C & N Backpackers Hostel

What a dump. Booked a room for 3 nights. The first night one of the guys in the dorm brings in a drunken woman into the room
. I have never heard such profanity in my life. It would have made a sailor blush. Then after she got the boot after I complained I got to sleep. Woke up & just wanted to get out. I got sick & ended up in the hospital. It was life threatening. The hospital called them to let them know that it would be a few days before I would be released. When I was I went to get my luggage & he charged me for those two days ??? What a jerk. lucky nothing was stolen. Cheap but sleeping in the park would be better.

I invited my guest over to Vancouver in November last year. Before his visit, I did an intense research on local hostels. After a month-​long research, I was recommended from friends of mine numerous times that I should check out C&N Backpackers. As it is very rare to find affordable hotels or hostels in Vancouver (because everything in the city is so expensive!!!) I was looking for affordable, transit-​convenient, safe place that also sums up Vancouver’s cultural scenes, and with confidence, I think Backpackers is the place that fits all these criteria.
The hostel is located near Chinatown, right next to Main Skytrain Station which connects the neighborhood to Vancouver in less than 5 min of train ride. The hostel is located in the entrance of Chinatown, one of the most historical places in Vancouver– a neighborhood of rich history and transition. You will find yourself staying up all night going out for nice dinner. Great restaurants, shops and great tourist sites. My guest had an amazing time in Vancouver and I highly recommend that you visit this place if you are looking for short and sweet trip to the city.
The staff are super friendly, very knowledgable of the neighborhood and Vancouver in general. My guest met a lot of good people from the hostel and he is visiting Vancouver again this year! I hope you enjoy your time at Backpackers :)

Convenient location, near the Amtrak/​Greyhound station and SkyTrain. Hostel was on the older side, with creaky wood flooring and only two bathrooms per floor. Got a private room and while decent (had an older TV, bunk bed and in-​room sink), was definitely on the louder side, as sound insulation was non-​existent. The temperature in the room also fluctuated a lot over night. The wi-​fi was also intermittent. Unfortunately while there I and others caught some sort of stomach bug, but I suppose that’s always a risk in these types of environments close to winter.

Convinient location, friendly stuff and 50Cent coffee in the morning. My room was cold and had a weird moldy smell.

Paid about $ 72 for a private room for 2 in this hostel just south of Chinatown. This was across the street from the transportation depot where we needed to pick up our Greyhound bus to Seattle. It’s a decent enough hostel. Their wifi kept cutting out and I got super annoyed by the too few toilets and showers (1 shower per floor and 2 toilets where the shower is in one of them). I waited for about 30 minutes before I had to give up to catch my train. Not a great neighborhood but a convenient location.
