Its fine if your don’t mind wasting around $ 130+ a month, this is the lowest price btw, the one that you get to choose if you sign up on day one when you walk into their office for the initial meet up. Be warned, this is a social group that basically makes a monthly schedule where they create events around things that you would normally pay for just by hanging out with normal non group members anyway. The plus side is if you do want to meet singles, this is one way to do it. Personally I would have gone about this a different way had I’d known I’d be paying around $ 3000 — $ 4000 for a 3 year contract plus a $ 30 a month «service charge». There’s other cheaper ways to meet singles, just be warned that if you do decide to join, its gonna cost you.

First of all, I am not a member of Events and Adventures, nor will I ever be after my experience.
Being a single gal in this city, a friend suggested I look into Events and Adventures after hearing an advertisement on the radio. I went to the website, and was a bit annoyed how there was no description of the sign up process, or what to expect. All that was clear was that before being approved, you actually meet with a staff member. That seemed alright – at least that would mean that they filter out the creeps, weirdos, and scammers, right? So I signed up, and received a confirmation email as well as a phone call from an employee, a woman called Terry, asking me to call her back when I could. I wasn’t able to call that day, but I called back the next day.
As per the message, I asked for Terry, but a guy, Matthew, said that she was on another call and that he could help me. I really wanted to just speak with Terry, but since I was calling during my lunch break, I couldn’t easily have her call me back, or call her later. So I agreed to allow Matthew to help me instead of playing phone tag. Right off the bat, Matthew started going into a spiel about the group and sign up process. He was talking so damned quickly without taking a breath (it was quite unprofessional, really), that I had to tell him to slow down. He seemed really annoyed about that, like I was an idiot for not understanding him.
He slowed down somewhat, and the very first question he asked me, in an abrupt manner, was, «Have you been married before?» That really bothered me. I questioned him about why he was asking me that particular question, and he said, quite rudely, that they want to make sure that the people who join are actually single, and not just separated. I understand that, but he should have asked, «Are you single?» and then taken it from there. He asked the married question in such an accusatory and judgemental way as well. And why even assume that I’ve been married before?! Sheesh. And when I asked him about it, he muttered something like «Jesus christ» (I can’t remember exactly what he said, but it was something that you mutter to yourself when you’re annoyed, and it was very rude and unprofessional).
And then I asked him if there is a membership fee. He tried to avoid answering, but I insisted. He finally reluctantly said that membership fees were around $ 100 to $ 150 per month, and I said that I was not thrilled that there was no mention whatsoever about membership fees on the website. He said that the reason why they don’t mention it is because the price depends on certain factors. Yeah, I get that they might not have the exact price on the website, but I think it’s scammy to not even mention a membership fee! If the website had said that there was a high price to join, I wouldn’t even have wasted my time to sign up and speak to someone! He also tried to evade answering me when I asked how old the members are (I don’t want to bother signing up if all the members are much older than me), and said, rudely (big surprise), «I know you’re curious and inquisitive, but this is the way the club runs.» Anyway, he continued to be rude and condescending throughout the rest of our conversation, and I outright told him that he was RUDE, and said that I’d rather talk to Terry, and asked when she’d be free. He then said that she wasn’t working today. Um, he said that she was busy on the phone not ten minutes before. SUSPICIOUS.
Who knows if Terry would have been any better, but I had such an unpleasant experience with Matthew, and my impression was SCAM. After seeing the other Unilocal reviews, I can see that my instincts were right. Even if I did interview with them, they probably wouldn’t select me because I’m not good looking enough, or rich enough, or whatever. Good riddance.

Do not join. It’s a scam. If the company had any faith in it’s service It would have a trial period or at least a cooling off period greater than 3 days. BC consumer law is 10 days.
It’s via registered may and has to arrive within 3 days and even then it’s a 400 interview fee.
Why I do not recommend this is it’s and think it’s a scam is that:
Reason 1:
Alot of the events you don’t need the club for.
They aren’t exclusive and occur at the same time as the general public. EG Volleyball in a park. Kareoke in a Bar. Salsa in a bar or on a ship.
So you pay the same cost as the general public too plus $ 2000.
If they had a trial period, I would have asked for my money back. Again, there isn’t a trial period.
They are also very shady and don’t even tell you the membership costs when you ask them.
Reason 2:
The person that sold me the membership — Rey is a shark and used confidential information about another member.
Being predatory and wanting to selll you a product that is difficult to return.
Reason 3:
I consider the memberships worthless as it doesn’t get you much. I could have done most of the same on my own.
They cost upto $ 5000.
Reason 4:
That events are cheezy too that aren’t in existing establishments. Like Volleyball in a public park or bocci ball. They havent event rented space in a park so in theory they could get kicked out. Also only seniors do bocci ball. They squat space in a park half the time.
Another example is back yard bbq’s that you pay 30 bucks for where there isn’t enough food. Hello I paid 2000 plus 30 extra bucks. I could have had a better time at a fast food joint.
I’ve ran into members outside EA events and the consensus is EA and a lousy rip-​off.
Feedback about the events isn’t anonymous.
The way EA operates is very shady. I could have done all these events without joining E&A and paying 2000. Do not join or even walk in the door.
I am very saddened at the money I squandered. Don’t join.

i checked this place out. unfortunately im sure people in the lower mainland tried it and lost a lot of money. I got out early so Iost some money. but like the previous poster EL said it is quite correct.
I believe «Misrepresentation» is the correct legal term term. They market themslves as exclusive and they screen for quaility people
— the sales rep keeps mentioning that how he met his wife who is aso a member and pushes for a longterm commitment yet then promote it online as not a dating site
however in their own contract. in a small subsection, hard to find. it states’/ paraphrasing E and A is not responsible or verifies for any claims it members make on their professional or social status.
in other words, they can be married, crmininals, sexual deviants, financially strained and E and A does not check at al.
word to the wise it does take about $ 2000 to join for a year where they a litte more than a party planner. i could do that right now for planning basic dinner party with a «send all «email.
they do not tell you prices on the phone or cleary posted in their office, just a card from the sales rep. he is also a realtor by the way

getting out of the contract is extremely complicated and you have to be fast and not attend any events
i do regret losing some money… i could have used it for a few monthes of gym membership at a community centre.
i grew up in Vancouver and am disppointed in how this business can exist in the trustful city I once knew
im a ittle adventuresome/​trustful soul… maybe that makes me a easier target but my outook has changed from this experience.
please tell ur friends. if they are the shy type E and A will have them for lunch and wont even spit out the bones. Get them to try meet up groups, take some fun classes at a communty centre or university. please take care people
