It was a horrible experience. I ordered iced caramel latte and strawberry shortcake like an hour ago. The latte looked very white so I never though it was my drink until someone said it’s mine. I brought it to my work place and drank the latte and it was really tasted like white mocha + ice. And it was actually disgusting drinking white chocolate. So i went back for ask the real coffee drink and the Japanese girl working there had a real bad attitude and refuse me to give new one. I wouldn’t be this upset if the Japanese girl didn’t have the bad attitude. The drink was only $ 4.50 anyway. They should fire her a.s.a.p I am giving two stars because the cake was good.

Breka is a bakery café chain in Vancouver that is unique in that their cafes are all open 24 hours a day. This is a rarity here in Seattle. Whereas Vancouver has more than just one option for burning the midnight oil at a coffee shop. This location is on Bute Street and right off the main street, Robson which is the downtown Vancouver shopping district. Due to its proximity, Breka makes for a good option for an after dinner dessert nightcap after dining at one of the many restaurants in the area. The bakery café has a sizable amount of seating. inside with a few tables outside as well. Free Wi-Fi is available which makes this a suitable place to study or work from. I had some dinner down the road and walked over to Breka to pick up some dessert on the way back to the hotel. Their baked goods selection is quite sizable. They offer cookies, donuts and pastries. There is also full size cakes and slices of cake available. Prices here are quite reasonable. And when you factor in the USD-CAD conversion rate, the items here are significantly lower priced than the baked goods in Seattle. I picked up a slice of red velvet cake($ 4.25) and a Boston cream donut($ 1.25). The cake was moist and the frosting of the red velvet cake was creamy and decadent. The cake was slightly chilled which I like over having a piece of room temperature cake. I saved the donut for the next day so it wasn’t as fresh, but I thought the cream filling was good. I will definitely consider picking up some of their other donut varieties the next time I am in Vancouver for breakfast. Particularly their fruit filling ones. If you are in need of baked goods at all hours of the day, I would recommend checking out Breka. Though Breka is particularly appealing in the evening and early morning when there are few coffee and pastry places still open.

They charged me the wrong amount, and needed to give me back the overcharged amount. I paid by credit card, but they said they can only give me back the overcharged amount by cash, and gave me buckles and stupid coins. What a ridiculous store, I’m absolutely furious! This store SUCKS!!!

I enjoy this location over the others, with a patio and more seating. Casual café dining with premium choices for sweet lovers and sandwich addicts alike. Plenty of vegetarian choices like marinated tofu or Mediterranean paninis, breakfast croissants and tons of drool-inducing pastries. A prime choice for professionals looking for a place to catch up on work, or students.

One of the few bakeries in the area open at 6 am on a Sunday morning. I’d be a fan just for that reason. It’s a plus that the coffee and pastries are pretty solid. Not sure if I’d go out of my way to come here, but if you’re in the area, I think it’s a good place to sit, study, and eat. seems to be pretty popular at all times of the day/night.

Open 24⁄7! It was my go-to spot when visiting Vancouver and staying at the Shangri-la a few blocks away. It was rainy and cold so I frequented this place for coffee and light snacks. This place can get packed any day of the week but they are fairly quick and efficient. Left side to pick up drink orders and right side for food that’s being heated up. I love being able to get items(apple strudel, quiche, muffin…) heated up here. What’s better than hot coffee and hot food on a cold day? The kuffles($ 1 each) are unique here and worth trying if they don’t sell out. They are bite-size treats of deliciousness! For those who don’t know, they have hazelnut, cream cheese, and cinnamon in them. Come check this place out! They’re even open on Christmas Day!

Breka has been a staple for us since almost a year ago for Angela(and almost a decade for me). Just like the other Breka’s, this one is 24 hour and a popular destination for all those strolling down Robson with a lust for decadent delights. We visited at around 10pm on New Year’s Eve, and the place was packed! We ordered an americano(which I thought was a bit diluted but Angela seemed to like), a cheesecake brownie, and a red velvet cake. The red velvet cake was amazing. Eating it was a sensual experience. Unfortunately, the cheesecake brownie was not unpleasant but it left much to be desired. Le sigh. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone in the neighbourhood looking to grab quick treat to go or anyone looking to sit down and chat with a friend. Will be back to try some of the other cakes!!!

I impressed that they opened Christmas Day. I got a baguette and cheese cake. Taste was just ok. I would like to try sandwich next time.

