Went for afternoon because of a groupon, the high tea tasted like they were just reheating everything from Costco or superstore. Quite disappointed.

Did afternoon tea and had a really nice time! The food was very good and surprisingly filling. I was a little surprised that there was only four choices for tea, and we had to ask for refills rather than getting a pot. It’s a nice experience for the price(with a Groupon).

Despite advertising bananas, strawberries, and grapes for their fondue menu, we received tangerines, pineapples, and apples. Those fruits are certainly not interchangeable, especially when it comes to fondue. Their justification for this was that they ran out of the advertised fruits, but they«hand peeled» the tangerines just for us. Wow, because having it hand peeled tasted so much better than if it were actually strawberries. They didn’t even give us a discount. Needless to say, the chocolate covered tangerines and pineapples were not good.

Food is good but horrible service. We were seated at a dirty table which they said they would wipe down right away. 10 minutes later and they haven’t been back to take our order much less wipe the table. There were about 15 others in the store at the time, most of which already had their fondue sets. Ended up having to go to the front and ordering. When the waitress came with plates, she dropped the fondue skewers, picked them up and just gave them to us instead of getting new ones. Service at the Richmond location is much better.

This is a best place for afternoon tea in Vancouver, You’ll enjoy a comfortable atmosphere during this meal. I love the seat near the french window. Excellent service, very friendly people! I ordered the afternoon tea including apple&brie on bread chip and puff pastry with sundry tomato. I also ordered the dark chocolate fondue. I love the Bread and jam, It was delicious. And the sandwiches was delicious also. For the chocolate fondue, I love chocolate and banana mix or chocolate and strawberry mix. This is the best afternoon tea restaurant. I would recommend it to everyone!!!

I went to have Afternoon tea with my friends. I like all the bakery, especially scone and puff pastries. The taste was very good. They baked everything by themselves. The amount of the tea set is so much, i couldn’t finish it so i took the rest for to go. It’s quite busy the day i went, but i impressed with the service because even how busy it was the servers put smile on their face all the time. The atmosphere was also good, i went there with my friends and we got window seat. I’ve got a good time there. It’s gonna be one of my favorite restaurant :)

Had the high tea service with a friend. It was surprisingly good. The scones were the best! But it was missing the clotted cream which is typically given at other tea places… instead they gave butter and jam. The other pastries tasted great, but most of them seemed to use the same«toppings» which were pesto and sundries tomato. They were lacking creativity here. Also, this high tea was missing the typical finger sandwiches, which I was looking forward to. I was disappointed as well with the tiny tea list. I think there was only 4 to choose from. In comparison to other places, such as urban tea merchant or neverland tea salon… the list here was pathetic. Overall I would go back, but only if I have a groupon(which I did have on this visit). I wouldn’t pay full price here.

I love fondue! I discovered Capstone when I was planning a mother/daughter trip to Victoria and Vancouver back in 2012. I bought a Groupon and hoped the food would be delicious. The cost was $ 24 for the cheese and chocolate fondue meal for two. We went to the location on Robson which was quite a walk from our hotel. The location was tiny but luckily we had a reservation and got seated right away. We thought that our Groupon was for the cheese fondue OR the chocolate fondue. We were sure surprised to learn that we were getting both. We started off with a tray of pretzels, bread, carrots, cherry tomatoes, apples and grapes. We were each given an individual pot of cheese to dip our food into. We really liked getting our own fondue pot. Next we received a tray of bananas, strawberries, pineapple, banana bread, pound cake, graham cracker crumbs, nuts and ice cream truffles. We were then each given an individual pot of chocolate. We both enjoyed everything and were so stuffed when we left.

Got a groupon for high tea. It was anything but! The white walls were so badly in need of being repainted; the air conditioner was on when it was cold outside. Our earl grey tea came pre-brewed, no tea bag in sight. No refill offered either. Also no cream, just milk. It got worse when our food arrived, as it was 99% straight carbs. There was one small slice of cheese on a baguette slice, but virtually a protein-free meal. Desserts were okay, but I was not interested in consuming sugar after the platter of breads. No devon cream for the scones. They cheaped out on the meal and it showed. Will never go back

Sitting in a coffee shop, therefore, taking the time to clear out some of the drafts that have been sitting in my inbox for 4 months of local reviews in attempt to reduce my list one at a time(I have over 60 drafts). I walk by this place every weekend for the past 6 years and the one thing that makes me second guess myself from walking in is the average reviews, however, finally sucked the bullet ’cause the pastries looked good. I did take into consideration all the reviews below before walking in. Very over priced, average dipping bits and poor service… avoid.

