his sandwich from the twisted wrapper end and dropped his first ever shawarma onto the floor! The guy made him another one quickly. So be careful when you pick up the wrap(usually no paper when you’re ordering only one).

They no longer serve tabbouleh with the chicken shawarma plate; they now use a crappy, rusty, tasteless bagged salad. Dislike. Bring back the tabbouleh!!!

I love falafel maison! I have been going here for 10 years and the food is fantastic. The shwarma plate is a big belly full of food(for two… almost. and the chicken shwarma sandwich is great mid size option. Good food, great prices.

Yay to the shawarma plate when you’ve got a hankerin for a hefty lunch for $ 10. If lunch were rated based on weight alone, this type of meal wins hands down. While there are many options downtown for shawarma, I love the effort this place puts on service, and just being friendly overall.

Chicken Schawarma wrap 6.50 including tax. Greasy chicken, cold, expensive, small. I know authentic falafel very well, and this wasn’t close to being authentic.

Really had a bad experience here two Friday’s ago. Front counter guy was hung over, smelt like Johnny Walker(whatever). Amazing looking meat turning on the spindle, but I got mine only from the heated bucket on the counter… and worst of all… I get back to my office desk. begin to eat and there is raw chicken within my meal. Safe to say I’ll never return. All I could taste is watered down hot sauce and forever will I have the feeling of blubbery raw chicken in my mouth. NOTCOOL. No fooling around people, the chicken was raw. If you want good chicken shwarma place there are better places *ahem Babylon Café* ahem.

I will say it once and I will say it again, Vancouver doesn’t know Lebanese food if it hit them in the head. As an east-coaster turned Vancouverite I have been dying to find some decent shawarma in this city. Sadly, I have yet to find it. I went to Falafel Maison for lunch today with a co-worker and ordered my usual favourite: a chicken shawarma sandwich, and prayed that for once my dreams of a half-decent shawarma in Vancouver would be answered. Oh how wrong I was. While my food was being ordered, the guy took a few other orders. At some point he got mixed up while trying to socialize because he asked another person if she wanted hot sauce and then proceeded to dump a TON of hot sauce all over MY sandwich. I have no idea who even decided that a shawarma sandwich needed hot sauce, but look it up people, it’s not an actual ingredient in it. So, even though they had completely messed up my order, I paid the 7 $ and left. My first bite of the sandwich was filled with disappointment. The chicken was dry and tasteless, the hot sauce was overpowering, way too much tabuleh, and I couldnt even taste whatever watered down garlic sauce was added to it. I barely finished half of it before throwing it away in another disappointing end to my quest for a half-decent shawarma in Vancouver. To clarify what I so desperately am searching for but have never found here: A chicken shawarma sandwich should contain: lettuce, tomato, pickled turnip, pickles, shawarma chicken and garlic sauce. The garlic sauce should not come out of a squirt bottle and should have the consitency of thick mayo. Once this deliciousness is assembled in a wrapped pita it should be lightly grilled on a panini before serving to your customer. You should taste the garlic sauce of your shawarma the next day while waking up. It should be the first thing you remember when taking a bite. This had none of these things, and so I am still ever-searching for a half-decent shawarma in Vancouver.

I went here because Japadog had too much people. For the price, I got pretty decent portion. The taste was a let down, I joked before eating that it was hard to mess up shawarma… but they did. Also had a slight irritation with the guy taking the payments. He asked me about 4 times if I wanted a drink, if someone says no it’s a no. They had very little stools and tables, one of them was filled with the cashiers friends not eating anything. Will not be coming back again.

This place is like a soup kitchen during lunch! NEXT! I had the falafel at lunch. Really good portions, I’m surprised I didn’t finish mine today. The taste not so much, it was too dry for my liking masked by copious amounts of greens, parsley, tabouleh and hummus. I will try the shawarma next.

Falafel maison is one of my go-to places for lunch at work. They have really, really good humus, tabolueh and chicken — making their shawarmas one of the best in the city. Also, the staff is awesome and they make it a pleasure to visit.

Nor as good as I expected after reading all the reviews. I got the Falafel, so so. I think Babylon’s chicken wrap is better, but I guess it’s unfair for me to compare a chicken wrap with Falafel wrap.

Chicken shwarma heaven for only $ 5.95! With cheery and prompt service, this gem of a place built a yummy treat. Although the onion seemed a bit strong hours later, I can hardly fault them for that! Super fresh.

4 stars — great for a hearty, fast $ 7 meal! No delivery & super tiny with 5 stools. A rare cheap joint that we both crave now & then, & make a special trip to satisfy when we do. Excellent value, tasty and satisfying. Our fave: chicken shawarma, either wrap or plate(the plate 2 of us can split for lunch). Second would be the falafel wrap and the spanakopita is good, too. I just don’t usually show up at their door for something I first knew as Greek! Cash only & family run. If either the father or son are serving a woman she’ll soon learn they have a charm schtick that is quite endearing. Of course the first time you meet the ‘other one’ you’ll know where the son learned the lines! Recommended for a hearty lunch before or after wandering Robson Street, or going to a Lions game, or…