I only got their pistachio and chocolate ganache. Pistachio flavour is very strong, and the rest of the cake melts in your mouth.

I used to love Breka but now that love has slightly faded. When I first found out about Breka I was so excited about getting pretty good cake for such a cheap price. My friends and I used to just go to Thierry once in a while but I haven’t gone since switching over to Breka. The cake is pretty good. I only get the mango passionfruit mousse, the red velvet, and the strawberry shortcake because these are my favourites. The other flavours I’ve tried and they’re all just ok to me. The hot chocolate here is pretty good as well, especially compared to Starbucks hot chocolate(yuck). I don’t really like staying inside Breka because it’s so busy and loud and the atmosphere is a little uncomfortable for me. Not sure why but if I have to stay I usually sit out on the patio. I do like the Davie location more just because it’s a lil quieter and hidden away. Solid cake for the price.

I work really close to Breka but had never seen it before. When a friend suggested a meeting there I jumped at the chance as i love exploring new places! I’m trying not to eat wheat and sugar right now so I just had a latte. It was okay — not as strong as i might like but the place was packed and everyone was eating. Tons of fantastic looking sandwiches and a mile of baked goods!

Why have I not heard of this place before? I used to work by this bakery for a year and I never realized this place was a bakery and was open 24⁄7! That is insane! I was craving sweets and decided to check out what they had in store. There were so many cake options I had no idea which one to choose. I ended up getting the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and man it tastes just as good as it sounds… For a bit under $ 5.00 they give you a decent sized cake for yourself or to share and it has a nice café feel to it when u sit and enjoy it. I’m excited to see what the other cakes and desserts are like!

Definitely a 5 star! Friendly and helpful servers, nice smoothies and cheesecake! The Wifi and casual atmosphere is perfect for spending a lazy afternoon. Good and simple decorations make me feel comfortable. That’s why it’s always filled with people and finding a seat can always be difficult. But it’s worth the waiting time.

Came here over the weekend to get a French baguette($ 3.50) which turned out to be quite nice and fresh. They have a wide variety of baked goods, cakes, pies, and sandwiches on display in their front counter. I tried their ham and cheese muffin which was only ok — a bit dry and dense for my liking. I will have to come back to try all their other goodies. Great space and friendly service. This place was bumpin’ on a Sunday afternoon.

One of the best coffee shops that I’ve ever been to! It’s got a great, unpretentious atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re at home when you’re here for a bite or a coffee break. The prices are fairly reasonable for their drinks and goodies. I very much enjoyed the Iced Americano which actually tasted like a strong coffee on ice, as well as their very fresh tasting Raspberry Donut! Hours are great so that if you’ve just finished dinner downtown and need somewhere to go for a late night dessert, they’re open for ya!

Over priced. Their cakes are not even that good. Specially their turnovers. So tough and bland. If you really want good cakes, go to true confections down on denman. Always come Out hungry when I go here. It is the place to just drink coffee and chat for hours.

I need this in my life. If I lived in Vancouver, this would be my go-to place for all manner of things. Let’s talk about the«being open 24 hours.» I’m a morning person. And when I fly from the East Coast to Vancouver, I’m even more of one. So on my first morning of my last trip to Vancouver, I was up before 4. I went for a walk and stopped in here for a delicious breakfast scone and hot tea. I’ve been several times since and the food is always delicious. The physical space managed to strike just the right blend of open concept but somehow not so open that it’s always loud. The folks behind the counter? Super nice. Easy to deal with(I say as someone who was overtired and jet lagged and wandering in at 4:30 a.m.). Looking forward to my next visit to Vancouver so I came come here again.

By far the largest location out of the 3. Easily twice as large as the Davie location. Parking is available on the side streets, or on Robson. This location has a nice patio in front, and the seating area has plenty of room. Maybe it’s in my head, but the pastry selection here looks much more impressive than the other locations too. Everything looks so fresh and dainty. The iced coffee I had hit the spot and felt good.

Can’t really go wrong with this place. Good coffee, tasty light meal and lunch items, fresh baked breads, and yummy desserts. Add to that, a nice causal atmosphere to sit and read something, do your homework, or hang with friends. Aside from the entrée items, I like their donuts here. They are not over-the-top with sugar(like Timmy’s) and the pastry is light, moist, and fluffy.
