Yay! Shout out from celeb Unilocaler Crystal H! After passing by this lot year after year it was about time to give back in what little way I could. 5 feet of giving back to be specific. All profits from Aunt Leahs’ trees go towards housing for women and children as well as education for low income families. They make sure you leave fully informed on where your money is going and there is plenty of take away literature as well. The staffers are extremely friendly and will help prune your tree to your heart’s content and load it into your car. There are 4 locations: Vancouver, burnaby, coquitlam, north van. And most years they sell out. Pricing by foot results in it being a little more than your average Superstore or Ikea tree but it’s well worth it to be able to give back, even a little.

100% of the profits from Aunt Leah’s trees support foster kids. Um, yeah, I’ll spend my Christmas tree dollars on that! One might think that they’re going to get a wimpy, low quality tree, but no way. Our cultured Douglas Fir was $ 7 a foot and more full and perky than any trees I’ve purchased in years past from«for-profit» lots. It’s a frosty project made toasty warm by the volunteer staff who were all really sweet, helpful and humbled by the fact that people buy trees from them. And our beautiful tree? Well I have a feeling it will take us straight through Christmas and right on into the New Year. Oh, and one big merry shout out to Unilocaler Pennylane S who tipped me off to this awesome lot in the first place! PS. They’re open until Christmas Eve, everyday from 10am.