This place is just OK. I came here because I was craving chocolate fondue. Real chocolate fondue. The kind where you dip fruit into melted chocolate and when it cools off you get a crunchy chocolate layer over the fruit. This place serves warmed up chocolate sauce/syrup or something like that. No crunch. To call it milk chocolate fondue is a bit miss leading, IMO. The drinks were OK but I was mostly looking forward to the fondue and was a bit disappointed. Going to try someplace else to get my fondue fix.

I felt deceived after going to this place with two friends. They have packages for(a number of) people that includes certain drinks. We were just stopping for a sweet treat and didn’t want to spend much, so after asking to the waitress several times we were going to share what apparently was a 2 person package. We got like 2 strawberries and a grape per person(exaggerated but really small portions) with a tiny mini chocolate fondue. Not even good taste/quality. When the bill came, we owed close to $ 20 per person. As they were closing and the girl didn’t speak a lot of English we didn’t take it further. So I left a comment with all my info at the card they give out demanding an explanation and letting know how I feel. Do you think I ever heard from them? I felt robbed and ripped off. I’m giving 2 stars because the place it not ugly(ambiance). But wouldn’t recommend anybody to go.

My daughter is here visiting and we’ve done high tea at a tea restaurant and had a good experience. She really enjoys places like that. So, I didn’t want to take her back to the same place and came across this place online. We went there Monday and to our surprise, it doesn’t open until 1:00. We were starving and didn’t want to wait an hour for it to open so went to eat lunch at a restaurant down the street. We went back there today. We ordered one cheese and one chocolate and two herbal teas. The proportion was just right for the two of us. As much as I would have liked a little more of bread, etc… on the cheese dish. Other then that, it was nice to leave not overstuffed. Not sure if I’ll be back but would go back on my own. I would go back if a group of friends wanted to. Why two stars? One, because it opened after noon and two, the service was eh.

After our delicious dinner at Hapa Izakaya, NW and I went to Capstone for chocolate fondue. I bought a fondue for 2 voucher online. You can get it from Groupon, Social Shopper, or Living Social. Unfortunately, toppings weren’t included so we decided to get the add-on platter which includes 12 ice cream truffles and 4 toppings.(Our server was also really pushy and told us to go for it). For the toppings, we got almonds, caramel bits, rainbow sprinkles, and honey graham. Even though the chocolate got burnt and the baked goods weren’t very good, we still had fun and it was our first time having fondue. Probably wouldn’t go back here. at least not for a while and definitely not without a voucher since it’s not worth it.

We were surprised to see this café looking more like a fast food restaurant with the décor, or lack of. We ordered, online, one regular tea service and one vegan. The reservation went through. However, when we got there, we were told they don’t do vegan. Then ensued a long wait while the manager tried to phone the owner to find out what to do. We left; I sold my living social coupon to someone who can eat dairy. I would definitely not return to this restaurant.

I liked my high tea experience here, mind you, me and my cousin had a Groupon. I doubt I would ever pay full price for it. Don’t get me wrong, it tasted good but it wasn’t anything spectacular. I prefer the one at the Fairmont. So if you get a chance to get the Groupon, do so, and try it out! It’s a cute little snack.

We decided to have brunch at Capstone Tea with my wife. There are few things that struck me as interesting. I don’t mind paying a little extra for quality but I didn’t really get that with what we ordered. I would expect a lot more for $ 60. The quantity was very small. We got mini sandwiches, tiny pastry and mediocre tea and coffee(both cold). The pastry and sandwiches tasted good(except the cucumber sandwich(seriously? Cucumber sandwiches?)). The ambience was not impressive either. However, the service was really good. The ladies working there are great at what they do and try their best to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. I will not be going back. For this price I would rather go to Thierry.

Nice lil tasters but not good bang for buck. We went w a groupon for afternoon tea set. So $ 28 for two people. You get a very average cup of tea from among 2 or 3 choices only. You get four wee savories of which two were yummy, one was good, and one, a cucumber sandwich substitute for a menu item they didn’t have, was not edible. You get two very good scones. You get two pastries, a macaroon(sadly, not a macaron) and a little fruity jello thing. Almost everything tasted great but it is just not 14 bucks worth, let alone 28! Service was sweet but once you order there is no more care; décor is stark. Wouldn’t go back.

GROUPON. That’s why I end up here. Cuz one of my girlfriend got a GROUPON deal… And convinced me… Honestly… It was Ok. But just Ok. But the ”cup” are NOT deep at all… What a cheap trick… So you don’t get enough cheese and chocolate fondu for finishing all the stuffs. And I am not impress with their ”Costo” veggies tray… The cookies was so-so… Like spicy tasted… Weird. It was a one time. Also it’s at the END of Robson street. It was a great but a looong walk from Yaletown to Capstone for not much…
