Oh no, got my usual craving for this 37 yr, old fabulous place and it was closed — moving to a new location. Their pizza is great, but I always order the same thing — large Greek Salad with extra Feta(the BEST) — cheese bread and sometimes cheese cake. No del. charge if you order a certain amt. at least when it was in the West End. Have another number I can call as I feel a craving for my salad coming on, I sure hope they stay in the West End but I have my doubts. — OHNO. Will call another number on the West Side. No, they have moved from the West End after all these years — first on Denman then Davie. I ordered from their West Side location once and asked if I would be charged delivery, and they said no… but it took over one hour to get here, being that I always order the above — they used to be here in the West End apx. 20 mins.

Made an account purely to write this review. First up, love the shop interior — very nice, very welcoming(even if it did feel dodgy walking down the stairs). The staff were friendly. Ordered a Hawaiian pizza. Didnt have to wait too long. The pizza LOOKED amazing. Bacon on a Hawaiian pizza? Wow — stuff dreams are made of! Ate it… Hmmm. How the hell is it possible to make pineapple have absolutely no taste at all. IT didnt even taste of chicken, there was no taste to it, whatsoever. I even took a pineapple chunk and ate it on its own. Either I’m about to die of a stroke and all my tastebuds have stopped working, or there is something VERY wrong here. Then, I remembered — BACON! Bacon makes EVERYTHING better… Right? Riiiiight? No, even the bacon tasted of… Nothing. No saltyness, no nothing. This was the most bland pizza i ever ate! Neither of us could manage more than 2 slices(hoping the 2nd slice would be better after we covered them in ketchup). Seriously am not impressed. The worst pizza i have EVER eaten! And I’ve eaten at panagos and dominos!

Pretty solid pizza. My boyfriend and I occasionally order from here. They have a 3 topping medium pizza and wing special for about $ 25. We like the thin crust pizza here. Toppings are plentiful and pizza is not greasy like a lot of other places. Their delivery time is good too. We’ve never had to wait more than 30mins for our food to arrive. I also really enjoy their wings. Not a bad delivery option!

Pizza dough was too thick and took away from the flavor of the pizza. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you would like to fill up on cardboard crust.

We have ordered from Bella pizza for about 10 years. We loved their pizza! We order the gourmet vegetarian everytime. No tomatoes and add pineapple. They NEVER get the order wrong… ever… and never charge us extra for changing toppings. We have it delivered even though we have now moved to the westend. Although the delivery guys usually complain about walking up 2 flights of stairs to our place(it’s Vancouver a lot of westend apts do not have elevators). The pizza arrives quickly and is hot and fresh. Besides my home made pizza… this is our favorite!

Tasty pizza but the dough leaves something to desire. TONS of cheese on the vegetarian pizza that came with pesto sauce.

Place went way downhill when they moved from Yaletown… wouldn’t recommend this place.

Actually surprised this DT one isn’t more reviewed, considering its high-traffic area, esp. during the summer. What i liked about this pizza joint is the rare one that actually has a restaurant-style to sit down casually and have an alcoholic drink while watching the game. It’s a bit hard to find from the street as it’s not ground level, gotta walk down several steps. Decent pizza/value. Hard to find meter parking.

Montréal style pizza! Lots of cheese, lots of toppings UNDERNEATH the cheese. Vancouver arguably has the worst pizza joints in Canada and revels in it(google Vancouver style pizza and what it’s known for is being a dollars a slice!) however Bella rises above. The sauce is not quite there(too sweet?) but close enough for jazz.

I’m not sure if they are familiar with an ACTUAL margherita pizza, but what I got wasn’t anything like one I’ve ever had– thick crust, mozzarella and edam, chopped tomatoes, and dried basil… oh and no pizza sauce. What? Pizza margherita is thin crust, sauce, provolone cheese and fresh basil. The lack of sauce made this pizza absolutely devoid of any kind of flavor. It was like thick bland bread and flavorless cheese. I never throw pizza away… this one I did. Disappointing. Editing to add that not all margherita pizzas have sauce, but the crust should be thin, the cheese provolone, and the basil fresh. This had none of those. Nor any flavor.

One of the better pizza deliveries in town. You can actually eat the pizzas here sober! They make a tasty large greek Salad too. The hot subs are decent and their lasagna, while not the best, is still okay too. Service is fast and friendly, and their prices are decent considering the quality of fast food you are getting.

BESTPIZZAPLACE!!! They make pizza subs, and they are fantastic!!! You choose whatever toppings you would like and they put in a sub and bake it, voila pizza sub… Their pizza is also great!!! I prefer delivery than to eat in there. It’s very old… Now I’m hungry.

