Well… The location was fantastic. Close enough to Broadway to walk, but far enough away that you’re not aware of the hustle and bustle. We were disappointed that our bedroom was right next to the front door, entrance area and common area/dining room. We were looking for a little more privacy, and had we known, we would have booked the more secluded basement room — which would have cost less money. The next point, IS money. Camilla house is over priced. We were more than willing to pay the stated price based on — ‘private comfort and gourmet breakfast’ which was described on the website. We felt the interactions with the innkeeper to be kind of awkward as well. On our first morning, we were woken up by other guests when they came to have their breakfast. We waited for that group to finish before coming out for our breakfast. When we did, we were unsure what was going on. No food was laid out aside from some bananas and cereal, not even any coffee. This wasn’t the gourmet breakfast we had been expecting. Finally the innkeeper came out, and offered to make us eggs and bacon. At the same time, two other ladies, and two younger boys appeared, who they were — i don’t know — maybe employees? But certainly not guests. All of them spoke among each other in a different language, which was very uncomfortable for my husband and I who felt awkward at the other end of the table. They were served a large plate of bacon and eggs and toast before us, even though they showed up afterwards. After waiting –I kid you not– 45 minutes, we finally received our under cooked uneatable bacon, and overcooked cold eggs. We made our own toast and figured out there was juice in the fridge. The next morning was much the same. We came out while there were other guests in the dining room, thinking maybe there was more too it if we were earlier. We were wrong. The other guests left, and my husband and I waited an extended time for the same poor quality breakfast. Afterwards, we made to check out– or at least say good bye? No one was around for us to hand in our single key, or ‘thanks’ for the hospitality. The house was clean enough though, and nice. And we liked that we could come and go as we pleased… Over all, we were disappointed. We knew staying in Kits wouldn’t be cheap, but we should have paid closer attention to the reviews of others. The food and hospitality was terrible and just plain awkward. As previously quoted — you can do better — & — over priced for what it is.

Spent a night at Camilla B&B recently, and found the neighborhood, home, and innkeeper Julia all to be lovely. The location is in a beautiful neighborhood, approximately 3 blocks from many restaurants and shops. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had to take our shoes off in the home, but I have always done this at my home, so I wasn’t put out by it at all.(I had read other reviews of guests saying they didn’t like it, but I prefer it.) The breakfast buffet was a disappointment. It consisted of scrambled eggs, low quality sausage, and undercooked bacon in crock pots. There was a few types of cereal, apples, bananas, bread, and yogurt. I would suggest this B&B increase the quality of breakfast, and lower their price point.
