I ordered my first custom suit from Dunn’s and had a fully positive experience.
Ordering — David helped me select the materials I wanted and gave me advice on style, colour, fit, etc. I was a student at the time and on a budget so he showed me their most ‘modest’ materials, which were still quite nice, and didn’t try to force an upsell on me. There is something to be said for having your preferences respected. The ordering process/​timeline was explained fully and card charged and we were off after measurements had been taken.
Receiving the Suit — The suit arrived (from Quebec) in-​store and I was called to come in for adjustments. David once again helped me and spent about 30 minutes working with me to make the adjustments I wanted to the suit. This included discussing the type of footwear I was planning on wearing, how I liked my pants to sit, etc. And I was off again.
Final pick-​up — David handed off the suit to me and gave me a variety of helpful upkeep tips. He recommended what I might consider for my next suit purchases and helped me pick out a nice and affordable shirt to match with the whole package.
I’m very happy with the fit and look of my suit and rely on it as my go-​to for business dress. Like Hank Hill’s sales mantra, I was educated as a customer so I could make my own informed decisions and felt empowered in the process.
Since then, I’ve ordered another suit from a different company (check my reviews) and regret not taking my business back to Dunn’s. I’ll be back next time I need a suit or just some nice menswear.

Dunn’s is the place to go for clothing that will fit your body, guys. My son and I were shopping here and David the Magic Manager put together a fabulous outfit and for a 36 leg inseam and 37 arms on a slender body, that is a masterful feat.
Lovely fabric on the Belli stroller length coat, beautiful wool scarves even this late in the season, and a great merino wool sweater — all proportioned to make a man look good and feel comfortable in clothes that fit.
This is the place to get classic clothes in great fabrics. Especially strong for smart casual, when you are ready to move away from the sweat pants. The Gala brand 5 pocket pant is a dramatic fit and wash and wear.
Guys, when you are ready to be a «sharp dressed man» Dunn’s is the place to shop. Take public transit as parking is challenging! Located at Granville and Pender in a wonderful old building.

Not happy with the product or service.
I bought a suit for over $ 1,500 only to have the hem fall apart after wearing it a dozen times.
When it came time to ask for a repair, the sales person didn’t believe that I had bought the pants from them.
I bought another $ 150 pair of pants when I stopped in for the repair. (My mistake.) I had those altered as well.
The hem was machine done and looks horrible. The tailor adjusted the waist too tight. All in, I am not happy with these guys at all.
I will not buy from them again. Better donate your money to charity than waste it at this store.

I am more of a fan of David then I am of Dunns. Dunns has lots of great clothing to choose from like Jack Victor, Baumler, S Cohen etc and so the quality of their clothing is excellent. However their bigger asset is David the store manager. This guy really knows his stuff after 20 years in business and he is very contemporary. He will get you to look at clothes you may not look at in first glance but you will appreciate later. Bottom line David has great fashion sense and is a great advisor — ask for David. This is the only place I buy my suits. In this tough economy they have suit selections even at the $ 500 range which are very good. There best brand that I like is Baumler, followed by Jack Victor. Parking a hassle at DT store. Hey check out there new shoe area in basment — I bought two pairs of amazing shoes and all I get now is compliments on my shoes!

True that they don’t carry as many designer labels but they’ve good names for custom-​made suits, like Samuelsson, Victor. Good customer service, did buy a designer from the manager David back in the day, til that Canada Line construction really was a hassle.

Dunn’s is probably what I would call mid-​tier for mens clothing retailers. What they don’t have are the high end Italian designers. However, they do carry Samulesohn, Ted Baker, Baumler, etc, which are a little more conservative compared to the Italian stuff. There’s nothing wrong with that.
Good place to go if you are looking for your first suit.