My mom and I were starving after our two-hour drive from Seattle and decided to search up on nearby pizza joints within walking distance from our hotel, and after reading all the rave reviews here on Unilocal we wanted to see what this place had to offer. You have the option of ordering either a whole pizza, which has a wider selection, or pizza by the slice($ 2.50) with only four or five choices. We both had the ham and pineapple. I can usually scarf down pizza to the point that each bite sits in my mouth for no longer than 8 seconds, but this stuff was horrible. Completely flavorless and tasted like cardboard. I looooove rubbery cheese, but this stuff made me feel like I was eating fake food you’d see in a model home. Perhaps I’m making a hasty judgment here but my time in Vancouver is limited… I may give this place another chance if I’m ever back in town.

One of the best pizza places in the world. Been going since the ‘80s when it was just one hole in the wall on Denman. Now it has locations in a few spots around the Lower Mainland but still doesn’t have the profile it deserves. Basically, they do a Montréal style pizza where the extra dough is plopped in the middle of the pizza and you get a free doughball(bun?) with every pizza. The crust is that Montréal-style thick yet soft and chewy. They also do thin crust for any pizza so just ask. I will give them one black mark – their Marghuerita is no good. The rest especially the vegetarian, Hawaiian and Capricciosa are beyond fantastic. They don’t offer any dopey 2-for-1 deals so if you’re looking for that bargain Panago or Pizza Hut pizza, go there. But if you have taste buds, order from Bella and you won’t be disappointed.

I have experienced their pizza(take out) on several occasion and I liked it. So I decided the other day that we should order from them(the Homer St location). While the pizza was fine, there was definitely a mix up in the order — as the chicken caesar salad ended up being a plain caesar salad, fortunately charged accordingly — as well as a dubious quality on said salad. Not sure I’ll feel compelled to order again non-pizza.

Oh… wow… I’m stuffed… :D For a relatively big man, I was really surprised being able to eat ¾ of the medium size pizza. The experience was a bit dualistic, so let me explain. First of all, don’t get me wrong, I completely respect this pizza and the guys making it(hey, I gave the joint 4 stars for this), but my mental model of pizza is formed in Europe, and the biggest difference compared to this one is the crust. This crust is more what we tend to call pan pizza: thick, crispy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside. There are usually less toppings too but I’m really not complaining about that either. This is solely for informational purposes: don’t expect the thin(few millimeters) and crispy kind of crust. Go get the pizza anyway. :o) Not that I’m complaining about the pizza as a whole. The ‘All dressed’ was really a tasty experience. I liked the sauce and to me it tastes like the real thing — made from fresh, fruity, ripe tomatoes. So… Really good pizza here. And the makers seem like bunch of guys enjoying what they are doing, got to love that, too.

I decided to give this place a shot after reading the rave reviews. After eating three slices of their Vegetarian pizza, I have this to say: Meh. While the quality of the bread is really great(probably the best I’ve had in Vancouver), their tomato sauce is plain and dull. My roommate agrees, and believe you me, he knows tomato sauces. He is 3⁄16th Italian. Anyways, the cheese and the ingredients are alright — nothing canned, thank god. But again, there was no real kick to this particular pizza. I would be hard pressed to remember it.

This is my FAVORITE pizza joint in the city! I’ve been going to Bella for over 10 years. Trust me, I know my pizza and this is the real $hit! I’m sick of the commercialized pizza joints with their plastic tasting cheese and cardboard crust. Bella is the best. My fav’s(in no particular order): — Bella Chicken — Pepperoni — Hawaiian — Baked Lasagna with Meatballs(comes with a buttery piece of thick garlic bread) — Double Pepperoni & Mushrooms — Pepperoni, Capicollo, Sausage Mmmmm. I also always get their house dip which is a tangy/zesty/all-dressed dip which is offered with the Garlic Fingers. Great for crust dipping. Seriously good stuff.

I picked Bella because they deliver. I looked at their website, and my husband placed the order. What I had picked out was a 1 topping special. The website told me the price and that’s why I picked it. However, because my husband didn’t say that he wanted the special, and instead just said that he wanted a 1 topping pizza we had to pay a larger price. Ok, ok, fine. It’s our fault. This place is in business to make money– but come on! If you annoy me this badly, then I’m never going to buy your pizza again. So that’s that!

It appears that I will never truly be satisfied with any pizza that isn’t my Mum’s homemade pie(or my own!) but with that being said, Bella Pizza is a great choice for originality, flavour and overall pizza quality. Bella offers some very interesting and delicious pizza options, from the Gourmet Vegetarian, with spinach, fresh tomato, artichoke hearts, onions, feta cheese and pesto(one of my faves!) to more traditional varieties such as the All Meat with bacon, beef, salami, pepperoni, capicollo and Italian sausage, to the La Bella Mexicana with seasoned beef, green peppers and fresh tomatoes, taco spice and jalapenos on a salsa sauce. Yum! You can also, of course, create your own pizza with over twenty five ingredient options, ranging from banana peppers to pesto and shrimp, amongst the usual suspects. Should you be craving something other than pizza, Bella offers up chicken wings, baked pastas, baked chicken dinners, salads, garlic breads, submarine sandwiches and even desserts! Free delivery is offered within a three kilometre radius with a minimum order of $ 10.00. Being family owned and operated since 1979 has clearly given Bella Pizza the upper-hand!
