Good place visually. Very poor service. Haircut lasted 5 minutes in witch i did not see myself in the mirror so i had no idea what he was doing. Finished product was not horrible but not good as well.
If you want people to see you there then go. Otherwise avoid.

I was in town for an event with my family, and my 4 year old needed a haircut. We walked in on a Thursday and asked if my son could get a haircut. The woman at the counter looked less then thrilled to help us, but she reluctantly said «Yes».
She then proceeded to turn to a guy sitting on the bench behind her and asked him if he would do the cut. He shook his head no. Yes I’m sure he didn’t want to cut my son’s hair because he was crying, and I explained to them both that my son would be fine once he sat down, but I find it rude and unprofessional to say no in front of a potential customer.
He could have said «Sorry I’m expecting a client right now». Rude!
The woman then tells me «Sorry we can’t cut his hair today can you come back tomorrow morning and Helen will cut his hair?» So I said fine!
I returned the next day, and the same woman with a puss on her face is working the counter. Not sure what her deal is but she looks like she hates her job.
Helen did a great job with my son’s hair. He did not cry and engaged in a conversation with Helen. Wish I could rate this place on Helen alone because she deserves FIVE STARS, but I can’t so TWO stars for the annoyed looking woman at the front counter and the unprofessional barber with a heart tattoo on the back of his upper left arm. These people know who they are, and I hope people think twice about visiting this place when there are other establishments that would appreciate the business.

This is the first review I leave on any site. The experience terrible;
No smiling, it seemed there was a general disinterest to being at work.
Terrible haircut — too short despite the fact I said not short please. Then I’m told «I only took a half inch».
Left with my hair still not styled to work on another client.

This places looks very appealing from outside and makes you think people working there know what they are doing.
Well I scheduled for a haircut and Sarah attended me.
I showed her few pictures of the haircut I wanted and I have to say she did a fantastic job. She was very patient with my requests and took her time to make sure she does a great job.
Please ask for Sarah and you can be confident you will be attended by someone you can trust with your hair.

I have been getting haircuts here since they first established their business in Vancouver. I was impressed with the décor and culture they had going on. I had exceptional haircuts there, and found it quite convenient since their store is right by my place. However, their numerous staff turnovers and their lack of care to their clients’ needs was starting to question my experience with them after every visit. For instance, every barber store or salon where you would pay over $ 50 for a haircut, offers complimentary clean up after a week or so. The owner, Ian however, is after nothing but your money. When the store was initially opened, he seemed like a genuine bloke that would probe and provide the service that you would expect from a $ 50 haircut. Unfortunately, I had a couple of incidents with Ian where he would always grease up a buck on a service that’s understood to be complimentary. I have had numerous clean ups there with no charge. However when he was assigned for my clean up one day, he gets his inexperienced counter staff, who seemed under 15, to charge me $ 10 for a free service. When I asked him what the scoop on that was, he tells me it’s a neck clean up, and that varies. He charges me for something I didn’t even request. Guess $ 10 was really needed to hit the cash flow target that day. I am not an individual to sit down and write reviews from a service I have received, but I felt very insulted by the dishonest approach of the owner as the face of this company. I hope this constructive criticism finds its way to the right place and people.

It’s that time of year again where I’m running around trying to find the perfect Christmas presents for my husband. And I finally found THE place where I’ll probably get all of my presents for my hubby!
I love men with well-​groomed beards, my husband’s especially and Blackbird Barbershop has a variety of products. From fancy face moisturizers, beard shampoo, beard conditioners, shaving gels, to hair pomades, etc. You name it, they have it. The products all come in very distinguished looking packaging and containers. They have this wooden gift box that you can customize with whatever products you like (hubby’s birthday present idea!) I’m seriously all set for gift ideas for the next little while! No more headaches pondering what to get!
The customer service was great. One of the barbers was just finishing up with a client and came over right away to help me decide on which products to purchase. He took the time to explain the products to me, how to use it and what it does. I didn’t feel intimidated like I thought I would. I was just so happy to have found awesome gifts to buy.
