History

Established in 2009.

Art of Headshots is a Vancouver-based photography and portrait studio with a passion for people. Headshot is the Optimum Branding Identity.

A Portrait is the first visual point, being a headshot professional, I have witness the engagement related to headshots, and the difference it makes when people use our system for realizing a meaningful branding image.

Do we relate to faces because we human beings are narcissistic and will respond to things that matter to us, mainly us and about us? Or does it have to do with bonding and social development? I wonder if we also will automatically and intuitively make judgements toward the headshot in a profound and intuitive way?

It seems that by passion, trial and error and curiosity I have been building an online neuroscientific approach for producing a headshot that is ‘the optimum branding identity’.

Carlos T.

Business Owner

Art of Headshots is a portrait studio in Vancouver dedicated to engaging portraits… As a little boy I admired my Father’s, ability to capture great images. He was a diplomat and traveled around the world — I would follow him everywhere. But my favourite shots of Dad’s were always, without fail, images of people.

While studying photography at Claude Watson, I was mesmerized by the most outstanding portrait photograph I have ever seen: National Geographic Magazine’s cover of June 1985 — the Afghan girl by Steve McCurry. Little did I know that 25 years later, my mission would be to recreate the feeling of the Afghan girl in every portrait, by capturing the spirit inside everyone who I have the pleasure to photograph.

In the 1990’s I worked with troubled Youth and their families for the Ministry of Children and Families and also with the Vancouver School Board. My work is an extension of both careers combined to create the optimum branding identity for engagement.
