I’m a full time hairstylist, and constantly need care from RMTs to keep me and my body on the right track. I’ve been receiving care from RMT Kirstie Vanderhoek throughout 2015, and without a doubt, I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been. Not only am I excited to receive a treatment from her, but each time I leave, I’m even more educated on my muscles, and how to take better care of them.
I’ve never had a better RMT than Ms. Vanderhoek! I constantly tell my friends and family to go see her, and have referred multiple people her way, knowing that they’re also going to receive amazing treatment.
Plus, every time I go, I always appreciate the cleanliness and friendliness from other staff working there. This place is the perfect little gem for body care and wellness.

It is my first time to Elements Wellness Centre my review is solely based on the massage services that I received from RMT Kristie Vamderhoek. I will not recommend her to anyone for the following reasons:
On my patient sheet I wrote I want deep tissue massage but the pressure was just lacking. And the whole ’75 minute’ session just felt like an forearm/​elbow massage. She probably used her hands 20 percent in the whole session. I didn’t feel like she got to the kinks and knots in my body or maybe she couldn’t feel the tension with her elbow massage technique which lacks technique.
I arrived on time for my session and had to fill out patient forms which took about 10 mins. The website says «If you arrive late to your appointment your treatment may be shortened in order to keep our practitioners on schedule» I think this should be clearer cause I was charged for 75 mins when my massage was 55 mins. If my appointment was shortened to 55 mins I don’t think it’s fair to change for 75 mins. Either way make it clear on your website.
Another minor thing for the management. I did not receive any confirmation for my appointment which left me wondering for the whole week if my visit was confirmed.
For the type of massage and facilities I received here I will not be making a trip back. The accolades it has received were not true for me and I am disappointed. Scandanave spa in Whistler still eats the cake for the best massage if anyone is looking for a good place to have massages.

RE: RMT Marla @ Elements Wellness
Firstly, I would like to beg to differ with «Abutin R.» regarding his review about Marla’s massage.
I could not disagree more with this review.
Secondly, I will state I have been in the spa and wellness business for 2 decades, and I am very selective, and very difficult to please. I met Marla 3 years ago in a spa, and I have never found a more intuitive, and more effective RMT than Marla.
I have suffered TMJ disfunction, hip/​nerve imbalances, debilitating neck pain since I was 22 years old, and have an excellent chiropractor– but wanted a more soothing, and natural approach to my pain management.
Marla’s intuitive and effective yet gentle approach to massage has brought me great relief in my jaw, lower back and neck pain– in particular I have been pleased with her cranial sacral/​massage combo.
I have seen countless physiotherapists, and other chiropractors, who did very little to ease my pain, only Marla and her techniques have been effective for me.
Again, I am very particular in practitioners and I cannot recommend Marla highly enough.

I went for a massage for one hour with Marla.
The massage was strange, she used her elbow a lot, which put lots of pressure on me. Also she suddenly stretched my hand, which resulted in a very hard and continuous pain afterward. Also my hand goes numb. I guess she messed up with my nerves.

My wife and I both went for an Infrared sauna, then a massage from two different RMT’s. I had Marla and my wife had Nikki, both of which were awesome. Very relaxing atmosphere in the sauna, and the two RMT’s listened to our concerns and totally relieved our pain and stress with the treatments.
Our insurance covers the RMT sessions, they just issue a receipt and we take care of the rest.
We will be back for some more wellness ASAP.

I go here to see an RMT. Best massages/​body work I have found. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Relaxing atmosphere, they even have candles lit which I thought was nice. After every massage they give you water or tea which surprised me the first time, never had that nice of treatment before. My RMT also gives me homework to do. example: stretches, drink more water. Usually something that helps you with what your being treated for. Parking in the area is mostly meter parking on some side streets and broadway, but there’s 2 hour parking on MacDonald street if you can grab a spot. I have yet to try other services they provide but so far I love going there.

Waxing services by Brandy McLaughlin,
I have had two waxing with her. The first one went OK, as she compensate her lack of skill in waxing by taking time on tweezing, and she promised that for the next time she would provide hard wax and she would do a great job.
The second time, I went there she provided a very bad quality hard wax which didn’t work at all, so she used a cream wax that it was not either. But the worst part was her lack of skill on waxing and as a result, I’ve got lots of red spots, rash and uneasy skin plus lots of broken hair…
and at the of the session, the receptionist tried to charge me for some services that I hadn’t had!!!
terrible experience, never go back there…

Wife went there on Wednesday for some waxing.
Turns out, you get 20% discount on Wednesdays because you get handled by trainees, with horrible manicure, and no idea of how to wax a limb properly. On top of that. the person was super slow, so my wife left mid-​procedure.
And this is the place where they have life coaches? Gosh. Get your employees a manicure that’s not three months old before you teach someone how to live.

I am a chiropractor and I see Kelli myself and send my patients to her. Her gentle nature, calming energy, welcoming centre, and heated tables take the «sting» out of the acupuncture needles and I find it easy to refer to her.
The treatment is very effective for folks with high tension in their muscles, pain as a result of trauma or otherwise, food sensitivites/​allergies, digestive concerns, headaches, fertility issues and PMS to name a few.
My first pregnancy I struggled with energy. When I became pregnant the second time I included her treatments in my wellness régime and the outcome was much better. I wanted to have my baby naturally however I was on a timeline in light of my best friends wedding out of province and my first child was 12 days late. I am fully convinced that the acupunctre for INDUCTION helped put me into labour. She performed it three times within a week and I for sure felt the baby drop after my sessions. My baby came after the third session and I was able to avoid a hospital induction. As a natural care provider, this meant the world to me and I got to go to the wedding a week later.
People who have previously had a poor experience with acupuncture, see Kelli and change their attiutude about acupunture.
As a professional, people judge me based on the strength of my referrals. When patients see Kelli, she makes us both look great!
