Now, just who do we think we are to tell YOU what to wear? How presumptuous.

The only style we care about is the one you bring in here with you. We’re here to help you express it.

Sure, we go to Paris and New York every so often, but that’s not so much about style as it is about ensuring we carry one of Vancouver’s most unique eyewear collections. (Plus we can write off «buying trips»)

So the Abasa Guide to Style, in its entirety, reads like this: Being yourself is being fabulous.

History

Established in 1990.

Rumours

Once upon a time there lived a single working woman in the West End.

After spending years buying cheap crap for eyewear she finally went into a lovely little optical shop in her own neighbourhood. The shop that she walked by for many years but always thought was too «poo poo chi chi» and «snobby» surprised her.

Not only did she find kindred spirits in this optical shop, she found sublime and elegant frames. Being a fashionista of sorts, she appreciated the fact that Azra and Anar have no overstock. What you see and LOVE is one of a kind. If you love them, buy them, because they will not be there in 2 weeks. They are always receiving new stock.

The single woman has received many compliments on her choice of frames from Abasa over the years, such as «Oh My God, you’re 46?» and her favourite: «Holy Crap, those new glasses make your ass look fantastic.»
